Emperor Claudius - 10 (MOTM)

Centurion Drinky - 9 (ruled the midfield, great defending as well)

Triumvirate of Kante, Simpson & Schlupperman 8  (glad to have Kante back, he just wins balls others don't, Simpson almost perfect, and Schlupp, I would even go as far as to try and start him against Newcastle and see what he comes up with)

majority of other players 6-7 (Mahrez was wearing invisible cap first half (5) but I'm glad he took it off in the second (9) so in the end got 7 from me)

Shinji and Albrighton only 5 (both gave a lot of effort as they always do but played well below their capabilities. Perhaps they could use some rest. I'd bench them against Newcastle in favour of Schlupp and King or Leo)

Kasper was excellent. He didn't have many shots to save but his sweeping up and positioning for their through balls was brilliant. Showed great awareness to head that ball wide at the end of the first half and not back upfield potentially to a Watford player.

Drinkwater 10 out 10.

Kasper 7 Didn't have a lot to do but always looking to get the ball upfield early and his presence and attitude spot on again. He cares so much

Simpson 8 Has turned into a very good full back for us. Best of the back 4

Morgan 6 Thought it was his poorest game for a while and Ighalo gave him problems all day. Luckily for us Ighalo's finishing was poor

Huth 7 Pretty solid and always a goal threat

Fuchs 5 Given a torrid time by their wide man (Amrabat I think) and I was glad when said player was taken off

Albrighton 6 Did his job and lots effort as per

Kante 7 Not quite his usually buzzing self but still some class interceptions and got forward well too

Drinkwater 8 Another brilliant performance which had everything. Come on Roy you know what to do MOTM

Mahrez 7 Looked nervous first half but always wanted the ball. His composure for the goal was superb. Hope he's not injured- when a player pulls up like that you take them off immediately.

Okasaki 5 Found him frustrating, he's no goal threat at all and loses the ball too often

Vardy 7 Pace was always a good outlet for us and unlucky not to get a goal

King 7 Such a class pro- so unlucky not to start after Weds but as usual came on and did a great job for us

Schlupp 8 Think he's going to be really important for us in the run in and I wouldn't be surprised to see him nick Albrighton's place against Newcastle

Ranieri 10 His subs won the game (again). It seems everything he touches turns to gold.

three or four below par performances in a row from fuchs. need everyone firing for this run in.

I'm pretty sure Shinji picked up a knock early on today so it's understandable he wasn't as much of a nuisance as usual

Kasper - 7  Couple of decent saves but wasn't kept that busy.

Simpson - 7  Solid

Huth 7 - Kept things very simple but was very effective. Could have done better with his header in the second half.

Morgan - 7 Decent(ish) performance

Fuchs - 6 Wasn't at his best but some have been far too harsh on here.

Mahrez - 7.5 Good performance and well-taken goal in the second half. Was barely in the game during the first half though.

Kante - 7 Not his best performance but came good in the second.

Drinkwater - 8 My MOTM

Albrighton - 6 Was a bit wasteful I felt.

Vardy - 6 Not his best game really. Which is a shame because I thought he'd score yesterday.

Okazaki - 5 Very poor really. Just not strong or tall enough to cope in this league.

Schmeichel 7 (Didn't have a lot to do but I'm glad he did it - especially when coming our and heading the balll wide and safe).

Simpson 7 (Mr Consistency. He never elaborates, just does his job simply and efficiently. Did well to get a part block late in the game for all that it could have deflected badly for us. I'd sure sooner have the detrmination of our defenders than what I saw of Newcastle's and Aston Villa's this weekend).

Huth 7 (Perhaps should have scored or at least done a little better with his goal attempts from attacking corners but it was good to see him continuing to pose his recently increased threat. Defensively sound enough most of the time - Watford didn't have many clear cut chances and that reflects on both his and our organisation and focus).

Morgan 7 (Should have scored with his chance but he was there to have the chance so credit for that. Defensively, like Huth, dealt with theoretically threatening strikers soundly).

Fuchs 5.5 (Not for the first time recently he looked fairly ordinary, particularly as the game went on. Seemed to have a lot of trouble containing their winger who should be attracting the scouts of Arsenal and Spurs for his amateur dramatics. However, his strength and directness caused unease and if Watford were going to score I felt that he might be the source cos Fuchs rarely looked comfortable)

Mahrez 8 (Didn't have a brilliant 90 minutes by any means. But his rating does reflect a stunningly accurate match-winner of the kind that's become his trademark. He also had a couple of other efforts that might have eneded better and his run and cross to Vardy in the first half should surely have resulted in a goal for the striker. And that's the way Mahrez can be. Contained sometimes but always a potential match decider with the kind of talent you just can't teach and is so prized.

