AKCJ Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 We've lost 2 premier league games all season and would be on a 3 game winning streak and 4 points clear if we Mahrez could take a pen. The fact that we call this as being out of form just shows how far we have come. Stoke are 3/1 for a reason. We've lost one home league game in about 10 months.
Danizen Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Kasper Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Drinkwater Kante Albrighton Mahrez Gray Vardy attack please Fancy.
Nalis Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Kasper Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Drinkwater Kante Albrighton Mahrez Gray Vardy attack please Mahrez in the middle didnt work v Villa. I'd put Shinji in the hole with Albrighton and Mahrez on the wings. If one is playing poorly, bring on Gray early in the second half.
Detroit Blues Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 I have a feeling we'll see a strong performance with a goal from Mahrez and Vardy, 2-1 Foxes. Schmeichel Fuchs Huth Morgan Simpson Mahrez Drinky Kante Albrighton Vardy Okazaki
BrummieFOX Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Are we really struggling though? We've set up the exact same way against the bigger teams for the majority of the season, we played an open attacking style against Arsenal and they killed us, therefore Ranieri rightfully changed his tactics when going up against the likes of Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool & Spurs, from those games in the league we picked up 9 points, I'd take that all day long. I can't see us approaching the Stoke game in a defensive way, I think Ranieri will revert to our usual 4-4-2 and hopefully we will be better off. Villa game was an off day but we didn't lose, Bournemouth was just one of those games, where neither side looked like scoring. After Stoke we have Liverpool, Man City & Arsenal and no doubt we will set up in a defensive manner and sit back; it could be frustrating and it's likely we could lose all three of those games, after them we have a decent period of games, if we struggle over that period then we have a right to worry. We did set up or set out to be incredibly defensively again though. I hope you're right and it's purely for this spell of games but it seems to me that we've lost our attacking mentality and are now looking to sneak 1-0 wins.
smr Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Don't think Gray will start after playing 90 today. Would guess Ranieri took Simpson off so no player for Saturday played the full game tonight, therefore would guess team as Kasper Simpson Huth Wes Fuchs Albrighton Kante Drinky Mahrez Vards Okazaki Hoping he rewards Chilwell with place on bench but predict subs will be Schwarzer Benny King Inler Dyer Gray Ulloa yep that'll be the team I'm sure.
Father Ted Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Schmeichel Albrighton Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Gray Okazaki Vardy Press them high up the pitch and be positive. If we sit back we will lose. **** this negative bollocks, were in the position were in because we OUTSCORE the opposition. Our best asset is our energy and high pressing. Us being a counter attacking team is a myth, we are a high pressing team so why suddenly change what's been working. Let's smash these 6 fingered twats.
Thracian Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Big game in the sense that I think we're in real danger of getting stuck in a bad run of form, especially given our three games after this. In an ideal world, we will go out, attack them like we did in the second half in September and run out sound 2-0 winners. These are good, but not exceptional. They're beatable for sure. Time to believe that. Don't approach this game trying to pinch a win. Go out and win with some conviction behind it like we'd been doing earlier in the season. Sadly I have a bad feeling about this game. 1-1 draw. The worst thing about our having just one win in the last seven matches is that we know that it should have been four wins and one less defeat because last night's game wouldn't have been played. So while our confidence and belief should be sky high, it's plummeted on the back of things which the team could do nothing about - ie two penalties for us and a penalty for Spurs in the Cup that shouldn't have been given. That said, our performances have suffered too and somewhere along the line we seem to have lost the atttitide that had us looking like we'd score every time we got a chance. Now it's as if those penalty misses have sucked our self-belief and we don't even look like scoring from the easiest positions. It's like we're being punished for not taking the gifts we were offered or are simply feeling sorry for ourselves and, more likely, not focusing or committing ourselves properly. What should we do about it? Well, the radical thing would be to go 3-5-2 and start scoring some goals again but we know Ranieri doesn't like that so, somehow we've got to trust to having two in central midfield or playing 4-5-1 with Shinji playing in non-man's land behind the one. With either of the second two options I'm not convinced we'll score or create enough, unless Mahrez somehow finds top form again. Selection-wise Albrighton is the biggest problem to me other than our need for a genuine second striker. He's a decent, adaptable and reliable player but he costs us dynanism because he's not a particularly fast breaker, he's not as good a crosser as some make out and he's next to no threat as a goalscorer...those last factors being vital to the way we've achieved success so far. However, put Albrighton in a different system and his strengths may come to the fore and his failings be less of a problem. To that end I quite like LCFC-World's 3-5-2 suggestion, especially as it might also give us some kamikaze options from set-pieces and the chance to involve others quite positively if things go wrong. I'm just not sure who's expected to latch onto our crosses with the selections he's made or whether we'd be consistently good enough to play the ball to feet or into useable space. Every way I look at our team options and possible tactics I see the desperate need for a specialist striker and an effective number 10.
Vicki Vixen Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 We have not lost a home league game since Arsenal. We have almost a full squad to choose from, Schlupp and James aside. Therefore I can't see why so much negativity, in my view we will play with confidence and take the game to them.

