dorsetboy Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 what with the tv money , increased exposure , player values totally rising ( 50m for vardy, mahrez, kante) looking like champions league money and a possible prem trophy . do you think the owners may now be looking at profit from their investment ? 39m for the club and 100 million debt paid for and the ground purchased and then player brought and wages possible income 100m from prem league 80 odd million team value possible 15 m from europe adventures increased exposure ? extra sales and revenues
Dodgy Bob Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 No doubt about it when you also consider the value of the club should we qualify for the champions league against what they paid for it. That alone probably covers their whole expenditure.
ARM1968 Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 £80 million for the squad? I'd be asking that for Kante or Mahrez.
Jace Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 Yeah the value of the club now with the ownership of the ground, squad value, champions league football, 1st place revenue (potentially) I reckon would now be up around the £200 million mark
Leeds Fox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 Surely squad value only counts as 'profitable' if you sell the players or sell the club. I suppose you could add on that King Power has had more exposure and may have made more money, as an indirect profit.
Fox92 Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 No doubts they've seen a King Power profit now. They've got King Power on the shirts, around the ground and on the ground name itself. Commercially I imagine they have seen such a rise.
Bevilacqua Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 You're forgetting 50 million TV rights for UCL access. You guys are going to earn a ridiculous amount of money. Potentially you could stengthen your team with great signings and keep all the best players.
Leeds Fox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 You're forgetting 50 million TV rights for UCL access. You guys are going to earn a ridiculous amount of money. Potentially you could stengthen your team with great signings and keep all the best players. So as well as the £15m CL money, you get £50m TV money on top? Wow
Jace Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 Considering we made a £25 million profit last season imagine what it could potentially be after this season and next. I can't see them spending silly money on players when our scouting network have done such a great job
Captain... Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 So as well as the £15m CL money, you get £50m TV money on top? Wow Champions league money is funny, you get a greater share depending on where you finish in your league, so this season Chelsea will get more money than Man City if Man City get knocked out by PSG, even though Man City went a round further: below is the money for last season's ECL The 12m euros is just the guaranteed prize money for participating. The market share is where the real money comes in. http://www.totalsportek.com/money/uefa-champions-league-prize-money/ This explains it but it is quite complicated, each league gets a market pool, that is then distributed to the teams from that league based on where they finished, so when Man City won it they got 32% of the market money, whereas Arsenal got about 18% and if the 4th placed team loses in the qualifier the 3 English teams in the group stage will get even more money. It will be around 50m euros guaranteed + any performance bonuses add another 10m if the 4th placed team doesn't qualify.
Great Boos Up Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 Plus that two quid I dropped in SK4 when Vardy scored against Liverpool.
Countryfox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 We don't know what they had to pay those Buddhist monks .... Judging by the results about £10m each.
rmahrez Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 How come Serie A clubs (Juve and Roma) get so much from that market value thing?
Captain... Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 How come Serie A clubs (Juve and Roma) get so much from that market value thing? Because the market pool is for the clubs qualifying from that league, in Italy it is 2 into the group stage Roma and Juve 1 to has to qualify, this time it was Napoli who got knocked out in qualifying, the pool of money doesn't change it is the same amount for the Serie A clubs but with Napoli out it just gets split between two clubs rather than 3. The serie A clubs Market pool was around 93m to split between 3 and Premier League was around 93 to split between 4, so even if Napoli had qualified Juve would have got more than any English club. Bizarrely La Liga only got 83m, the market pool seems to be based on you TV rights deal for that country: UEFA has announced €482.9 million in market pool money for each of the next three champions league seasons. Which will be distributed according proportional value of each TV market (Country/League). So the market pool awarded to each country’s league will be distributed among the teams from that league according to their performance in previous league season and how many matches they will play in the given champions league season. English clubs will benefit the most with the new Market Pool distribution system and If an english club were to win the champions league in 2015-16 season they will earn around €100 million (around €50m from performance based + around €50m with market pool).
Bevilacqua Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 Last year AS Roma finished 2nd in Serie A. This year we made 77 million euros only with UCL money (TV rights, matchday, partecipation and performance bonuses). http://www.laroma24.it/rubriche/la-penna-degli-altri/2016/04/la-roma-lancia-lo-sprint It's written in Italian but I'll translate the UCL money section of the article. We got: 12 million for direct access to UCL group stage, 5,5 for taking part to the round of 16, 47,5 TV rights (the most consistent source of income, every country has its market pool so you have to check how large is the English MP, I believe it's even bigger than ours), 3 million performance bonuses, 9 million matchday income. You have also to realise that our matchday income was lower this year due to fan protests and ultras boycotting the stadium. I think your MD income will be even bigger (higher prices and sold-outs). You can't imagine how much money you're going to make. Then you have BPL TV rights! I read somewhere you'll get 110 million euros if you win the league! We're talking about almost 200 million euros guaranteed for next season. I think you can be happy.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 The profit the club/owners are making, must be super high now. Given the success we're having being top of the Premier League and, Leicester City becoming a more well known name around the world, the profit and profile of Leicester/King Power must be absolutely excellent from a club's point of view. The owners own the club, the stadium and the stadium's naming rights, and due to the exposure of us now, millions of people every game we play, are viewing King Power advertisements and getting to understand who Leicester are. For the actually company King Power, and LCFC, the profit's are going to be very useful for us in the short and long term. Hopefully this season can be the grounding for a wonderful historical era for Leicester, not intending to get ahead of myself but I am genuinely excited by our future prospects as a football club. The money we are receiving now will allow us to start looking at buying high quality players from around Europe, as well as look at improving our stadium/facilities (e.g stadium expansion) and probable increases in wages for staff/players. That's only to name a few benefits but for the whole club in general it's excellent.
Sionnach gorm Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 All the profits will be lost to pay CR his bonuses for keeping Leicester up
ealingfox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 If we quoted a club £80m for our whole team today I'd be heading round the KP with a can of petrol and some matches tomorrow.
mozartfox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 If they are getting their money back in near future, then all I can say it, great news. They have done wonders for this Club and their business brains have put us on the brink of a miracle. I also think they are fans first and foremost, stakeholders second. Just take a look at Cardiff, QPR, Villa, Hearts (to name a few), to see what can happen when a Foreign Ownership takes over who are clueless or just in it for the money.
ThaiFox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 £80 million for the squad? I'd be asking that for Kante or Mahrez. I'd be asking that for Simpson!
sylofox Posted 7 April 2016 Posted 7 April 2016 I hope the debt is payed off and they make millions from us. They can't make it unless we are successful and they don't see the type to milk us dry.
