If he comes out and saya i did not say jap and the audio is still as inconclusive as i think it is then nothing will come of this other then him being told to be cool in public. Id imagine the club wouldd sit him down and tell him to smarten up as next time it could be on someones cell phone or more clear etc. Now if its proven either via admission or forensic sound analysis then we have a problem because jap is a racist term. If used in the context noted in the video then i cant see how he wont be in trouble a la john terry (except this was on his own time not the pitch). Cmon Dan, you're smarter than this - it's not a case of one rule for us, one for the rest; Brit, Aussie, they're not used with malice or have any derogatory background, jap, like chink or paki, does (although in this case it's one most people will be ignorant of because it's not something we're exposed to).
