FireFox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 But de Leat is best mates with Vardy De Laet isn't going anywhere. When he is match fit he will be starting again. Why else the substitute appearances recently?
Guest Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 De Laet isn't going anywhere. When he is match fit he will be starting again. Why else the substitute appearances recently? He's put on when we need an attacking threat who can cross the ball. Simpson is the better defender, De Laet is a far superior attacker. He's also capable of covering at CB which Simpson isn't. How can we progress with de laet I think CR sees him as a utility player and therefore good for the bench.
Babylon Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 De Laet isn't going anywhere. When he is match fit he will be starting again. Why else the substitute appearances recently? He was dropped for not great performances, nothing to do with his fitness as he was fine at the time.
FireFox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 He was dropped for not great performances, nothing to do with his fitness as he was fine at the time.Yes, but I am guessing Simpson will be dropped for not good performances once De Laet is back to fill fitness. Or once we buy a replacement.
sdb Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Simpson owns RB slot at the mo. Any other suggestion is ridiculous. RDL comes on when we need to match up a lighting quick winger or we're trying to nick a late goal. Have we even kept a clean sheet with RDL?

dannythefox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Yes, but I am guessing Simpson will be dropped for not good performances once De Laet is back to fill fitness. Or once we buy a replacement. Simpson is a better defender that's why he's been playing. De lat is better at getting forward to put crosses in that why we changed yesterday.

Gerard Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 De Laet on the wing? Jesus ****ing wept... Anyone notice that when he came on yesterday he was playing further forward than Mahrez.
LcFc_Smiv Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Anyone notice that when he came on yesterday he was playing further forward than Mahrez. To be fair they barely got out their box while he was on, credit to RDL though had sense to put low driven crosses in for an attack that possessed no height, everyone else was just lining Boruc up for catching practise.
Callabinho Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Anyone notice that when he came on yesterday he was playing further forward than Mahrez. Yes I am aware, I'm just laughing at the prospect of him being an alternative to Mahrez, when his passing is woeful, he can't anticipate play and he's general doggo.

Legend fox Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 This If we want to make serious strides we need better than RDL That's why we are signing gray
Adster Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 We need better than Simpson and De Laet. Both (especially Simpson) is doggo so a RB is a must this window. Get this lad in.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 We need better than Simpson and De Laet. Both (especially Simpson) is doggo so a RB is a must this window. Get this lad in. Simpson doggo..? Sorry what - he's been very good for us this season. Barely had a bad game and can actually defend.
Dan Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I appreciate what De Laet's done for us but I don't really see him as more of a back-up for us from here. De Laet as a winger would be almost rubbing Man Utd's nose in it. In which case I've decided we should do it.
Adster Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Simpson doggo..? Sorry what - he's been very good for us this season. Barely had a bad game and can actually defend. No, he really hasnt. His bad performances have been masked by the way we as a team have been doing well this season. I'm not going to explain why he's doggo, as I've stated it many times before on here and it's been proven game after game. Plus if people actually watch him closely they'll see why he's so bad. Its a position we desperately need to strengthen. He cannot defend because defenders actually tackle - all Simpson does is back away from the bastards and it's no surprise teams attack us from that side.
LegendOfJoe Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 in no way can you claim simpson has been "doggo". He stays back and offers cover on Mahrez - his job isn't to get forward and he doesn't have that "need" like De Laet to sprint forward in attack that in the end leaves us short at the back. Im very happy for him to stay back and not wrap around as much because Mahrez can make something out of nothing. id much rather simpson backed away, slowed the play down and waited for support than diving in. Yes its a position we need to strengthen but he's been as good as a new signing in my opinion. unlike when De Laet plays I'm not nervous when people are running at him
Callabinho Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Simpson is a good player, his defensive work is brilliant. But if counter attacking football is our "thing" then we need an attack minded full back....and not De Laet....
Guest Manini Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 Been made up with how Danny Simpson has played this season, I'm sorry but **"team performances hiding his bad performances" is bollocks isn't it. This is the premier league, weak links get found out very quickly, and he definitely doesn't look out of place this year. ** I'm obviously paraphrasing slightly
lgfualol Posted 3 January 2016 Posted 3 January 2016 I much prefer Simpson to De Laet. De Laet is awful as a right-back, him and schlupp had a competition in the first 8 games of who could be a worse defender. At least Schlupp was a striker up until the other year.
