David Hankey Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Tomorrow's game will see LCFC get back on track with a victory. I'm sure Ranieri has impressed upon his squad the importance of this game.
oxtonfox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 A big game for us where we need to get back on the bike again. We were pretty poor against Tottenham in the Cup (well 3 of the 4 halves) of those games. We were poor against Villa aswell. Not happy with the way we are playing just giving the ball up, playing too deep (MON observed this) and waiting for the breaks. Eventually the likes of Stoke will find a way through. So we need to be hard at it with a passion like in the Autumn and early December. I expect Vardy and Okazaki will play. Mahrez and Albrighton on wings and Kante and Drinky in the middle. It's going to be tight and boy do we need to win this one given the matches coming up. I expect Gray to come on at some stage; not sure who else but hopefully not Dyer as he lost the ball 99% of the time he had it in the Cup games.
leicesterseddon Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Well, here are my thoughts... 1. We have to revert back to 4-4-2 - and I fully expect that CR will do so. 2. It is tempting to call for Gray to start, but both Mahrez and Albrighton still deserve their places in the side. 3. Having said that, Mahrez needs to have a good game because he hasn't for a while now. 4. Okazaki should start upfront alongside Vardy. Ulloa should be on the bench. 5. Schmeichel needs to stop kicking out to our wingers; it rarely works and all we do is give the ball away. Roll it our to the full-backs like we did at the start of the season. I'm increasingly coming round to the point of view that we aren't going to finish in the top 4 this season unless we sign a striker. However, it's certainly still possible, so let's give it a right good go.
Babylon Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Tough game, quality outfit are Stoke with a good defence (ours and there's over the last 15 are the best in the league). Would be nice to see a bit of positive play to start getting back on track.
TrentFox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Tough, tough game. Stoke looked pretty organised and strong against Arsenal the other day. Especially in central midfield. Could be Spurs all over again.
oxtonfox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Thinking about this - if Vardy plays then Stoke's back line will stay deep - which should mean our midfield and the back four can push up themselves a bit more. I got a feeling Kante will be key here if he can drive forward with the ball.
Foxxed Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Not happy with the way we are playing just giving the ball up, playing too deep (MON observed this) and waiting for the breaks. Eventually the likes of Stoke will find a way through. Don't necessarily disagree but... Devil's advocate: Given even before xmas our opponents had the most possession and we were waiting for breaks, and we were playing higher up, couldn't you have also said then "Eventually the likes of [whoever] will find a way through"? I hope we do play higher up the pitch, give them possession and wait for a break, but only given fitness for it and having a decent attacking option.
oxtonfox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Foxxed - Nigel Pearson was always on about game management; or likely ball management. We need to be spot on tomorrow with that . This game will be tight as a badgers; they have got big defenders so getting them turning will be key but I expect they will stay deep and wait for us to come on to them aswell. This time we will need to keep the ball better and thread those accurate passes into gaps.

I've got no problem sitting deep if they have the ball... we just need to be so much better with the ball when it comes back to us. Have a plan, have movement, support each other getting forward... pass to a blue shirt and not the blue sky.
M0901 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 I really like Glenn Whelan He's a huge player for them, and their unsung hero, a bit like Morgan for us If he has an off game I guarantee we'll find holes in their midfield Just need to revert to our old high intensity play

surrifox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Need to be winning all our home games now so expect 1-1
Fennec-Fox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Schmeichel Albrighton Huth Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Gray Vardy Okazaki That's just my thoughts ... I think Claudio did change Simpson with Mark in the cup game as testing...because maybe he wanted to start Gray but still with keeping Albrighton ... Who to take off ? Simpson ... Just a thought
norwichfox Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Kasper S Simpson Huth Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Kante Drinkwater Gray (for 45mins) Vardy Okazaki (for 75 mins) Subs: - Schwarzer, Wasilewski, Inler, King, Dyer , Albrighton 2nd 45 mins, Ulloa last 15 mins I'll take a 1-1 draw, as long as Arsenal, Man City and spurs get stuffed

Wymsey Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Shawcross and Butland are decent, and don't understand why they haven't been relied on by England.
I blame Wellens Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 They have dangerous players that can shoot from distance so please no sitting back lads. From the off get in their faces. Please Claudio forget the idea of holding out in the first half and pushing on in 2nd.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Love a football Matchday on a Saturday. Really looking forward to tommorow.
biggs Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 3-1 Win and all the thoughts of a poor form are thrown out the window for a week
Finn Claw II Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Tough game, depends on which LCFC attack turns up. A goal apiece for Mahrez and Vardy and I'll be happy
Raw Dykes Posted 22 January 2016 Posted 22 January 2016 Can Amartey play in this? I don't think he's registered in time.
