stripeyfox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Nice touch boys. A group of Southampton fans lines up almost like a guard of honour clapping us as we walked past, shaking hands and wishing us well. Never seen that before at any match. Felt a genuine warm feeling (and I hadn't pissed myself). Happy evening everyone. Kids in bed, take away ordered, beer in hand waiting for MOTD!
stretch1965 Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Yeah to see other fans sing "your'e gonna win the league" was amazing. fantastic gesture
Matt Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 I had one old boy tap me on the shoulder put his hand out to shake and he just said "Fair play mate, well done".
The Year Of The Fox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Yeh and inside the ground at FT they were all clapping and giving us the thumbs up. Fair play to them.
AYLESBURY FOX 1961 Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 I feel very uncomfortable with all this goodwill from other clubs - get the **** off OUR BANDWAGON!
ScouseFox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 so wrong what has happened to football fans in this country. can't wait til fenerbache away when they all try to set us on fire like the old days.
Clever Fox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 It's great to see, proper sportsmanship. We all want our own teams to win everything but it's just as important as a sportsman to give credit where it;s due. Credit to true Football Fans.
promised land Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 I feel very uncomfortable with all this goodwill from other clubs - get the **** off OUR BANDWAGON! Do I need a whoosh parrot or are you serious? These are football fans of clubs like ours, what's happening is something that they can relate to in the fact that anyone outside the big 4,5,6 (however many they call now) can give the big boys a run for the title. They appreciate a smaller club is at the top and now 7 points clear, I'm proud to be a leicester city fan and will shake any supporters hand who walks up to me from another club. It's not a cup run, this is a long marathon of a season, 32 games in, just smile, say thanks and carry on. But like I say did I need a whoosh parrot?
stripeyfox Posted 3 April 2016 Author Posted 3 April 2016 How silly and very bum suckish ....is one way of looking at it the other way is that basically the whole country, if not world is totally enthralled by our title challenge which has torn up the "closed shop" mentality of the league, media etc and these few Saints fans form a microcosm of this and they wanted to display that directly to us.
johnny the fox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 I don't mind sharing a success with other long suffering fans...we give hope to all....
Fox_in_a_Box Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 so wrong what has happened to football fans in this country. can't wait til fenerbache away when they all try to set us on fire like the old days. Actually just spat tea all over my laptop you bastard

VLC86 Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 so wrong what has happened to football fans in this country. can't wait til fenerbache away when they all try to set us on fire like the old days. Haha yeah can't wait pal. At the Man City game I had people shacking my hand, was made all the more pleasant when someone shouted out of the car window that they hoped I died in a car crash on the way home.
Countryfox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Had a chat with a Saints fan on way home and he said best atmosphere he'd experienced this season.
Larry_LCFC Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Clapping our chant inside the ground was a nice touch - fair play. But lining up outside and chanting for us... really? Too far.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Got a mate who's a Saints fan who was there today and he said it felt like he was witnessing something special...
