I think they're really over-emphasising the 'unfashionable Leicester' angle. Leicester is an urban area of half a million people and has had a top flight football club for around 50 different seasons. After watching that you'd think it was Melton Mowbray who was top of the Premiership! That's the impression I got too. It was almost as if this was the most interesting thing that had ever happened in Leicestershire.
