LeicesterAreGoingUp Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Would love Demrai Gray. Think Bournemouth had a £5million bid rejected so not sure how much he'd cost!
Dylster Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 I think we need a little more depth on the wings. Could do with a new RB. But bringing a big improvement at CB would also be nice.
The Doctor Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Another goal at the weekend that ANY top goalkeeper would have stopped - a header from what - a yard out? Any top keeper would have struggled to stop that actually, close range free header at the back post; that's as close to a guaranteed goal as possible. The fault with that goal lies with Schlupp for not tracking his man and De Laet for not closing down the cross, as well as who ever it was that lost the ball to start with.
Strokes Posted 24 August 2015 Posted 24 August 2015 Can we start having IQ tests before you can post on here? It might become quite vacant.
dayday Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Would love Demrai Gray. Think Bournemouth had a £5million bid rejected so not sure how much he'd cost! 7 million should do it.
NewquayFox Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 8 million, it's our standard offer to clubs isn't it.... Up the City....
Babylon Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 I still think we need a 15/20 goals-a-season striker for all that I'm moderately pleased with what we've got and slightly concerned about how well we're likely to feed any strikers if we stop playing the 3-5-2 system, with variations, that served us so well. Because 4-4-2 seems to stifle all our attacking potential and negates so many of our strengths rather than playing to them - as was so often the case when Pearson used the system before he wised up. More than that it's painful to watch. We should be celebrating the chance to play in the Premiership not treating it like some sort of penance. The Vikings didn't raid these shores and go all defensive. They marauded, pillaged and tried to make the whole trip worthwhile. We, on the other hand, treated almost the entire Spurs game like an excuse-me slowstep. We re-enacted "The Legion's Last Stand" just behind the halfway line and even when we did pose a token threat we still left most of our army back in base camp maintaining their border patrol. If this is going to be Ranieri's last challenge in football he needs to leave something behind to reflect the beautiful game in all its glory and spectacle - not the tedium of a regimented 4-4-2 where chances and rarer than white tigers. I presume it was down to the heat because, surely, no-one would normally ask a team with such pace and movement as ours to play in a straightjacket against big, strong players whose presence filled the narrowed spaces yet who needed to be stretched, twisted and turned like medieval prisoners on those ancient racks. I know we won a point and remember us getting lots of draws or narrow defeats in the past because of our caution. What made us a lot better was attacking in numbers and trying to score from all angles. In other words trying to reflect our own personality instead of being governed by the fear of someone else's. Yes, the point was okay. But we're better than that. The Spurs defence was nothing like as good as we made em look by playing a system that so pointedly discouraged a lack of attacking support - for all that we still need reinforcements. Second in the league and still moaning. You can make out Spurs aint all that as much as you want, but they finished 5th last year. And of course it was the heat, the manager said as much.
song_bilong Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Give it a rest Thracian, if you knew half as much as you make out you wouldn't be a regular bum talking on the internet like the rest of us. i would generally give the benefit of the doubt to the man with over 20 years experience managing some of the top teams in world football, who has us unbeaten and who has been nothing but positive for the club so far. how can anyone have a problem with being out passed by a team who have regularly finished top 5 over the last 5 years +? are we going to slate the team every time they don't have a perfect game? perhaps the reasons we were able to attack so much against sunderland is because they are garbage

And of course it was the heat, the manager said as much. I'd want us to keep improving if we were top of the league and 10 points clear. If you were happy I'm pleased for you but I think our system flattered them, played to their strengths and was similar to the sort of space-conceding approach that has cost us dearly on many occasions in the past. It's no less risky than other approaches - as demonstrated by their goal - and damned awful to watch. I don't give a toss where Spurs finished last season - they're a "nearly" team with all sorts of flaws. I'm only concerned with the way we play and with targets higher than fifth.
Detroit Blues Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 I'd be wary of changing the keeper when we've been so successful with him. I dont know who people are expecting we could go get that would be a massive improvement.
Staffs Fox Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 It will be another RB and cover for Mahrez and Albrighton. This might seem a strange one but a player I'd like us to go for is Markovic from Liverpool. I know he struggled last season but he was dynamite at Benfica and arguable the most highly rated U21 player in Europe. Liverpool were gash with or without him but he seems to have taken a rougher ride than most which is harsh considering he was 20 coming into a new league and in and out the side constantly. He's now behind Ibe, Lallana, Coutinho and Firmino so there's no chance he's getting a game there. A loan to buy deal would be great.

Staffs Fox Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Loan maybe but they would want close to £20m for him There's no way they'll get anywhere near what they paid for him, He's not even been on the Bench this season, his value of plummeted. A loan paying 75% of his wages with a view to a permanent £11m transfer. Take it or leave it. They might leave it but 'he who dares wins, he who hesitates... don't'
5waller5 Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 We will not be a top ten team until we get a goalkeeper who is as good as Schmeichel thinks he is. His handling is poor - don;t even mention balls into the box - can he actually catch a moving ball at all? At fault for one of the Sunderland goals - lucky not to concede what was a definite penalty when out of position AGAIN against West Ham Another goal at the weekend that ANY top goalkeeper would have stopped - a header from what - a yard out? I hate myself for agreeing because I really love KS as a bloke and a character on the pitch ... but we do need a top ten keeper to be a top ten side ..... I'd love Pantiliman (sp?) he seems to keep Sunderland in every game I see them play.

5waller5 Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 He's let the most goals in this season so far Yeah not surprising given the 10 in front of him .... I've not seen many go past him that are his fault .... but seen him make some amazing saves. I'd still say that KS is good enough for us for another season at least and only when we need to make the next step do we need to consider a move for a keeper.

Don't forget he took hart out of the man city team, all be it to lose his place again to hart but he did nothing wrong to lose said place.

I'd love Pantiliman (sp?) he seems to keep Sunderland in every game I see them play. I think EVERY keeper makes mistakes, (Cech in his first Asrenal game, Courtois getting sent off, Mignolet last season, Joe Hart had a sticky spell for example) it's just the best keepers make the fewest mistakes. Kasper has made mistakes, but he has also kept us in many games as well. He is a good Keeper....Great Keepers cost many pound notes (Said in a grovelly Sean Dyche voice).

Tuna Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 He's let the most goals in this season so far He looks like an uglier version of Neil from Inbetweeners.
Benguin Posted 25 August 2015 Posted 25 August 2015 Think we need a new goalie, not too replace Kasper but a solid backup. Schwarzer wont last much longer. Would love a new RB as well. Really like De Laet but sometimes I have know idea what goes through his mind when he does certain things,
