HitchinFox Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Interesting to see how differing opinions we all have. And how hard a decision it is. I note that no one has really mentioned Benalouane. Probably because he hasn't really featured so far. I'd definitely add him to the mix as he could prove to be really useful for us.
Livid Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 I honestly couldn't tell you. I think the starting 11 for the last two games have been great, but IMO the defence looked better at the end of last season with three at the back. I think if we dropped 4-4-2 and reverted back to that though we would lose some of the attacking intensity we've seen in the last couple of weeks. Tough call!
adam95581 Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Having read the first half a dozen posts I'm pretty amazed!! People throwing in players that have barely ever worn the shirt and looked ropey, or chucking people in their wrong positions. For the time being surely the XI picks itself, but IMO it'd ultimately be: Kasper Was Huth Wes Schlupp Kante Inler Albrighton Mahrez Okazaki Vardy ...but I expect benny will eventually start and play RB (thus replacing was) as part of a 442. Hopefully he improves. As much as I agree that this may well be our best XI, it's a massive contradiction to put Kante/Inler in given your first statement about hardly wearing the shirt (or in Inler's case - never wearing the shirt). I still think we are perfect for a 343/352 formation and haven't seen anything in our defensive displays so far to show otherwise. Can't complain though, 442 has worked overall
Bamba's Babes Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Home: Schmeichel RDL - Morgan - Huth - Schlupp Albrighton - Drinkwater - Kante - Mahrez Okazaki - Vardy Away: Schmeichel Albrighton - Morgan - Huth - Fuchs - Schlupp Drinkwater - Inler - Kante Mahrez Vardy
lgfualol Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Savage is a nobend. Club hero but still a nobend. He was slating Ranieri the other week and he was one of the Neil Lennon brigade as were muzzy, walsh et al. Thank christ we didnt go with Lennon. Bottom of the champ.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 U wot m8. It's true. Two great games and Drinkwater is now a world beater. He was wrote off last season and now people are getting carried away.
Stuntman_Mike Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 In my opinion on paper; Kasper Benny Huth Morgan Schlupp Albrighton Inler Kante Mahrez Vardy Okazaki But it is hard to say so early on and there will be plenty of rotation for one reason or another.
Captain... Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 A few observations, King and Drinkwater look better this season than when we were playing poorly last season, because the whole team is playing better. Okazaki and Vardy being absolute pests up front force the play, force the defenders to rush their passes, make the midfield wary of playing it backwards as they know it will be jumped upon and they know they can't dally on the ball as they will have someone snapping at their heels, it also make the full backs worried about leaving their centre backs exposed to the pace of Vardy and Shinji and the threat of Albrighton and Mahrez and the overlapping of Schlupp and RDL. All this means that the opposition midfield has fewer options, less time on the ball and gives massive support to Drinkwater and King it also gives them a bit more time on the ball as they are focussing on the players that will hurt them. That is not to say they aren't playing better, but it is easier for them to play their own game rather than be overrun, but we saw in the second half of West Ham match that they struggled to take control of the game when we were being pushed back and under pressure.
johnny the fox Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 there is a thing called injury..bound to happen. then some will be saying we are short again..
Thracian Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 How the hell can anyone say with any certainty what our strongest line-up is? It all depends on so many factors including our own tactics and the strengths/weaknesses of our opponents. I do know this though. Some people have been vrtual ever presents in our revival since the beginning of April and there's likely to be a reason for that. You also need pace and stamina at full-back. When I look at our squad now and at all the achievements of the individual players I just think "wow, what a wonderful problem for the manager choosing from that lot." It sure beats of days of people like Levein, Kelly and Holloway when it looked like Hinckley Town could provide stronger reinforcements. Matt Gillies might have managed a terrific Leicester team but he certainly didn't have the back-up we've got now. Hell, just the bench now would probably beat the full Forest first team!
Stuntman_Mike Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Maybe because his wife made him go and do the shopping? Or because he stepped in shit? I'd have stayed in the shit.
Thracian Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Amazed at how so many people are leaving the likes of Schlupp and King out, clearly our strongest XI is the one who've won 2 out of 2 so far. Kasper De Laet Morgan Huth Jeff Mahrez Drinkwater King Albrighton Vardy Shinji. Simple. They'd leave King and Drinkwater out for any new midfield signing! They just assume new signings represent an improvement. Especially if they have foreign names. Laczko and Djiziri were touted once - along with so-called full-back Kaebi and some Italian bloke who's name escaped me but was never even fit. Yet I doubt some have even seen some of our latest new signings for more than a few minutes on YouTube. It's an attitude thing....whatever comes new is bound to be better than what it's replacing. If only ..... although, more seriously, I do believe there's every indication that most of our new signings this summer will make a notable and positive difference...and estabished players will have to work ever harder to catch the eye and stay involved. I'm just thrilled that we have such a seemingly wonderful choice.

AK - Keep going.... CR - Well I was thinking of throwing you in in front of Inler and giving you a complete free role AK - ...So no position or tactics would apply to me? CR - That's correct - You just position yourself as you feel fit.. AK - Of course boss, I'm going to go and watch Tottenham's last games and plan a strategy. CR - Fantastic Andrej. First you need to set yourself a realistic target for total goals for the end of the season AK - Well the premier league is tough boss so I will have to be a little cautious on this - Can you give me a minute on this? CR - No problem, I'm just going to invite Inler and Kante in while you go over your numbers... General Smuts Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 king is captain and first name on the teamsheet and player manager when we're too drunk to get the game Sold. Kasper Benny - Hoof - Wes Albrighton - Schlupp Kingy - Inler Mahrez Balotelli - Okazaki Then we can drag Vardy on when Mario has had enough of it always being him to batter tired defences.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 It's true. Two great games and Drinkwater is now a world beater. He was wrote off last season and now people are getting carried away. You still don't get that we're not a top half team? The league doesn't end after 2 games.
ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Encouraging when you have to leave good players out of our best XI. Shows we have good depth (in general) when injuries, suspensions or lack of form occur. Hopefully that will be a key factor in us doing better this season.

Mad Dog Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 It's a really difficult question actually. Right now? Kasper Fuchs, Morgan, Huth Albrighton Schlupp Inler, Drinkwater Mahrez Vardy Okazaki Something like this? God knows.
Superpants82 Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 KASPER BENNY HUTH MORGAN ALBRIGHTON SCHLUPP INLER KANTE MAHREZ VARDY OKAZAKI Not a right now team, but with full fitness and gelling this looks a good prospect, I reckon kante/Inler will be an upgrade on DD and king later on
FrankieWorthoYaggedMyWife Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Id have thought given we are playing 4-4-2 currently people would at least post there speculative shit in that formation?
STUHILL Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Kasper Morgan Huth Benalouane Albrighton Schlupp Inler Kante Mahrez Vardy Okazaki
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 20 August 2015 Posted 20 August 2015 Current team has gone ahead and won first 2 games. See absolutely no reason to change it. Obviously Inler will come in at the expense of Drinky or King at some point for good. What I'm more interested in is what sort of subs/formation switches Claudio will make when we're chasing a game, rather than trying to consolidate a lead.
