The people pictured were not involved in the incident. VIEW GALLERY Comments (5)Police were called to a disturbance involving up to 20 people in the city centre tonight. Officers were called to Silver Street, near the Clock Tower, shortly before 7.30pm to a brawl involving a large group of men. The incident, outside the Lamplighters bar, lasted for between 10 and 15 minutes, according to people who were nearby when it happened. Lenka Cabalova, area manager for the Prezzo chain of restaurants, which has a branch in Silver Street, said: "There were between 15 and 20 people fighting and one man was getting kicked in the head. He fainted three times. "I rang police, but it took them 10 minutes to get here and they sent two small women at first. Then some policemen came about another 10 minutes later." A man working nearby, who did not want to be named, said: "There were bottles flying and one bloke got knocked unconscious. "There were about 15 or 20 of them and when the cops came they all scattered." A Leicestershire Police spokeswoman said: "The incident was reported to us by an anonymous source at 7.30pm and officers were dispatched to the incident at the same time. Several mobiles were dispatched. "The initial incident reported six people involved and we used CCTV to monitor the incident from our control room. "There were no arrests but we spoke with at least two suspects identified on CCTV. We spoke to one person who had been assaulted but he was not willing to engage with officers at the scene." A passer-by sent pictures of police at the scene in to the Mercury. Tincy Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 In a weekday at the tramp lighters!? Must mean only one thing, Ronnie Pickering was in town
ramboacdc Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 if it was at the lamplighters why are the police vans at the clock tower?
Tincy Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Also on a serious note, a 15-20 man brawl gets reported and they send 2 policewoman
Mike Oxlong Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Probs Smuts and his posse beating up the owner of Taps.
General Smuts Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Probs Smuts and his posse beating up the owner of Taps. If I knew 15-20 blokes and wasn't in St Albans ...
cambridgefox Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Perhaps it was Una. Did any have baseball caps on?
Mike Oxlong Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 If I knew 15-20 blokes and wasn't in St Albans ... You could have used a wormhole. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-34410423 The first part of the puzzle is more difficult to solve.
Rob1742 Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 It was 7.00pm, so there wouldn't have been much concern. The people that go in there are off their heads at 11.30am, so they would hardly be able to walk at 7.00pm, let alone punch. Walked past there the other Sunday at around 2.00pm, a truly horrendous place to pass.
Guest MattP Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Nothing wrong with the Lamplighters although I wouldn't drink the pints, cheap vodka, karoake at 3pm and always come out with a story to tell, what more do you want? Salt of the earth people. Leicestershire > Leicester. This times a million though
Finnegan Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 I love how Matt is always complaining that Leicester is a shit hole but he loves Tramps and the Tavern
Guest MattP Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 The best thing about shitholes is always the pubs. If ever I'm in a totally run down area I always make the effort to visit the local, usually always provides something to remember.
Guest MattP Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Ended up taking a 3 legged dog home once from Dagenham, managed to sneak it back into the room at the Park Plaza on Westminster Bridge. Had to get a taxi and take it back the next day after we had sobered up.

Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 That's a good story but it had so much potential
Trav Le Bleu Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Also on a serious note, a 15-20 man brawl gets reported and they send 2 policewoman The report doesn't say that, it just says two small women. The elite midget squad. Fem division.
MPH Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Probs Smuts and his posse beating up the owner of Taps. If I knew 15-20 blokes and wasn't in St Albans ... Wayyyyyy to quick to protest your innocence....
whoareyaaa Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 The police are useless basically. no arrests, sent two women, monitered it from there control room, arrive 15 minutes after call when police station is 2 mins down the road. laughable, and they get to retire on a massive salary.
promised land Posted 1 October 2015 Posted 1 October 2015 Standard night out in Lamplighters isn't it? Haven't ventured in there since the Spencer's days, do they still open the basement up?
