harpendenfox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 I was in Tesco in Hemel earlier, which is near where I live. Three blokes, just standing in one of the aisles, talking about us. They knew all the games to come, all about us. Clearly wanting us to win it. I just smiled and bought some more pineapple
Hack Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 There was a point made on 5live last night saying "when next season comes, and stuff all goes back to normal, I worry we all haven't enjoyed this season enough" And I do tend to agree, I am loving this season there's been no feeling like it, but I keep thinking now, have I enjoyed this season enough because there might not be another one like it! I some how feel that the old status quo of the big 4 or is coming to an end. The Pl is becoming far more even as the WBA Man U result shows. With the huge increase in TV next year for all teams and with Spurs ans Us in the Champions League taking that money as well all teams will compete for the top 8 and from there i am guessing there will be at least one or two unfancied teams like us getting into Europe. I also think we continue to be Europe contender next year and hopefully for years to come as do I think that for Spurs. Liverpool will be back in the running again once Klopp gets his version of them on the pitch. So the days of Utd Chelsea and Man City only winning is over. Long may it last.
Hack Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 How can you not enjoy it. It's a pleasure to have witnessed this season and fighting for the title is a whole lot less stressful than trying to stay in the division. Whatever happens just finishing in the top 3 would still be an amazing achievement. To win it would be immense. You have to enjoy it. I felt yesterday was one of the best away atmospheres for a while. I think people are starting to enjoy the ride. By the way with Utd losing to Brom means it is a title race in 3. Arsenal would need to win all games and us to lose 3 for them to win. So I really do think as long as we keep the playing the way we have we will win it all. Spurs to me are the only real danger and they have a much harder run in and Europa league to play. I have faith in Ranieri and the team to do it. points clear is huge with 9 games to go. I have LOVED all of this season. To me it is not just a title we are playing for but for LCFC to be a top echelon team for years to come and put an end to the yo yo of relegation and promotion. I also it is the end of the fans who always expect bad news and results. Get used to the new future of our club and stop leaving in the past. We have some of the best owners in football, a magnificent manager and the fittest and hardest working team in the PL. How could you not love this team and season
HighPeakFox Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 As for next season, it isn't as though there's going to be major upheaval to the squad or the team ethic, so why not do it all again next time out?
Hack Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 As for next season, it isn't as though there's going to be major upheaval to the squad or the team ethic, so why not do it all again next time out? If anything we will strengthen in every position we need with Champions league quality. The owners will give what ever money is wanted and needed by CR and Walshy to buy who ever they want and can get. We will be a very desirable team to play for. So the idea that we will be a relegation type team again is frankly a joke. Please those who live in fear of the past just get over it and join the rest of the optimists in our bright future.
crazylegs1984 Posted 6 March 2016 Posted 6 March 2016 i have grabbed every second of this season and lovingly caressed it like a woman i adore but gave it that little bit of extra passion in case i never see it again , every game i walk out the stadium thinking what a beautiful game and cant wait for the next i have replayed that Vardy goal against Liverpool more times then i like to admit. The end of the season disc better be a blu-ray multi-disc edition with all the games back to back other wise it wont fit all the highlights in !! This season has been near on perfection and im just waiting for that cherry on the top , oh what a great time to be fox !!!
MrSpaM Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I don't agree with all this "back to normal next season" guff. Yes some of the top teams haven't been consistent this season but we have played incredibly well. Our desire and conviction is like no other and our game is incredibly hard to play against. Other teams may improve next season but there is no reason for us to become shit if we hold on to our players. We can still be right up there. As long as half of our squad doesn't go to spain, this is the danger unfortunately The prospect of playing for Barcelona or Madrid still completely outshines living in Leicester I can't see anybody wanting to join another BPL team if we actually do manage to win the league, but there is still a very real danger of some top European clubs trying to snatch our better players at the end of the season.
