In a way, we are lucky Cambiasso went.

That's a new one !

Thinking about it, it did force the issue that there was a massive hole to fill; and we bought Inler and Kante as additional choices to the courting of Islam Slimani and Veretout.

I bet they have both kicked their agents in the b@lls.

Yeah, I didn't really expect that to fly!

Others who have seen more games than me would undoubtbly beg to differ. I never saw Cambiaso in the flesh, so what do I know?

You missed out then puss .... He was a maestro and a pleasure to watch, his vision, incisive passing and motivation to other players was brilliant .... But would he be better for us now than DD ?? ..... Possibly not ... But great to have on the bench and a (big) cut above Inler .... although I think he will improve if he stays.

Got to imagine with both James coming back to fitness and Amartey looking like signing we're all set for holding midfielders leaving Inler free to leave.

I'd be sad if he leaves - whatever his difficulties assimilating, he seems a good pro, has talent.........that one pass in the cup at Spurs gave us a glimpse of his pedigree, I hope we get to see more, but would understand if we don't.

He looked pretty pissed off on Wednesday when he didn't get to come on as a sub... I think in a way that's good as it shows he's hungry to play...

Going out on a loan move would be great.

If he plays a belter we'll be able to get more money for him than we would right now

I'd imagine both King and Inler will be on the bench against Villa and will be used in the Cup match next week. We can't run our club according to Inler's International requirements. Other players have the same considerations too but it's Leicester City paying their wages and for Leicester's manager to select his teams as he sees fit.

King had easily as much right to be aggrieved at not being picked as Inler, but he just gets on with it. What Inler's done lately - and at last - is to show enough improvement to at least merit a place in the squad. Whether he can add to that remains to be seen.

Biased eyes might see it differently but, for me, he's still not earned the right to take anyone's place.

Depending on where Claudio see's Amartey playing surely brings questions to Kings and Inler's future, i mean King is what 27 years old he doesn't want to be sitting on the bench and is he really going to get ahead of Ama, Kante, Drinky and you have the young lad coming through Hamza.

I have a feeling Drinkwater, Kante, Amartey, King & James will be our 5 central midfielders, next season. Inler to leave in the summer..

In retrospect he probably should have played a little bit against Villa.

In the second half we definitely needed someone to grasp the game by the balls - we couldn't hold on anything in the middle of the park.

The more I think about it the more baffling the Okazaki / De Laet substitution becomes. Absolutely baffling.

I agree, i would have thought he'd bring on Inler or Kind seeing how the game was going.

Swansea are allegedly after him.

Swiss tabloid "Blick" report today that the Welsh club, led by Inler's former manager Francesco Guidolin (whom he knows from his days at Udinese), would like to sign Inler on loan until the end of the season.

Might be a good move for all parties and Amartey's

He's a 'champion' as Claudio would say. Useful to have around, but unfortunately going out of the cup means his season is over.

Swiss newspapers say trying to sign Inler on loan comes with a heavy financial burden, which has prevented potential suitors taking him on - his loan fee for half a year/season is quoted as being in the region of 3 million Euro (£2.3m).

thought as much. massive money contract is the only reason he hasn't moved.
