Villa (H) this season was a prime example of this. We were 0-2 down, concerned we may lose the match, and yet the home crowd didn't give up on the team and we just kept supporting the lads. As a result, the team did turn it around and won 3-2. I can recall if I remember correctly that Villa fans were saying after the match how we played such a role in us winning that game, how we stayed with the team despite the scoreline. Love the clip where Vardy equalises to make it 2-2, and the sheer joy from the fans and players alike. The togetherness and bond has been key.

Whereas Villa fans on the other hand deserted their team from that moment onwards and look where it got them... lol

If everyone rips up their clapper before the game I reckon that's more than enough confetti and we don't have to hear that awful plastic sound for 90 minutes too. Win Win.

ruin the atmosphere for a bit of confetti?

If we need clappers to create atmosphere on what could be the biggest and best day in our 132 year history, I'll be ****ing gutted.

Before clappers = shit atmosphere, after clappers = best in the UK I personally don't use mine but let's not moan about them plenty of jealous fans of other clubs to do that.

A fair point, but this is exactly the kind of day when the atmosphere should create itself. It's not a midseason game against Bournemouth where many need geeing up, it'll be arguably the biggest game in European football of that day.

The club will quite rightly not stop supplying clappers as the atmosphere and our form since we started using them againt West Ham has been earth shaking. Clappers are here to stay why Moan about them. Is the atmosphere at the kp seen as manufactured by some? Yes maybe. Do I give a shiny s**te? Not at all a good atmosphere that I can enjoy and the players feed offimproves my enjoyment ten fold.

People are often a bit snobby on here about the clappers and generic songs etc. maybe I'm just getting on a bit and can remember 15 years of hearing a pin drop at the walkers so appreciate the amazing atmosphere and every one getting involved clappers or no clappers, whoa whoa whoaaaaa or no whhoa whoa whoaaaaa

Don't understand this idea that the clappers have somehow created an artificial atmosphere. People aren't forced to use them so how can you really say it's manufactured, your making it sound like people are held at gunpoint to use them.

well get yourself some tissues to wipe up those tears, cos we do.

Bollocks do we need clappers to make an atmosphere, there are points throughout the game where the whole stadium is standing and singing together to a song that doesn't even require a clapper.

Sod the clappers discussion.

We need to create the atmosphere we have been at West Ham. I can see it getting very nervy which is the point that the lads will need us the most!

Southampton should have been nervy but it wasn't. Same again please.

We (The Crowd) need to be at our very best tomorrow. We really do need to be that 12th man.

Do not leave the ground tomorrow not needing therapy for your throat. Sing your hearts out for the lads.

Towards the end of the game against Southampton was magnificent.

We really need to do that from the start tomorrow.

Actually, we had a few games earlier last season where the atmosphere was not bad, for the Man Utd win it was electric with the comeback but the clappers have really helped.

They are not the reason for the atmosphere, which is why it fails a little at other clubs but they help to stimulate it when things are a tad quiet or push it into overdrive when things are,...epic :)

In a stadium full of noise peeps find it easier to join in because you do not feel like everyone is looking at you, though being slightly sloshed always helps me anyway

I just see them as a modern version of noise making implements of the past, like those old movietone type films where you see all those flat caps using rattles.

The atmosphere didn't turn with the clappers though did it. It turned when we got organised with a singing section in the Kop. A year before the clappers.

The clappers were 1st used when we played Watford at home in a league game in 2013. Atmosphere was fvcking shocking.

I'm sure it will be unreal tomorrow, it better be anyway.

The players are doing there bit and now the onus is on us to help drive the players over the line.

Sing your hearts out for 90 minutes and be proud that you've helped contribute to what could be the biggest season we may ever witness!

What is the problem with the clappers.

Use it as a clapper confetti or to waft away smelly farts.

You don't pay for them ffs.

Anything that involves more people has to be a help.
