brisfox Posted 8 October 2015 Author Posted 8 October 2015 The reason for Esteban, even though he was only here for a season, is that, without him we would be playing Rotherham United not Manchester United. Thought we should remember him . Wait till you see the flag and then judge
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 Not having a pop but why Cambiasso considering he is no longer an LCFC player? This! surely it should be one of our current crop? Vardy, Mahrez.. even De Laet should now be over Cambiasso. because they are club legends Cambiasso was here for 1 season If you can't celebrate having seen Cambiasso play for Leicester (even if only one season) then it makes me wonder how good you'd have to be to reach hero status (cult or otherwise). The guy came and played for a team way beneath his level, showed a real passion and commitment to the club, before topping it off with an instrumental part in the greatest ever escape. If that doesn't justify being comemorated then I don't know what does.... People sing about Iwan Roberts almost every bloody game! The Cambiasso chant should go into the Leicester song book and be regularly sung to celebrate a great story in the history of the club, never mind a flag.
bmt Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 Gotta be a flag with 11 Barry Hayles on... This x1000

Agreed, even just the picture of him celebrating against Man Utd in the 5 3 would be incredible. Appreciating the guy and remembering the match. Just added it as my thumbnail... solidarity with Cambiasso.
Russell sprout Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 Trevor Benjamin shouldn't be classed as an "anti-hero". He wasn't very good, but he tried and scored some good goals for us (I was there when he scored the winner at Pride Park). Winner at pride park, when was that?
Izzy Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 I don't get this 'anti hero' thing. Maybe it's just me, maybe I just don't see the humour, but I think it's bollux - sorry. If you're gong to go to the trouble of making a flag then surely it must of a proper City legend or current player. Do any other clubs have flags of anti-heroes or is it just special Leicester City irony? No one else even knows who Junior Lewis or Barry Hales is so why have a flag of them? Am I missing something?
Captain... Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 The advantage of having a Cambiasso flag over a Vardy/Mahrez/Drinkwater flag is that his time here is done and so can't tarnish his reputation. A flag of a current player could become unusable if they act like a dick or demand a transfer. Esteban Cambiasso one season wonder - love him As for anti-hero, I would rather see a Matt Oakley, Howard, Tiatto, Berner, Tunchev, Hume, Wellens, Joey Gudjonssen flag than any sort of ironic nod to some of the shite we've had play for us. They were all good servants to the club and should all be fondly remembered for a moment of genius, giving their all or just being a class apart.
Bettsj2 Posted 8 October 2015 Posted 8 October 2015 Winner at pride park, when was that? It was after we were relegated under Adams and before he resigned. Nalis scored too. Worth remembering that game Nathan Blake made his debut and was so bad, we were all calling for Trev to be brought on!!
J.Lisemore Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Andy King has got to be worth a mention if were thinking of a modern day legend for the club, and still with us.
filbertstreet Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Andy King has got to be worth a mention if were thinking of a modern day legend for the club, and still with us. At least the King Power logo would be relevant on that flag
brisfox Posted 9 October 2015 Author Posted 9 October 2015 Okay, we'll close the suggestions at noon on Saturday and then vote. Put your suggestions on here if you haven't already done so. I'll then get the flag made up
Fox92 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 We should have a flag of Claridge. He scored a play off final winner and a League Cup final winner. If that doesn't warrant a flag I don't know what does.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Here's a few flag designs I've made over the hour. They're not great and I'm no professional but thought it was worth a go. Feel free to use these designs but I got all these images from google images so copyright might be an issue (I don't know how it works with flags and flag company's in that area) Anyway here they are:http://www.footballflags.co.uk/pd/design?design_id=5617c87647684http://www.footballflags.co.uk/pd/design?design_id=5617c8929c8f5http://www.footballflags.co.uk/pd/design?design_id=5617c8b485a46
brisfox Posted 9 October 2015 Author Posted 9 October 2015 Those flag designs are really good but I think the Claridge idea is probably the best so far. He was there on two out of the three greatest days in Leicester City history, scoring the play off goal and winning the league cup. However by the time our greatest day came round, he had already left (The day Peter Taylor got sacked).
AyewJoking Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Nigel Pearson and before anybody soils themselves over how this would be disrespectful to Ranieri, think how Gokhan Inler is gonna feel when he sees the Cambiasso flag.
smudger63 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Nigel Pearson and before anybody soils themselves over how this would be disrespectful to Ranieri, think how Gokhan Inler is gonna feel when he sees the Cambiasso flag. Errm! NO!!! It would not be disrespectfull to Ranieri so much, as disrespectfull to our owners, who felt for whatever reason, that they were unable to work with Pearson any longer. Any flag with Pearson on, at the moment especially, i don`t think would go down too well with the owners, who would feel like it`s support for him against them.
Jimmy Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Pearson would deserve 1 but just not right now I'd say, still too soon after he was sacked
Fox92 Posted 9 October 2015 Posted 9 October 2015 Errm! NO!!! The man that guided us from League One to the Premier League and turned the club around - on and off the field - twice. No? Of course he deserves one, no doubt about it.

Swear some people think the Thai multimillionaires that own us are the most thin-skinned people on the planet. Fvck's sake, it's our club, heritage and history these flags celebrate. They're not going to withdraw their investment because of them.
