Vardy's Gaff

Enjoy your moments, I'd say, cos they're soon gone.

For me it's a celebration of what's possible if you give your all...and an incentive to achieve more.

I only display one momento of my sporting life - a photo playing world squash champion Qamar Zaman in an exhibition match in 1975.

It reminds me that I was fit once and it's always worth the effort trying to stay fit even though the rules are bent and it's a losing game in the end.

Oh yes, and also to believe in "impossible" dreams, because Zaman misheard the score and I won the game! :)

For Vardy I'm quite sure its material proof of how he's made so many crazy dreams come true. A bit like pinching himself to confirm it's all happened. And good luck to him. He's a right to be proud however he chooses to express it.

That's beautiful, Thrac.

All the money footballers have and they still have no style.

I wonder if you'd ever speak like that if you were hove to in the trenches with him.

Courage, determination, example, unfailing effort - that's the kind of style I'd take anytime over contrivance.

Tony "Grin and Blair It" had style and charm when he needed it - but what a bullshitter.

Since when did money guarantee style?  Incidentally, it's going to be a difficult transfer window if we only look at players who have style and good taste in their personal lives!

When I had a hot tub installed I bent over backwards - literally - to be nice to the installer.  Before he'd even left, I was an Executor of his will and godparent to his two strapping children.

It just goes to show, that if you put a bit of effort in with people it can reap rewards

Whenever I get a hot tub installed my PA always contacts the company to know that the fitter isn't allowed to talk to me or look directly at me in the eye.

I just want them in and out so I can fill it up with goat milk and bathe in peace.

Absolutely chavtastic but what do you expect from idolised young blokes with so much money to spend.

During installation, did the hot tub installer dig a trench? If so, did you get into the trench with him and was he courageous and determined?

Full credit to you for bending over backwards to help him. Next time, though, bending over forwards might be even more helpful. It could ease the fitting of suction joints and the insertion of piping.
