n'golofan Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Vardy and Kante will stay. I think Mahrez might leave, if he does, leicester should buy Ousmane Dembele (Rennes). he is a very talented player.
Gerard Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 One of the worst types of recruitment is buying squad players. We have to go out and sign maybe 4 top players in the view that they'll get in our first team, then possibly 1 or 2 talented youngsters. We have to take advantage of the money and position we will find ourselves in next season Couldn't agree more. The only exception to buying players that aren't expected to be first team players are very young players with huge potential or very cheap of free players who can do a job of covering for a year or two. For example getting a 30 year old GK on a Bosman wouldn't be a bad idea if he would be certainly the second best GK at the club. IMO the players who have their position safe for next season are Schmeichel, Drinkwater, Kante, Mahrez & Vardy. If the other six positions can be improved upon with the right player for the right money we should.

TJB-fox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Where did I say that?! I said buy better than what we've got!Chill man I didn't say you did. But, you did say 'may as well try and buy better than what we've got' or something similar. All I'm saying is we shouldn't go about it any other way, as buying 'squad players' would be unbelievably stupid
Gerard Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Hopefully 95% of our signings come from abroad. I think we need 4 to 6 new players. Replacing De Laet, Inler, Wasyl, Schwarzer and Kramaric as I don't think any of these will stay. For me we need to offload from the first team squad: Hamer De Laet Moore Benalouane Inler Kramaric Ulloa No new contracts for: Schwarzer Dyer Konchesky Hammond

Agreed - unless they're youngsters with great potential (i.e. Amartey, Gray types).
Finnegan Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 We should make cheeky bids for Alexis Sanchez, Eden Hazard and Lukaku. I know Hazards attitude is questionable but Wasyl will soon slap that out of him and have him playing well again. Lukaku can be lured by CL football. Sanchez can be lured by not having to play with soft as shite bottlers every week. All that's left is a CB. Smalling should do the trick. It should all cost around £130m but it would be money well spent. Not sure if serious.
Bettsj2 Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Sell Kramaric, RDL, Moore and Inler then buy every ****er.
dbtcity Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 We need to keep the core of our players and add a few in key areas ie CB rb rw(if Mahrez leaves) and another striker, I feel quite confident the majority will be happy staying next season although I have a feeling that if 1 of the elite clubs came in for Mahrez he'd be handing in a transfer request and would eventually force a move.... If that were to happen I would love us to test the water with a bid for bolasie
Durnerz Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Keep signing the players under the radar, hungry players who want to work for the team that fit our model. I personally wouldn't chase big names for the sake of shirt sales but I don't think that's our style. We have such a great model now that I wouldn't be too concerned if Mahrez left for example as our scouting team have been amazing in what they have found.

We have such a great model now that I wouldn't be too concerned if Mahrez left for example as our scouting team have been amazing in what they have found. Except it took a huge bit of luck to find Mahrez. How would you like Ryan Mendes instead? Because we have good people (which is exactly why it's concerning losing a lot of talent like MacKenzie and Wigglesworth, etc.), we'll be more likely to hit. But it's still improbable.
Manwell Pablo Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 I think we have to win it to keep Mahrez and Kante. We will lose at least one even if we do possibly. I can't see one of europes elite not coming in for kante.
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 One thing is for sure, from now on people will know who we are !! I reckon there will be plenty of agents getting in touch, we might even have the luxury of picking and choosing. Stay away from over-priced players, spend it wisely and think longer-term with youth, hunger and potential.
Webbo Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 We will lose at least one even if we do possibly. I can't see one of europes elite not coming in for kante. You're probably right. We could probably offer them 80-100k a week but the only thing that'll keep them here is if we play the loyalty card and appeal to their better nature.
martyn Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Obviously the hope would be that Mahrez and Kante can be persuaded to have a season with us in the Champions League (assuming of course we end up with group stage confirmed). If we progress past the groups, stay until the end of the season, otherwise allow them to leave in January as long as the price was still right.
n'golofan Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Don't you worry about Kanté, he will stay. He is loyal! And I think he knows Leicester is the perfect team for his style of play. I am from Caen and our teams play the same way, we usually don't have the possession of the ball, we leave it to the opponent, we intercept (Kanté does that very well) and we counter-attack very fast and vertically. That's why he was able to adapt so fast, his former team used to play the exact same way. He knows that he would not be as good as he is if we was playing for Arsenal, Barcelona... It is amazing the similarities between Leicester and Caen, we were both in second league two years ago. We were both last of the premier league (or Ligue 1) at Christmas 2014, we both made a fantastic second-half of the season last year and we are both at the top (or near the top for Caen) of the league this year.
Dan Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Keep doing what we're doing. Keep pining for bargains and younger players who's value will grow with the club. Don't fall into the myth that you have to go and splash money for the sake of it. It's the single biggest mistake clubs in this country make - that's why you end up with the highest net spend of any league in the world by a mile and an overall lower standard.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 15-25m rated players are probably what I'd like us to look at in terms of new signings. High calibre players who have the potential to compete well in both the BPL and CL. It would be excellent if we could keep this group of players together as well. Although knowing how well we've done regarding player recruitment before as mentioned above, I'd like to see us continue to bring in players who do not necessarily have to be worth 20m plus but can grow into being classy footballers. Kante, Mahrez and Vardy are examples.
LCFC FOX Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 For me we need to offload from the first team squad: Hamer De Laet Moore Benalouane Inler Kramaric Ulloa No new contracts for: Schwarzer Dyer Konchesky Hammond I agree but I think Benny and Ulloa will stay for next season. Ulloa is an extra option while we're in Europe and Benalouane is actually good. Can see him staying
chicagofox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 I have a friend who is a former marketing director of one the so called big teams. He is still connected with football. Hope he's wrong but he says we have no chance of keeping Mahrez.. Well, if anyone would know it would be a former marketing director of another club.
chicagofox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 I agree but I think Benny and Ulloa will stay for next season. So you don't agree
NoFuchsGiven Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Would love us to go for Bolasie even if Mahrez stays (which I think he will) mind I wouldn't pay anymore than £20Million for him.
Blackpool Fox 69 Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 I think Rondon of WBA would be a perfect foil for Vards, gave Huth and Morgan a hard time vs us and just did the same vs Manure, he is mobile and as strong as an Ox outmuscled Huth a few times, Okazaki is a weak link for us.
ronnup Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 Mahrez will go for sure. Kante probably too. If that's the case we'll already be looking for replacements.
