Top 10 favourite matches from current era

Right seeing as the players have been on holiday and there is no game so we are a bit thin on the ground for things to talk about I thought I would be interesting to see what peoples favourite games from this era. Mine are below in order.

Oh and by this era I mean from the start of pearsons second reign.

1. Manchester United Home 5-3 I'm not sure this would be number 1 if it happened now we are a bit more used to winning at this level but at the time we had just spent 10 years in the championship or worst and it really was the most unbelievable thing I had witnessed. I still have the full game on my sky plus.

2. Nottingham Forest Away 3-2 last game of the season, against our firciest rivals, depending on other results the winner goes into the play offs, neither of these East Midlands giants had been in the prem for years, 91st minute, Wood to Knockeart...... I said to my dad after that was a once in a decade kind of football moment little did I know it was just the start.

3. West Brom away 3-2 if the West Ham home game had given us a tiny glimmer of hope of avoiding the drop this game gave us genuine belief. It was a breathtaking game. We were behind twice a point was OK but probably not going to be enough. It's the 94th minute and Jamie Vardy picks the ball up in his own half.....

4. West Ham home 2-1 the press had written us of as already down,no one in history had stayed up being as far adrift as we were. cambiasso comes out in the press and says keeping us up would be up there with winning the campions league the club puts 32,000 cardboard clappers on seats and Pearson changes to an attacking 3 5 2 and Andy King club legend who played in for us in leauge 1 pops up unmarked in the box in the 86th minute. This was undoubtedly the start of the run and arguably the club is still riding the wave of momentum that started at this game.

5. Watford away 3-0 we were all carrying the scars of so called 'deeney day' around with us going into this game. Watford for their part rubbed salt directly into those wounds by playing it on the big screen and their stupid mascot running the length of the pitch to "recreate" it what followed was revenge of the most glorious kind as we absolutely ripped them apart. and for knockeart to score after he had experienced their fans on the pitch screaming in his face as tears rolled down his cheeks put the cheery ontop of a truly great game.

6. Man City away 3-1 the moment the world started taking our title chase seriously who would have thought going to places like Yeovil we would one day be witnessing scenes like this. Wasn't a smash and grab either we murdered them.

7. Burnley away 2-0 a lot of great games in our championship winning season but this one stands out as I think it was the moment we knew it was finally happening after a decade in the wilderness 2-0 away against our closest rivals for the title with wood's stunning volley in front of an away end that was going absolutely mental made this a truly great game.

8. Liverpool home 2-0 always great to beat one of the traditional big boys but being in a rocking filbert way when that goal went in was truly special.

9. Spurs Away 1-0 they haven't played anyone good away they said.... What a great defensive performance and huths header is one of my all time favourite city Goal the power he got on a dropping ball, a mans goal from a mans man lol

10. Derby home 4-1 at the time this was the best I had seen us play in years and always special to spank Derby and looking back you can see us starting to show some of the characteristics that we are now famous for: closing down high up the pitch, attacking with pace and Vardy giving their sorry defenders nightmares.

Writing that makes me realise just how lucky we are these are truly special times and they won't last forever anyway interested to see other peoples lists.

Good choices. Think those top 8 would be in my top 10, but 2-1 Chelsea and then maybe Sunderland or QPR games from end of last season.

Man City 3-1 - Just complete annihilation, couldn't believe what I was watching.

United 5-3 - Thrilling, barmy, don't think I've ever felt so smug and content as a Leicester fan in my life.

Chelsea 2-1 - Sure they're doing poorly, but to beat the Champions in style was wonderful.

Liverpool 2-0 - Always good to beat Liverpool. And that goal from Vardy...

WBA 3-2 - I remember Vardy dispossessing McCauley and I just thought "this is it..."

Burnley 1-0 - Proper backs to the wall scrap.

Leeds 1-0 - See above. I don't think I've celebrated a winner as much as I celebrated Nugent's goal that day.

Derby 4-1 - Played the best football I'd seen us produce in a decade at least.

Spurs 1-0 - Another great 1-0 away win. I completely lost my shit when Huth scored.

Forest 3-2 - An obvious choice.

1. Leicester 5-3 Man Utd - Incredible comeback, probably the best game I've ever witnessed to date. Some commentary moments in this I will cherish for the rest of my life. Great atmosphere, amazing celebrations.

2. Burnley 0-2 Leicester - A pivotal step towards promotion back to the Premier League. Two quality goals from Nugent and Wood, especially Wood's volley for the second goal, a real great strike and wonderful celebrations from the fans in the away end.

3. Man City 1-3 Leicester - Immense performance, and to win & score three goals away at Man City really outlines the quality we have. Huth with two good goals, great movement for the first, and his second of the match was a fantastically placed header. Mahrez's finish was simply world class, the skill and the finish, outstanding.

4. Leicester 2-1 West Ham - This win started the great escape of 2014/15. The introduction of the clap banners and every fan did really well to create such an atmosphere for the players. A superb Cambiasso strike got us started, West Ham then equalized but it took character from the players to get that winning goal and a vital 3pts. The ball was crossed in, Kramaric to Vardy, and then Andy King notched the ball into the net to gives us the morale boosting, important win. Over the years, King has stayed with us since League 1, his loyalty has been first class and he has always come up with those moments of quality/goals which have been so imperative for the club. This game was another example of this.

5. Bolton 0-1 Leicester - The night we were officially crowned champions. And I was so happy for Lloyd to do it for us. A sensational goal from the edge of the box. Those moments at full time, the singing, the celebrations between the players and fans, amazing to be part of. It was nice to get the league title trophy after a consistently fantastic season of winning and gaining points throughout. I've said for ages now the key in the Championship is consistently, and we were exactly that. A great season for the football club.

6. Nottm Forest 2-3 Leicester - A last minute winner to get us in the play offs. An amazing moment, incredible celebrations from the fans and players alike.

7. Watford 0-3 Leicester - One of my favorite ever away days in recent times. I didn't notice the first goal went in until I heard a cheer and I then realized the goalie's kick had hit Wood and gone into the net. Loved running down the stairs to celebrate with the players after Knockaert's and Dyer's goal, Super atmosphere.

8. Leicester 2-0 Liverpool - A wonder goal from Vardy for the first and could well be goal of the season, the curve and accuracy was just sublime. His second was actually a real decent finish as well, he did ever so well to react onto the ball following the deflection and slide it into the net, considering it was bobbling too it was a very good finish.

9. Leicester 4-1 Derby - An impressive performance throughout from the whole team. Alongside the contenders for the best performance in years. In all fairness to Derby we were just sublime the whole 90 and when a team plays like that, it will ultimately lead to a strong win a majority of the time.

10. Swansea 0-3 Leicester - I have to say this is where I thought, we really do look such a solid quality Premier League side at this level. Swansea are not a bad side, and to win comfortably against sides like Swansea really outlined to me the level we have stepped up as a club.  A clean sheet, a Mahrez hattrick, just a perfect 3pts you could hope for, a complete performance.

I could easily of missed a few others, as there has been some sensational victories in this current era.

Good topic!

I'd personally put the 3-1 Man City first as it gave us respect from the media in the sense that many stopped thinking we were simply going to fall away for then onwards.

No idea why so many haven't included the Villa 3 - 2 game.

Dyer died to save us that game!

My memory is getting worse in my old age. Great game and definitely in the top 10...
