mackiepas Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 could someone send me a picture of a happy clapper? 1. folded 2. Unfolded full size Does anyone also happen to know the dimensions? A3 i think it is?
Lestagirl Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 The clap-banners they produce for the Foxes are junior size measuring 340mm by 490mm. Article about them at link below and pics.Read more: http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/l/story-27802385-detail/story.html#ixzz3lsxylwny

I genuinely thought they were unique to LCFC. Failed experiments perhaps?
Captain... Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Interestingly she mentions they've also supplied Arsenal & Norwich. I genuinely thought they were unique to LCFC. Failed experiments perhaps? They've been used as one offs at a number of clubs Fulham is one off the top of my head, I think we are the first club to use them as a regular feature.
conLAD logan Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Best thing about these clappers as mentioned in the article is that it allows kids who perhaps aren't confident enough to be blurting out chants to add to the atmosphere as well as men and women who perhaps don't like to join in with chants. It's a well worthy 230k investment IMO

It's a well worthy 230k investment IMO this. my 5 year old is shy as hell. she will copy anything i say or do if she is uncomfortable. she figured out how to use a clapper quickly from copying me and she was even singing come on leicester by the end. bless her the poor gal was upset because she didnt get to sing the "leicester are the best" song she had thought of the night before.

Perhaps next game she'll be starting her own chants haha
TrentFox Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Think Huddersfield used them quite a lot a few years back.
goose2010 Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 I'm surprised how much they have got fans involved to be honest, anything that makes it noisy is fine by me, the last 20 mins on Sunday were superb.
Fox92 Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 My mates a STH at Hull and he has a couple from when they have used them before. Plenty of clubs have them. There's a strange video on YouTube where Manchester United fans have got them during an away game.
Livid Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 We can't win! If you search Leicester and Clappers on Twitter, we get slammed as being tinpot, embarassing etc. You then search Leicester and Aptmosphere/Crowd and there's a lot of compliments about how loud and passionate we are and they wish their crowd was like that. In the end they work for us so who cares! Not sure how many are expected against West Ham next week, I only know of one ST holder at work who isn't going, but if they aren't going to be giving out the clappers we may have to go for the novelty option and use our hands!
BoyJones Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Interestingly she mentions they've also supplied Arsenal & Norwich. I genuinely thought they were unique to LCFC. Failed experiments perhaps? Thought Wales used them last week. Not 100% sure.

The clappers aren't what make the atmosphere though. Voices are.
ScouseFox Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 The clappers aren't what make the atmosphere though. Voices are. as much as you want to believe that it's not massively true. do you think it's a massive coincidence that our "famous" atmosphere started pretty much exactly the same time we introduced the clappers? really?
Larry_LCFC Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Anyone that says our atmosphere isn't down to the clappers is deluding themselves.
Soup Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 I wonder what the atmosphere would be like if all the singers stayed down in the concourse?
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Honestly couldn't give a crap if other fans think they are tinpot. Would much rather have a great atmosphere and a great match day experience then be sat in a ground thats silent. Haters gonna hate.
Soup Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Typical.bullshit from people who can't be arsed to make an effort. Club playing right into the hands of lazy fans instead of really trying to do something.
Voll Blau Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 as much as you want to believe that it's not massively true. do you think it's a massive coincidence that our "famous" atmosphere started pretty much exactly the same time we introduced the clappers? really? While the two have pretty similar timelines, I'd put it down to our supporters actually begining to realise the effect a positive atmosphere can have on the team. We were in a nothing-to-lose situation, which both the players and fans responded to by adopting that attitude. My point is if no one was starting songs, and it was just clappers, would they be being used? No. Take them away and people will use their hands (and hopefully their voices too!) instead.
promised land Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Interestingly she mentions they've also supplied Arsenal & Norwich. I genuinely thought they were unique to LCFC. Failed experiments perhaps? I had them at Wembley for England games quite a few times, not sure if they stopped them there when they were being made into paper aeroplanes that time and they were bombing down from the upper tiers and they now use that stuff we've had for the tifo's for the St George cross.
ithuriel Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 Hull had them last season, did nothing for them in regards their atmosphere so it is down to more than the clappers. Not bothered by what other clubs say, to me they are a replacement for those rattles that used to be used in the days of black and white televisions. The loudest noise in the stadium on Sunday was when a good number of peeps sang the. 'You're not singing anymore' chant, loved the look on Schmeichel's face and the fact he turned round to look at the Villa fans when that was booming out
st albans fox Posted 16 September 2015 Posted 16 September 2015 I see vichai's thai guests happy clapping along No one is telling me that they would be hand clapping if the clappers didn't exist That must translate to many regular supporters getting involved who wouldn't otherwise do so Have to say that the Villa fans were more vocal than either s'land or Spurs had been. Or were we a bit flat in the first half with the atmosphere ?

No. Take them away and people will use their hands (and hopefully their voices too!) instead. but the point is we've always had singers dotted about. singers in sk1, singers in the east stand, a small amount the away side of the family stand. has our atmosphere always been the best in the country? no. the singers such as L1 and ufs start it off undoubtably but without the clappers it'd start and stop at L1 or SK1 like it has done for 10 years, until the clappers came. it's not hard to see the correlation.

We're going to have to agree to disagree. My argument is it's what's been going on on the field that's caused that, not the clappers. There was constant singing on Sunday from the Kop and L1, but people were only interested in using the clappers at points when we were in the game or attacking. As another poster said, the whole ground was belting out 'You're not singing...', pretty much the loudest thing I've ever heard at the new ground, and no one was using the clappers then.
