Match Ratings : Leicester City 1-0 Southampton - Results & Man of the Match

No. He was obviously recovering from travel. He played defense more than he should. He was at the origin of at least two dangerous plays.

He is the EPL player of the season and constantly low-rated on FoxTalk. It shows that these FoxTalk ratings are heavily biased by fanboys and haters.

Your post loses all credibility when it includes the words 'fanboy and haters'.

You seem to be taking pleasure in the fact that he got low ratings. Enjoy it while you can because the world is soon gonna highlight his name ..

Blimey don't take it so personally that he had a crap game.

lol mahrez below dyer, I've seen it all now, dyer on a couple of minutes, and did f all, mahrez has a quiet, jet lagged looking game, and he worst than a player on for 2 minutes lol

Harsh  on Mahrez, tried hard and there were some nice touches, he wasn't the worst on the pitch, (sorry Shinji) and he should be higher than the subs, who played their part but didn't do anything of note.

Disagree it was harsh. He was very poor. Did very little and I thought his decision making/work rate was very poor at times. Still, he can have that performance as he's still winning us games.

Personally surprised that Vardy didn't score higher. I thought he was excellent.

In a match with free beer and doughnuts how could Simpson NOT me man of the match :-) he was for me my a mile, was superb !

Southampton were 3rd best opposition? I know Arsenal were probably the best but who were the second best?

Arsenal home were best, Spurs away second, Southampton home third, Arsenal away fourth, Watford home rounding off the top five

Mahrez worst rated player .... harsh yes.

ask yourself, if you rate him that bad then you should agree to not play him next game .

I see what you are trying to say but most of us just accept that it didnt work out for him against Southampton. It happens, everyone has had at least one game like that this season.

Of course we arent going to drop him against Sunderland as we've no doubt he'll be back to his prolific best before we know it.

We actually can't drop Mahrez for Sunderland with his away record. After a weeks rest and training, he'll be back to his best on Sunday.

No one is saying that. It was the rating for one game not the whole season. Mahrez was poor, everyone has poor games now and again, no one thinks it's a big deal or it's a sudden downturn or we should drop him or we don't still think he's an amazing player who is very important to us. It was just a one-off poor performance that's all.

The people that cannot see but sunrays shine out of Mahrez' arse do annoy me sometimes.

Even Messi has below par games, yet Mahrez is not allowed any?

Besides, it's not like he was bad, his teammates were just arguably better or more influential.

This doesn't mean he should be dropped from the starting lineup, he's as nailed on a starter as Vardy, Morgan, Schmeichel and co. We are very lucky to have him, but he's not infallible.

He wasn't the best player in the country on Sunday, whichever way you look at it.

Is he the best player in the country this season overall? Arguably yes, and I think you will find people on here championing him at every available opportunity. Sunday wasn't one of those opportunities.

Agreed - I find it quite funny on the LCFC Facebook page when the Mahrez fanclub come out with all the comments like "Mehrez best EPL player ever" even when it's a photo of Drinky training or something, but to get to a point where him being rated lowly in a game he didn't play well in gets a minor backlash... mental.

FoxesTalk is a place for Leicester City fans. If you idolise one player who happens to play for Leicester City but don't actually support the team I'd suggest you don't bother visiting. No one here dislikes Mahrez, he has been great for us and contributes an awful lot for us but he isn't bigger than the team

lol at the Algerians getting angry at Mahrez's score.

He had a quiet game, much to do with the fact that Southampton had most of the ball and our defenders stole the show, as well as having traveled.

I have full confidence he'll rip Van Aanholt apart on Sunday, though.

Bournemouth never looked like beating 10 men

Bournemouth never looked like beating 10 men

And we never looked like beating their 10 men which is obviously a better achievement. It's not the other team's job to expose themselves and go for it down a man when they don't have to. That was a big point for them and two dropped for us.

All am saying, he doesn't deserve that bad rating. The thing about Mahrez is he sets the standards too high so when he does'nt score or have an assist you consider his game was bad. His game was farrrrr from bad, he did play average no more no less. And plz leave Algerians and Facebook out of it don't take it too personal. Argue the point.

I think the reason Mahrez often gets low ratings is because we all know what he is capable of, It's actually somewhat of a compliment to say 'we know he can do alot better than that in a 10/10 personal rating'

In a couple of matches earlier in the season where he actually did very little in most passages of play but bagged or assisted with his class he'd get a MotM rating all around, its just the way us fans see things in a median.

I find this post rather condescending. Do you feel a sense of superiority toward the Algerian fans who (I find) are very knowledgeable and passionate about football. If you are a private owner of this forum, then lock it. Otherwise, you got no business telling a group of fans to go away. They got as much rights as you got. Amicably.

Keep your suggestion to yourself. I don't give a damn what you think. I know one thing, I support who I want and I say what I want, if I don't like it I don't give a sh*t... As long as I am not abusing the rules of this forum... As a matter of fact I accept any action the Mods see proper but from you??? You got no business. By the way yes I do support Liecester because of Mahrez. U think if it wasn't for one of our players you think I would support your team? Based on what? With all due respect to the team and to the fans. Yes I am a temporary Leicester fan and am out of here the min no one of our players r playing with you . You somehow remind me of Spurs fans on the fighting cock forum. Respect to all respectable Leicester fans.