Drinkwater 7 (Like Kante, he and our midfield was considerably improved when King came on and the ball spent a bit more time on the floor and finding its way to team-mates. Played his part in some decent moves during the first 30 minutes of the second half when I thought we took control).

Kante 7 (Like most players a bit loose in the first half but improved later).

Albrighton 6 (Not his best game at all in terms of accuracy but he still worked hard and tried to effect things).

Okazaki 5.5 (Pretty awful really. Someone needs to buy him some proper studs because he seemed very unsure o fhis footing and really didn't make much impression at all, except in terms of effort.

Vardy 7 (Made a couple of chances out of next to nothing but should have scored from the Mahrez pass on the near post for all that he moved so quickly to get the chance. A patchy game though but it's almost sure to be harder for him and Mahrez to find space now they're such marked men and we don't have enough supporting goals threat anywhere else.)

Subs:

King 8 (Ranieri's decision to introduce King and Schlupp was tactically inspired with both playing a part in the multi-pass move which led to our winning goal via a bit of careless Watford defending. We so needed someone to play ball accurately on the floor and King not only did that but provided the outlet for others to do it. He was good defensively too and had a willing helper in Schlupp who threatened the Watford defence constantly and might even have had a goal.

Schlupp 7 (See reference above).

MOM? Ranieri with a 10. He did exactly what was wanted at exactly the right time.

Harsh marks for Shinji. He is what City are all about. Work, work, work. 8.5

Mahrez- why are people rating him so low? 10+. Best player in the PL.

Ranieri -9- Excellent subs and at the right time. Everything else spot on.

Kasper -7- Two or three shots were easy catches for him. Good, solid performance and usual passion and spirit.

Simpson -8- Very impressed with Simpson again. Most improved player this season. Solid and unspectacular, just what he should be. Put body on the line more than once.
Huth -8- Usual excellent performance from Huth. Shame he didn't score from another excellent chance.
Morgan -8- Like Huth, should have scored, as he should have done against WBA. Defensively he was excellent again.
Fuchs -6.5- Gone slightly off the boil, but will get back to form soon because he is a class act. Lovely shot and a lovely cross which lead to Mahrez goal.

Mahrez -7.5- Marked by three men and out of the game for long spells. It says a lot for him that he still put defenders on their arses and scored another superb goal.
Drinkwater -9- MOTM Commanding and controlled performance.
Kante -8- Thrilled to see him back and another typical Kante performance.
Albrighton -7- Worked hard as usual.

Okazaki -6- Chased around, fell over and tried hard. I know why Ranieri plays him, but I wish he would step up and reward us with a few more goals from his many chances.
Vardy -7.5- Usual passion, determination and spirit from him. Shame he didn't score from that great Mahrez chance.

Subs:
King -7- Great to see him get another chance and again he didn't let the team down, in fact he improved it.. Well done Ranieri for bringing him on at half time.
Schlupp -7- Defenders hate him as he confuses them as much as he confuses us, and himself. Always enjoy him coming on because he excites, but still works hard.
Amartey -5- Not on long enough for a proper rating.

Officials -6- I thought they did OK with no major cock ups.

Watford -6- Didn't really look like scoring, just a few snap shots. Played OK and contributed to a decent match. Great to win there again after our play off heartbreak.

So, on we go. Newcastle next and they will most probably have a new manager by the time we play them and I expect a really tough match. Hope I'm wrong, but whatever, we must not underestimate them because they have some dangerous players and after the thrashing Bournemouth handed them I expect them to play much better whoever their manager.

Just watched the  match again . Thought Fuchs had a good game, battled well against a very physical opponent, v. good distribution and won some decent headers.

also watched Okazaki ,surprising how much his tenacity gave  Watford problems, not always winning the ball directly but causing them to lose possession by putting them under pressure.

All in all a clinical performance by the whole team.

I believe your analysis is correct. Watford was a tough opponent. Sinji did his job in making it difficult for Watford. Fuchs was great, other than a few times, he handled the game very well.
