steveherbe Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 And in all the excitement I got the year wrong. I remember nothing about the game except wondering if I'd ever find my dad again after the goals. I swear I ended up 3 or 4 steps down from him! I'm not as old as I thought then! Bonus for you!!
January19th1974 Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 Aged 15. January 19th 1974. v Ipswich. My brothers' birthday, he was 14. A cousin of ours was up from Portsmouth and asked if we wanted to go. I didn't fancy it, i used to go to Leicester Tigers in those days, but went anyway. A 5 - 0 win, Peter Shilton in all white and we were hooked. We celebrated 42 years of support last week. I first took my son when he was about 3. Stood in the kop with him on my shoulders as the players came out, then he would run around the terraces during the game happy as Larry.
Suffolk exile Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 6 - It was 1979 West Ha, we lost 0:2. We sat in the DD upper tier. I was sat behind a pillar and couldn't see a lot.
costonfox Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 6 Spurs 1963 cannot remember result ,couldn't see much as I remember on my dads shoulders ,this is the best side I have seen but still miss cambiasso truly brilliant he must be kicking himself,I have never been happier or prouder to be off the staff
Guest Electric Yetis Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 7, literally no idea what the occasion or opposition was, only thing i remember is they were giving out stretch banners with 'GOAL' on edit: have a feeling it was the first game at the Walkers against Bilbao in 2002 - can anyone confirm the existence of these banners in that game? Can't remember them being given out then but they were definitely given out before our 0-5 defeat to Bolton at Filbert Street in 2001.
It'sblueupnorth Posted 26 January 2016 Posted 26 January 2016 4. Preston away, think I sat in the home end with my dad though. Lost 2-0
agilis07 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 My first post on here. My uncle took me to Filbert St when I was ten years old in 1969 v Norwich. We won 3 nil. Great game. That was before we emigrated to Oz. Stated following city when I was 7 - this year it is my 50th birthday of following City! It is so gratifying and amazing to see us doing so well at the mo.
Carl the Llama Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 10 against Tranmere in the Wortho cup final. Barely remember that day other than the image of Elliott rising to meet that 2nd header which has been permanently etched in my brain.
themoralkiosk Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 10. Lost 2-1 to West Ham at Filbert Street. Tony James own goal I was the (unlucky) mascot for that West Ham game! Mine was a 4-2 win over Swansea at home in the Milk Cup in '86 - I was 7.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 5, for this game: http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/championship/leicester-city-vs-rotherham-united_game_23088.html#$$o1kwm5&&pi0eSsRyEeWRqBKpeCMVbw$$ Leicester 0-1 Rotherham, not the best ever introduction to the game. Thankfully I persisted! Christ, I remember that game. On boxing day, and they were bottom of the league! Was livid!
Tringfox Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 1983, 8 years old, Leicester vs Newcastle, can't remember the score but remember Keegan playing for Newcastle!!
Wymsey Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 Around 7/8. Remember that it was on a Sunday, as the club used to do a Sunday Carvery thing there, and was excited for the food and watching a game for the first time. Does anyone know whether they still do the Sunday Carvery thing?
onekeithweller Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 My first post on here. That was my second City game. Bolton three days earlier was my first. I also went with my uncle. Good old uncles.
Hirsty The Blue 94 Posted 27 January 2016 Posted 27 January 2016 What a game that win over Sunderland was ! .... remember it like it was yesterday ...... Bit of downhill after that. Indeed. My entire time supporting Leicester was largely disappointment and failure. This is why I enjoyed the Pearson seasons and this year so much, it's just a change from finishing between 20th and 14th in the Championship.
Trelleh Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 5 years old, against Everton at Filbert Street, 2000. 1-1 and Gazza played for them..
Vardinio'sCat Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Maybe 8 or 9, in 75/76. I remember Whitworth, Wallington and Woollett, and being too short to see very well, and the almighty noise! Amazingly, we got given tickets to the kop by the schools FA a few times. Don't suppose that happens any more.

Wow - i don't believe it! that was the same game as my first when my grandad took me. I was 9 and we sat in double decker. Fantastic as Claudio would say. If I remember correctly it was a Saturday night at 7:30 that was a one-off in itself. 5-0! A Frank Worthington hat-trick with a couple of penalties. Since then I have seen over 100 games or so and only seen City lose twice to Notts County in the Cup in the 80s and Norwich in the Levein days at the then Walkers. Maybe I should go back!
Nuneatonfox in Manchester Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 12 years old 0-0 bore fest with charlton haha Absolutely loved filbert street though. Never looked back.
Ike O'Noclassed Posted 28 January 2016 Posted 28 January 2016 Aged 10, April 1963. We beat Man U 4-3 and went back to top of the table. Thought it was going to be like this every week .... .... it's taken nearly 52 years but I've been proved right.
TiffToff88 Posted 29 January 2016 Posted 29 January 2016 My sister took her son to his first City game 4 years ago, at 8 days old! The story made it into the Leicester Mercury, rumored to be Leicester's youngest ever fan Personally, i was 7, it was the 2-0 FA Cup win over Enfield at Filbert Street back in January 1995
Wycombe Fox Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 I was 6. City v Bristol City, October 1969. We won 2-0
Great Boos Up Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 Don't remember the game. My parents moved here before me while I was at boarding school. But on a trip up from Oxford (still watching Matt Elliot at the Manor Ground) I made a friend and he took me into the posh seats. I do remember looking at David Pleat and I know Leicester scored because I spilt my coffee.
Niffy Posted 31 January 2016 Posted 31 January 2016 I was 10 years old my uncle took me and my brother to watch city play Aston villa for some reason we were standing in the away end ( no idea why probably only tickets he could get) I remember a villa fan asking my Bro to move so they could see and he just ignored them then when we scored we all started cheering and my uncle was trying to keep us calm, I ended up working at filbert Street selling blue army bonanza tickets, free ticket and got paid for it
