weller54 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 How do we solve it?.. (awaits to be shot down in flames).....
weller54 Posted 2 January 2016 Author Posted 2 January 2016 ..we should get you on Mastermind Sybil... Specialist subject.. THE BLEEDING OBVIOUS!
Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Swap Mahrez and Albrighton over more frequently in games. Hardly ever swap and Mahrez really getting put on his right foot all the time
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 trying stringing a few passes together for a start rather than hoofing it?
lcfcsnow Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 It would help if we stopped hoofing the ball trying to play Vardy in at every opportunity, we should focus on what what we're best at and play Vardy in when the opportunity is there, otherwise you're just asking too much for him to make something of all these aimless balls. Giving up posession is one thing, but when we get the ball don't just gift it back to them with a hopeful long punt. As good as Fuchs and Simpson have been defensively, they are no threat going forward. There's no overlapping anymore, and if they do overlap, they don't pose the threat De Laet and Schlupp used to. The Fuchs long throw is pretty much useless too, all that's done is give us another chance to play a hopeful ball into the box. I suppose not playing Ulloa or Okazaki would be too much to ask for.
StanSP Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 wouldn't even call this a drought . people love a knee-jerk reaction on here. Fail to score in a couple more games and then you consider calling it a drought. but how to solve the lack of goals? tricky question but getting the ball in the back of the net would probably help.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 We aren't devoid of chances, we had several golden ones in the last 3 games, it just isn't going our way at the moment
NewEnglandFox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Put the ball inbetween them white post's like.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 We have become a hoofball side, unfortunately. Every opportunity we have we knock it long to Vardy, exciting when it comes off but god awful when the pass finds no one.
weller54 Posted 2 January 2016 Author Posted 2 January 2016 No one think vardy and Mahrez look a little burnt out then?.... And if they are our ONLY goal threat?
Tuna Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 A top 4 side not scoring in 300 minutes is a crisis.
NewEnglandFox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 What is plan B? Howe can we score when we aren't beating people with pace? We were confronted by the very issue in the last 30' today and our response was to put Dyer, Okazaki, and Vardy in the box and hope Fuchs could find them.

Fox92 Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Buy another striker. The only threat is Vardy, he's under so much pressure to score. We need another Ulloa-type player ie Charlie Austin.
Socks Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Give the lads a few games to get their stamina back, they have been outstanding and played out their skins for 18 games once that happens we will be firing again
Sir Shep Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 We aren't devoid of chances, we had several golden ones in the last 3 games, it just isn't going our way at the moment This
Soar Fox Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Get a new striker in. Vardy & Mahrez don't score we don't look like scoring. Okazaki & Ulloa aren't good enough, what have they got 4 between them?
Guest Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 A top 4 side not scoring in 300 minutes is a crisis. but only letting 1 in isn't bad.
shen Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 Well we might just have to take guilt-edged chances when they present themselves. Vardy, Morgan and Mahrez not scoring today given their respective opportunities is uncharacteristic. It doesn't help that no-one bar those two look like scoring. Credit to Kanté for pulling the trigger a couple of times, but it's not his best skill. Teams are happy to stand off and sit deep and stop Mahrez coming inside which we just have to be able to exploit with the supposed quality of our wide players.
LAprice_ Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 "Goal drought" suggests we're not creating chances. We are still creating lots of chances. Therefore, we don't need to change much at all. This game finished 0-0 but quite easily could've been 4-2. Everyone has an opinion on tactics and one that I would like to mention is Mahrez roaming from position. When playing on the wing he seems to drift inside ALL THE TIME, therefore making Ulloa's role non-existent. It leaves no attacking option on the right wing and often isolates Danny Simpson defensively. In the second half Ranieri temporarily fixed this by taking Ulloa off and moving Mahrez in-field. With all the debate surrounding our "second striker", couldn't we just start matches with Mahrez in the no.10 role? This allows for more width from natural wide players, such as Dyer, Albrighton and (when fit) Schlupp. It would also allow the full-backs to push forward.

Benguin Posted 2 January 2016 Posted 2 January 2016 I don't think we need to do a lot, for one thing we have 40 points and have played some excellent football and for another we have quality in our squad and I think goals will come flooding back soon. I think we need to give Krammy a run out next Sunday and give Vardy a break. I then think we need to urge Kante, Drinky and Albrighton to be less shy of goal. Maybe also we could grab Austin or someone else who will guarantee is goals. All of that said we still are one of the top pl scoring teams and have only failed to score in three. It just seems to be problematic because they're consecutive games. I fancy us to do over Spurs at both times of asking and if that fails and we're still on a 'Drought' we are fortunate to have Villa next and they will give us at least 3 goals.
