Bluearmyfox28 Posted 5 January 2016 Posted 5 January 2016 But it's reported we're supposed to be loaning him back for the season. If so, I can't see how that would help. Where have you been the last 2/3 days?
blue army 1988 Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 He's going no where. He will be playing today
Thracian Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 He's going no where. He will be playing today And good luck to him if he does. He can do no harm anyway.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 Looked decent today. Not going to displace NG/DD, but a decent change when needed...
4everfox Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 The scapegoat of 2015/2016... Having Gokhan Inler as a scapegoat shows how far we have come, we used to scapegoat DJ Campbell!
Webbo Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 The scapegoat of 2015/2016... He's not played often enough to be a scapegoat.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 Was impressed with him today. Hopefully he can build from today's performance!
Legend fox Posted 10 January 2016 Posted 10 January 2016 Was impressed with him today. Hopefully he can build from today's performance! This. Great cover if plays like that.
MPH Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 And against Spurs, no less.. Who had a decent strength line up.
desertfox2 Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Having Gokhan Inler as a scapegoat shows how far we have come, we used to scapegoat DJ Campbell! Wellens
Thracian Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 Having Gokhan Inler as a scapegoat shows how far we have come, we used to scapegoat DJ Campbell! Inler was never a scapegoat. He just didn't play well for all that some might have pretended otherwise. Most of us are glad to see an improvement and have said so just as readily as criticising the guy.
TMELcfc Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 He's not played often enough to be a scapegoat. Exactly, which pisses me off! Instead of get behind him I see too many criticising every little thing he does wrong...
Guest Col city fan Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 After yesterday's performance, keep him. He'll have a part to play no doubt.
goose2010 Posted 11 January 2016 Posted 11 January 2016 to many fans are to quick to judge, it is obvious he was going to take time to get up to speed, but yesterday him and king in the second half were class, playing against a full strength spurs midfield 5. Both deserve full credit.

Both deserve full credit. You're right both Inler and King were superb yesterday, the amount of ground they covered particularly King was immense. However Inler is a very experienced International and has played the game at the top level, it shouldn't really be taking him 6 Months to adjust to the Premiership. it didn't take Kante or Fuchs that long, or even young Gray playing his first game yesterday. With his experience I was expecting him to come into the midfield and take control of things a bit like Cambiasso. That clearly didn't happen, but I'm delighted that he's now starting to show his ability to control the ball and influence the game and hopefully he'll go on to play a big part in the 2nd half of the league.

Until then I'd not seen much at all. This thing about getting up to speed is nonsense too imo. How long has it taken Kante or Fuchs? Inler is growing on me a little now. I can see where MC was coming from.

Which of these players has been on the pitch as a regular starter and/or featured for large stretches of the first half of this season, may I ask you? It's all about match practice. Comparing Gray to Inler is like putting a Ferrari next to a Mercedes Benz limo - pointless. Gray and Inler occupy different spots on the pitch and have different roles. They're also separated by bloody 12 years of age (twelve years and one day, to be precise). And Gray has gotten to know life in the English football league way earlier. Inler hasn't been used that often down to tactical decisions by the manager - and Ranieri was proven right and he is proven right now, allowing Inler to blossom in a 4-1-4-1. May I also remind you that Kanté looked off his usual pace yesterday - you can't keep up the same performance on such a high level endlessly. At one point, the "second-string" has got to come into play.

When we have gone to 442 he looks more comfortable strange really.
