Transfer strategy for the Summer

Recommended Posts

The season end is close and lets hope that the team doesn't suffer a Southampton where the 'elite' clubs simply stripped the team of its star players which effectively snuffed out Southampton's emerging challenge. This of course makes perfect sense for the 'elite' clubs to ensure no side can develop to challenge their 'elite' status, even if the players they buy in are never utilised their acquisition has served its purpose. Leicester, this year, have kind of snuck up on them unsignalled and unnoticed.

Lets hope the Leicester City transfer policy for any key players that wish to depart this summer is that they can go anywhere other than to a top 6 EPL team. It's crazy to give your direct competition your prized assets, like Southampton did. Leicester City recorded a record pre-tax profit last year so no amount of money should be enough to pass the key players onto the self serving 'elite'.

Its often a bad move for the players, of all the players that played in the good Southampton side of 4 years ago and left none commands an automatic place in an 'elite' team these days and none never really did when they moved. That fact alone should help a few players to make up their minds to stay as part of a winning team. OK, they probably got paid a lot more not to play but there are only so many £millions anyone really needs.

Lets hope the team gets built upon and not dismantled in the Summer. History is not on our side, lets hope the owners are.

slap a vardy shirt on dean hammond and sell him to china for £100 million

Hammond to China for 10M.

De Laet to China for 20M, he's fast and a proper fullback kind of.

Inler to China for 50M, he's an international captain!

Re-sign GTF and highlight his commitment, that's a good 1M right there.

That buys us a bazillion Mahrezes, Kantes, and Vardys!

With the amount of money available now to the clubs we do not need to sell our stars - but to keep them we need keep them happy - pay them the going rates and give them champion league football i think we can do both

But we need to be careful remember pe### tay#@$

I think we have to win it to keep Mahrez and Kante.

I think we will get to keep Kante for another season, no chance with Mahrez though..

We need 15 to 20 million pound players.

No we don't.

We just need the right players. Kante didn't cost in that range and surely you wouldn't turn down a player like him because of his lower price tag.

You never know. We win the league, we have Pot A in CL group stages, and that might be enough for us to resist overtures.

If it's Barca or Real or even Bayern, sure, he can/should go. But if it's Arsenal or some other tinpot club, f**k them, give him Vardy's bumper deal and he stays another year.

I am not sure Mahrez will leave especially if we win title and coupled with an auto group spot in the CL all we need to do is up his weekly wages.  He stated some time back he owes a great debt to the LCFC so heres hoping!

Even if we do win the league I get the feeling Mahrez will want to leave. Probably think that's the best season we'll ever have and better to leave on a high note.

Neer, guaranteed European football in a squad in which he's guaranteed a place would be great for his career. After that, fair enough. Besides, Gray, Dodoo and a massive pile of cash would be okay.

He would go to Barca, but would he get a game?

With us he is guarenteed a CL start. Stay next season with us. If it doesn't work out then move on with our best wishes.

I have a friend who is a former marketing director of one the so called big teams. He is still connected with football. Hope he's wrong but he says we have no chance of keeping Mahrez..