Every way I look at our team options and possible tactics I see the desperate need for a specialist striker and an effective number 10. Yes yes yes! Nail on the head! I also feel that Albrighton is far more effective as a right winger than from the left and that his attacking capabilities are also limited to allow Mahrez to play on the right and cut in. I would seriously consider 3-5-2. The players wouldn't need much adapting to it considering how well they played it last season and the 3rd man in midfield allows us to be flexible dependent on the opposition and how the game is going.

Easy to see too many touches on the ball and too many passing errors but it might offer a basis for moving forward.
Father Ted Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Also, I think people have finally realised just how important Schlupp is for us.
Kitchandro Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Are we really struggling though? Arsenal picked us off but other than Man City I don't think any other team would if we were at our best. You don't let one game change our style of play completely. I wasn't really that bothered when we lost that game, I was more impressed that we'd gone for it and tried to entertain. We were brave and fans appreciate that. Granted our expectations changed as time went on after that and more solid displays were welcome in certain games, but he's gone too far the other way now. We're playing that way against the likes of Villa and Bournemouth now so it's not just the big teams and it's become far more extreme than it was against Man Utd and Chelsea when we still offered a major threat as well as being better defensively.

Albrighton suffers because he plays on the left to accommodate Mahrez on the right. Fine when Mahrez is playing well, but as soon as he's out of form we essentially end up with 2 ineffective wingers. Regardless of what we do with Mahrez, we need to play a winger that is suited to the left side (Gray), instead of Albrighton. Then either replace Mahrez with Albrighton, or just keep hoping Mahrez finds his form again.
foxes21 Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Schmeichel Albrighton Morgan Huth Fuchs Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Gray Okazaki Vardy Hope this is the team. I have criticised Schlupp but we miss his direct runs from DEEP. Albrighton can do this and it will free Up Riyad too

dibbdroid Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 At the first sign of a little lack of form everyone (not quite) becomes fickle, forgets all the good work and starts whingeing, moaning and booing. A sure fire way to bring the team down and the mood. And is our bad patch so bad? 0-0 with Manc City is good, 0-0 against Bournemouth involved a penalty miss so we should have won but they parked the bus and we misfired. Away win at Spurs fantastic result. Villa 1-1, another penalty miss, Villa were awful and we didn't put them away. Overall not too bad so where oh where is this crisis?????

But come on, the performances since the Everton game have been poor!.. Take off the rose tinted specs. The win at Spurs was incredibly fortunate and a home draw with Bournemouth somewhat lucky.. They could/ should have been 2 up at halftime and the controversial sending off went in our favour, and even then we didn't score and scrapped a 0-0! Villa was awful!!.. They were there for the taking and we still couldn't put them away! Then.. Last night.. Which quite frankly was embarrassing! ...hope this is a blip but somehow I'm not so sure.. The Stoke game will tell us everything we need to know.
deliasmith Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Leicester-based Stoke fan here. We're very pleased to see big Robert flourishing. We miss him very much, and we hope you appreciate our contribution. We'll always value a similar transfer in the other direction .

foxes161 Posted 21 January 2016 Posted 21 January 2016 Get back to what got us top in the first place
