Strongest XI....

Recommended Posts

Start growing the handlebar tache. We take over tomorrow

king is captain and first name on the teamsheet and player manager when we're too drunk to get the game

Don't think we need a strongest team, as that will depend on how we set up against the opposition. What we do have now is a very strong squad, with good options. The difficulty may be keeping everyone happy.

Having read the first half a dozen posts I'm pretty amazed!! People throwing in players that have barely ever worn the shirt and looked ropey, or chucking people in their wrong positions. For the time being surely the XI picks itself, but IMO it'd ultimately be:

Kasper

Was

Huth

Wes

Schlupp

Kante

Inler

Albrighton

Mahrez

Okazaki

Vardy

...but I expect benny will eventually start and play RB (thus replacing was) as part of a 442. Hopefully he improves.

Whys everyone jizzing over Drinky again? He was poor last season and i've seen every minute of this season so far and can't say I've seen anything spectacular? His forward passing has been slightly better than last season but still not a patch on Esteban, his defensive game has again been slightly better but I still wouldn't consider it anything any other top half club would be interested in?

Same applies to King.

I have also seen every minute and I'm not sure you can know what number Drinkwater is based on your comments, either that or you really have not seen the games so far,he has been excellent as have a number of others.

Alternatively you could be on the wind up.

Ulloas time will come, just doesn't help his case atm that the current XI are playing so well! He was great for us last year and although may not suit our livewire, high pressing format, he's a goalscorer and is still a massive asset to us

I'm not saying he hasn't performed. I'm saying he isn't the world beater everyone is suddenly making out on here. In comparison to last season, yes he looks a world beater but now he's just performing where he should be and should have been last year. Like I said, Drinkwater and King probably wouldn't be a starting CM pairing in any other team in the top half. To make out like oh, doesn't matter that Cambiasso has gone because we have Drinkwater is a bit OTT in my opinion, that is all. Inler will probably replace King and Drinkwater will keep his place, but anyone suggesting Drinky is better than Inler clearly hasn't watch Inler play.

It's just anticipation. Like for mine, I wasn't saying I think Inler, Fuchs, and Kante should all start next week. I just mean that midseason or near the end of the season, once everyone has started to acclimate, that's my guess for our best 11.

Agree largely with this. Love Kingy but don't see him as a long term starter with Drinky on this form, Kante and Inler around.

I would also prefer Was over RDL but I guess CR is thinking that playing RDL allows us to flex between a 352 and 442 without making a sub.

i've just watched robbie savage say ranieri will have no chance to tinker because our xi picks itself. he has lost the plot. we could put out two completely different XIs if we wanted.

Savage is a nobend. Club hero but still a nobend. He was slating Ranieri the other week and he was one of the Neil Lennon brigade as were muzzy, walsh et al.

They should sack every pundit who uses Tinkerman this season when Ranieri is mentioned.

we could genuinely play two XIs and albeit one stronger than the other they could comfortably mix and match in a number of positions;

Kasper

RDL - Morgan - Huuuuuth - Fuchs

Albrighton - King - Drinky - Mahrez

Vards - Okazaki

---------------

Schwarzer

Benny - Moore - Was - Chilwell - Schlupp

Inler - Kante - James

Ulloa - Kramaric

so much tinkerdink

Glad i aint the manager to be honest.

Its going to take some good man management to keep this group happy now.

I hope it doesnt happen, but i can see Schlupp getting snapped up late in the window?

Kante has looked far too good to be a sub to me, just don't ask me who I'd replace him with.

When we play a side like Man City, Chelsea etc I don't think we can play without a three man midfield- so does that mean one of Vardy and Okasaki misses out? Who?

The manager has a lot of headaches to come, but that's a good thing. Situations like last season away at Chelsea where we had GTF and Hammond finish the game in centre mid should never have happened. I didn't want Ranieri here whatsoever, but I have to admit the signings he's made have strenghthened us in key areas.
