goose2010 Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 it is strange to think really that we are more than likely going to be in the champs league. Anyone else saving holiday from work for European away days? I imagine they advise not to travel if you don't have a ticket? I think I would still go if it was easy enough to get to. Best case - Brugges, Athletico Madrid and Anderlect. Worst - Bestikas, CSKA and Lech Poznan

SemperEadem Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Not wanting anything the coach 1 mob can rally a coach to and sit down at.
goose2010 Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Er, why is that the worst case scenario? Three unreal atmospheres. A city in Turkey currently isn't exactly on my places to go list. Not sure if you have been to Moscow but its not exactly an easy place to be for a Brit and imagine its even worse following a football team and Lech was just the only team I could think of that I wouldn't fancy going to. Again these are my best and worse cases.
ScouseFox Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 cant remember if ive ever videoed anything at a footy game before but when they play the champions league anthem and ronaldo shakes hands with wes morgan i'm getting my camera phone out
C-man Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 UEFA stipulate a minimum of 5% must be given - eg Dortmund have been given 1,800 by Spurs. I imagine there will be substantial segregation so not sure how many more tickets would be available for Leicester fans. That said if the polis were paying more attention to the Arsenal - Barca game then they'll think it'll be a cakewalk. That Barcelona away end was the worst I have ever seen. Should be thrown out of Europe levels of bad.

Again these are my best and worse cases. I went to Galatasaray away two years ago for a CL game. Absolutely unreal. Besiktas would be even better as the new stadium is so close to the Bosphorus. Moscow I understand because it's an absolute ballache getting a visa although it is an amazing city. Poznan would be a cheap piss up and would educate our fans on how to create an atmosphere. Sounds decent to me. I'm more interested in your best case scenario. Why those three? Surely Real would be better than Atletico? Ideally I want three places where I'm a little fearful of being kicked in and not been before . Napoli, Olympiakos and Sporting Lisbon pls.

Just been looking at the new Besiktas stadium I thought they were already in their new stadium, I may change my mind on that one! Like I said it is a personal thing I have been to real a few times and always had a soft spot for Athletico I guess they were the under dogs for so long.

Sol thewall Bamba Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 All over Napoli mate that'd be mad. I dont; want to get stabbed in the arse
Soup Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I dont; want to get stabbed in the arse I don't fancy that either but I'm betting they've got some massive fences to climb
Dan Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Surprised at that allocation. What are the reasons behind that?
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I don't fancy that either but I'm betting they've got some massive fences to climb I'm sure the whole away end it enclosed in netting to stop anyone getting at you, plus this happened to Swansea a few years back http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-south-west-wales-26398545 Just seems more hassle than it's worth

How hard would getting to Russia actually be? I've heard a lot of talk but I've never actually been that sure about what's so tricky about it all.
UPinCarolina Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Anyone here part of the 21 passports that would need surrendering?
RowlattsFox Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 I've been looking at potential qualifiers, hertha would be great. Easy to get too, should be a decent allocation. Fancy a trip to Monaco too. Chances of getting a ticket may be slim but will probably go without if east enough.
WesMorganGod Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 the foreign fans who come for champions league nights at the King Power will be terrified of the clappers, they may as well forfeit.

C-man Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 How hard would getting to Russia actually be? I've heard a lot of talk but I've never actually been that sure about what's so tricky about it all.Well it's not hugely difficult unless you are me and manage to go to the London visa centre on a Russian bank holiday when the fvcker is closed. (In fairness the website says 'stated holidays' which I assumed would be UK bank holidays, not Russian). It's just the pain and expense of having to take a day off work (2 in my case) to go down there, hand your passport over for a week or so (not ideal if you're already travelling to other Euro aways) and get biometrically tested. Plus the visa itself is about £130 and some hotels charge extra for giving you the tourist voucher that allows you to get the visa in the first place. All in all I wouldn't do it again unless I absolutely had to. (ie City get drawn there on 30/8).

I would LOVE to go to a Turk match...does n't surprise me that you said Gala was unreal as those Turks are bonkers but brilliant at creating an atmosphere "
coolcol Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 How hard would getting to Russia actually be? I've heard a lot of talk but I've never actually been that sure about what's so tricky about it all. I would be a little cautious about any Russian team, not due to cost or distance but the craziness of the Russian fans, and their desire to have a punch-up with ANY away fans. That is the impression I get anyway.
CosbehFox Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Our fans going away I'll be surprised If they don't do the "added value" trips Official Flight tickets coaches etc... For a fixed price I'm led to believe some clubs do 1000-1500 of these Used too. Not so much now. It's an awful lot of money for clubs to gamble when budget airlines can do it cheaper and people don't mind of an adventure
harpendenfox Posted 29 February 2016 Posted 29 February 2016 Delighted a couple of plod get paid overtime to watch Arsenal v Barcelona. Such hard work
