Jamie Vardy

Recommended Posts

It's not though is it. Especially when you see who his strike partner is.

Vardy is nowhere near intelligent enough to realise calling a japanese person a jap is historically considered racist.

He's using it in the context of calling a british person a Brit or an austrailian an Aussie.

Give him a slap on the wrist and educate him on it and move on

So what do you all think will happen with this?

Will Vardy be in trouble with the club? It's obvious the owners don't take kindly to bringing unwanted attention to us. Maybe a slap on the wrist behind close doors?

Tbf if it's racist then why have the sun used the exact same term in several articles over the years, and no one bat on eyelid? But comes from a professional footballer and it's a disgraceful act. Like someone mentioned the aggressive behaviour is more of a concern to me

The club would need to prove that he did use a racist term and I genuinely don't think you can prove anything by watching that video, it could just as easily be 'chap' and the only people who say there was an oriental gentleman there are The Sun and their 'eye witness' as you cannot see the other party in what looks like an oddly cropped video.

As far Vardys actions , his show of aggression is not nice to see and is highly regrettable but he'd not actually broken any laws by getting a bit lairy (although, of it weren't for Ritchie, he might be looking at criminal sanctions). We'd all like our club's players to be good blokes but some of them will be ***** unfortunately. Also, I've got mates how are cracking lads but who can get aggressive occasionally when riled, doesn't make them total low-lives.

I'm not defending JV, I'm just saying that before we accept what notorious liars The Sun present as truth we should consider the bare facts: you cannot say categorically the JV used a racist term,he hasn't hurt anybody, he hasn't committed a crime. There are too many ifs, buts and maybes to condemn him completely.

:frusty:

Jesus ****ing Christ.

It's not the word, it's the context, it's the implication that all east-Asian people are/look the same.

Why is this such a mind bending concept for people?

The worst bit is that it's probably not even what he ****ing said but up comes the issue and out come all the mouth-breathing Troglodytes to defend racism because they're too sensitive to just admit they were a bit ignorant and didn't realise they held views that were offensive.

Dude, they do look the same. If you put a Korean, Chinese and Japanese in front of me, I would probably get them wrong if I had to identify.

Racism is a criminal offence, LCFC cannot be seem advocating it, they have to sack him and distance themselves from his actions like they did with Pearson junior.

Can you feck off and die you cumt !!!!

Stop winding people up

What the fvck?

I don't want him sacked because he's a crucial player but if found guilty the club are in a difficult position given what happened a couple of months ago. Even if he didn't say what is alleged it's not particularly positive to see him drunk and acting aggressively either. Like it or not, his every move will be scrutinised and he needs to be more aware of his actions. Not to be angelic and teacher's pet but to be responsible.

This has nothing to do with pro-Pearson, anti-Pearson or any such crap, it's about Jamie Vardy, his behaviour and the possible implications for him and the club.

Found guilty of calling someone a Jap? Behave yourself.

Unfortunately, Vardy may be a fantastic footballer, but appears to have a somewhat low level of intelligence. He is a public figure and should be smart enough to understand when you are in the public eye you are there to be shot down. Needs to take his stardom more seriously otherwise it could cost him and us his career. Grow up Jamie and represent your club appropriately, otherwise you will end up like Hopper et al.

It all depends on the situation, from the video and the questionnable article we have no context. At the moment we don't know whether he even said 'Jap' or, if he did, intended as a racist insult. Just been talking to my dad who works in east asia and he says that japanese people very freely refer to themselves as 'Japs' just as an abbreviation and are completely fine with others doing so. But once again obviously we don't know the context so it could be bad and unacceptable what he's done but we simply don't know yet. Anyway if it is tge worst case scenario I still believe that with an apology and some sort of punishment we can sort it out, this 'scandal' isn't nearly the level of the one in Thailand. Vards is always getting plaudits from staff he's worked with for his attitude and professionalism so personally I believe that he's not a racist and it was just a heated mistake. Not wishing to support his actions at all but that is my view on the matter

I haven't been though all the previous 16 pages but Do we know for definite that he actually said that word at all, I haven't seen the video, has anyone seen the video?

Just from reading the article in the paper there are a lot of claims of what vardy has supposedly done using vague statements from onlookers

Not seen the vid. Did the other guy look like Jaap Stam?

Vid is on 1st page, don't see the other bloke.

No way he can be sacked based on that video

I think it's been evident for years, and pretty conclusive that Jamie Vardy is actually an idiot.

Unless it's proven / investigation says otherwise, Vardy has to stay stum, LCFC PR stum, the owners stum - and let it all blow over.

If he is found to have been racist to the lad, make him apologise in a statement, no interview - and when Vardy goes into training with Okazaki on Monday, let them have a little talk because we need them to be friends. I wouldn't expect this to get in the way anyway, they're both professional on the pitch and Vardy wasn't racially abusing Okazaki or racially abusing Japan that night - he was being a twat if true.

Oh, I'm predicting the pro-Pearson fans will use this and say Vardy should be sacked, just to use it as a stick to beat the owners with. The guy is our best forward, and worth at the minute, close to £15m. Sack him for a mistake? A public apology and a fine would be ok and would show we don't condone it.

Come on let's not make this into a Pearson debate. The owners will decide the way they see fit. It could lead to criticism either way towards the owners.

Also, we're not sacking Jamie Vardy.

IF we sack Jamie Vardy then the owners and club are idiotic - this isn't some slit-eye talk on official Leicester City duty, it's a booze up in the casino. The three lads were dispensable, Vardy is an England international, a Leicester City first teamer and has a big value and contribution to the game - if he's sacked then their will quite literally be a row of clubs waiting to pick him up, and I bet half the Premier League would be going for him. Signing a player of Vardy's calibre on a free, at his age and form with that tiny bit of a 'controversy; is what clubs like Aston Villa dream of.
