We were talking about flags at work and wondered if we should do one for a Leicester City anti-hero. Suggestions include Junior Lewis, Peter Taylor, Zelco Kalac and Trevor Benjamin. Thought it might be fun to ask for suggestions and then get the best one made up. Thoughts?

Fox92 Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 Trevor Benjamin shouldn't be classed as an "anti-hero". He wasn't very good, but he tried and scored some good goals for us (I was there when he scored the winner at Pride Park).

Voll Blau Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 Junior Lewis would be a bit weird. If flags aren't going to be of "greats" they should be of players fans warmed to and still hold in high regard.

thursday_next Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 I like the Junior Lewis one, though it might depend on more of our fans having a slightly disturbed sense of humour than may in fact be the case. I agree with kingcarr21, Zelyko Kalac is in fact a hero. I'll never forget his first game against West Brom, in which he demonstrated such a command of his area that he would regularly come out virtually to the 18-yard-line and punch the ball in the direction of his own goal. It was like he'd invented his own new sport.

I'm with you on this, if people want a Vardy flag, let them buy one. You want Cambi, fine by me. Hell, I've got Status Quo on mine (Blue For You), and they never even played for us!

A flag is the least we can do to commemorate a football legend blessing our club for a year and leaving us with the priceless gift of Premiership football.
Voll Blau Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 Even someone like Arphexad, memorable for his Cup penalty saves who's become a bit of a cult hero as a result (in the kind of "90s footballers you'd forgotten existed" kind of way), but you wouldn't consider him a great. Junior Lewis was just shite and Peter Taylor's mate, there's no real humour in getting one done of him.