Tim'llFixIt Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I'm a mixture of Restless Obsessed Erratic Hysterical If carlsberg did mental breakdowns this would be it though commmmonnnnnnnnn city
Footballwipe Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Someone asked me yesterday whether I was enjoying it. I said it's fantastic but inside I still have no idea what to feel. The key for me is expectation; if someone asked me how I'd feel if we won the League or FA Cup at Wembley I'd say fantastic, amazing. Such a pleasure to be there and remember those cup runs. I can say that because I've thought about it, dreamt it. I can honestly say that (until this season) I'd never even thought about us being in the Champions League, let alone winning the title. Because I've never thought about it I don't know how to react. We won on Saturday to go five points clear but I'm not sure my brain is processing the gravity of what we might do, it doesn't feel real. I mean it is incredible; the media adulation/doubt, the footballing universe seemingly talking about us one way or another, everyone wanting a piece of us. Going into matches and playing good football, winning. It is a stunning season and when I'm not stressing over the permutations I am looking back through this season's footage and enjoying it all, but winning the league? I still can't get that in my head. Not just that but the offshoots of success; Community Shield at Wembley in August, a UCL campaign, the trophy, the title of champions for a whole year. Really? Us? Leicester!? There will not be another season like this. I think we're all realistic to realise that we might (key word, might) slide back down. For me, whether it's to 5th or 15th I wouldn't be too bothered. Even if we don't win the title an adventure into the highest echelon of European club football will be an amazing thing for this club. The day we are mathematically in the group stages of the UCL I will celebrate wildly (sorry if that sounds small time) if there's a day a few weeks after that to celebrate a trophy, then I'll be in heaven. Whether we do or we don't the shift in the media's view will have changed, scrutiny will be harsher and more microscopic than ever. It wasn't really until we beat Man City that the media coverage became stratospheric. However we perform next season it's going to be like this.
4fuxsake Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 for me, my family is starting to be concerned of my possible mental health issue. When I start to dance to the tune of MOTD music, or scream down the neighborhood at 3am, when vardy, mahrez etc score or miss. The misses is threatening to get me committed if I dont quiten down. So to answer the question, enjoyment is a massive yes. But im looking forward to next year when we play barca and losing 2-0 at halftime. The DON makes some adjustments and bang we win 5-3. now that day I'll gladly walk to the loony ward and ask for a rubber room.
Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I don't know about you lot but I'm finding it increasingly frucking difficult to concentrate on work
Sionnach gorm Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Spend way too much time looking at stats and on the web reading articles. It's a disaster. Wife angry at me. Work not getting done. I'll probably get sacked shortly from my job and be living under a bridge, alone. Other than that coping well and enjoying it.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I don't think I am, mainly because I can't believe what's happening. I am enjoying it, don't get me wrong, but probably less so than our Championship winning season for example. If we win it I'll probably just spontaneously burst into tears, or die, or something. You've got to work under the assumption that this won't be the norm and I wonder if there's a chance that, if we win the league, I'll never care as much again. I'll have seen an achievement which will surpass anything I could ever have reasonably expected of the club. This sums it up for me. I enjoyed the Championship season more because I wasn't used to winning and as there wasn't so much media coverage etc it all felt more personal. It almost feels like we haven't had enough time to take in our rise from being happy to be in the PL to being happy to stay in the PL for another year to now contending for the title! Doesn't feel real somehow especially as so many people with no affiliation to LCFC are on the bandwagon
WesMorganGod Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 Yup it has been a awesome season, so exciting and fantastic to watch
MonmoreStef Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 The whole thing is taking over me. Woke up last night and couldn't get sleep as I pondered whether Jeff Schlup would be a better option than the Japanese lad in order to get all our most dangerous players on the pitch at the same time. . In the supermarket earlier and I wasted half hour reading the Leicester pieces in each newspaper. Driving down the M1 last week I somehow covered 5 junctions without realising as I was to busy imagining Wes lifting the trophy.

Wortho Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I am trying not to look any further than the next game. During the games my nerves are absolutely shredded, but afterwards it is brilliant.
Swarles Barkley Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 in my final year at uni and all I can think about is football. I have essays, presentations and exams coming up yet I am glued to this forum
Bluetintedspecs Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 According to the results of an ECG I had last week I've been enjoying it far too much, oooooops. Chaaaaaaaaaaarge

Bluetintedspecs Posted 7 March 2016 Posted 7 March 2016 I mean.... It's Paul Mersons account, does that explain things?
