How young were you for your first Leicester match?

That long ago I can't remember but I know I was on someones shoulders and had a great view.

 

 

Remember now I was 22.

Remember it well. I was 8 years old Grandfather took me I remember being bought a huge Blue and White Rosette which was pinned onto my blazer. We went into the Kop end and I can remember the crowd noise and the pushing and shoving. Grandfather managed to get all the way down the front and I was pushed between two other lads and sat on the small wall that adjoined the pitch. I remember staring at a Copper as he strolled around the pitch I was thinking god how big are his feet. We played Sheff United at home I remember Shilton being in goal think we won 2 1 I remember we won but can't remember the exact score. After that day I was hooked forever.

Probably 74/75 season so I would have been 5/6. Mum and Dad were both STH's so I got dragged along.

Loads of family night football back in the day. First one I properly remember was against Liverpool, sat in the Carling Stand, Robbie Fowler came on. I've never been that cold since, it was bitter.

First league game was in the Double Decker against either Blackburn or Ipswich, I can't properly remember, I think I was 5 or 6.

Oxford Utd at Filbert street.  Sat in the main stand.  The most boring 0-0 draw ever I think.  Remember being highly amused by the " what a load of rubbish" chant at fulltime, not realising the anger amongst the Leicester fans, just enjoyed joining in with it

I was 11 so 26 years ago this year. It was a Boxing Day game v Watford which finished 4-4. Ian Ormonroyd scored a very late equaliser if I remember. My first experience of standing in the Kop at Filbert Street.

Have taken my kids daughter 3 and son 4 to their first games, son is now 6 and has been 12 times I think.

I'm from US, but have family in Loughborough. Went to the second leg of Worthington Cup where Elliot scored the goal to book our trip to Wembley.

 

Have since been back a few more times to The Walkers, but sure did I choose a good first match.

I was a late starter. My first game was when I was about 16 for the FA Cup Third Round game at Filbert Street between Brian Little's City and Crystal Palace. Richard Smith scored a last minute winner.

Early 90s, Filbert St, I think it was Peterborough, my Dad says Coventry. Either way I'm 90% sure the away side were sponsored by Thomas Cook and I'm 95% sure Leicester lost.

10 - March 1963, at home to Spurs. Stood at the front behind the Kop goal, in those days it was more of a family stand, plenty of small kids in that part of the ground.

Anyway drew 2-2, Jimmy Greaves famous disallowed goal that crossed the line one second after the half time whistle blew. Fell in love with Leicester that day, although my first ever hero was Jimmy Greaves, until Frankie came along!

And in all the excitement I got the year wrong. I remember nothing about the game except wondering if I'd ever find my dad again after the goals. I swear I ended up 3 or 4 steps down from him!

Aged 5 for me. August 1999 1-0 home win against Watford. Muzzy with the only goal. 2nd game was my 6th Birthday in that 5-2 Sunderland game Collymore Hat Trick.

What a game that win over Sunderland was ! .... remember it like it was yesterday ...... Bit of downhill after that.

7, literally no idea what the occasion or opposition was, only thing i remember is they were giving out stretch banners with 'GOAL' on

edit: have a feeling it was the first game at the Walkers against Bilbao in 2002 - can anyone confirm the existence of these banners in that game?

November 1975. We beat Burnley 3-2 at Filbert Street in the old First Division. My dad took me and we sat in the Wing Stand. I can still recall the smell of the hot dog and hamburger stands outside the ground. Probably had my first hot dog that day too. I was 8.

 

Forty years later I saw my first game of the season against Stoke on Saturday and what a game it was. My dad came with me too, but we had to drop him off near the ground before parking as he doesn't walk as well these days.

 

We'll be back in April for the West Ham game too.

Leicester 0-1 Rotherham, not the best ever introduction to the game. Thankfully I persisted!
