Bearing in mind I'm a sh!t artist and have no design graphics background, I did a two minute sketch whilst I had a free minute. Feel free to sneer/criticise it but it's the best I could do in my extremely limited ability Shouldn't have rushed it, took a full two minutes and it might have turned out better.

For the record I can't think of anything I'd want changing about it, love the current badge and it represents the journey I've been on with this football club since I was a kid.

I'm glad there's a few on here who share my feelings on the badge, just seems a perfect fit and it's so recognisable as well. Bias aside it would still easily be one of my favourites, clean and the colour contrast work perfectly. One thing I've always wanted to see is a name change to King Power Foxes back to Leicester Fosse, just seems a lot more original and obviously has the heritage angle to back it up.

For the sake of your project, if we had to change it I'd like something with maybe the old running fox or fox and crop. I do like the circular shape though.

ajthefox Posted 11 April 2016 Posted 11 April 2016 Personally wouldn't change it, but for the sake of your art project here is my hypothetical advice, because it's no use all of us saying we love the badge. I would suggest you do something completely different, e.g. different shape, different words, a different image and a different balance of colour. Incorporate something historic like an acknowledgement of us previously being Fosse or by using something from an old badge which maintains who we are in someway. I'm interested to see what you come up with mate.

Hi Finnaldo, I accept this is an old-fashioned and unpopular view on here but the old fox and crop badge was the best. The circle style badge we have at the moment is nowhere near as good. I agree wholeheartedly on name change though. Leicester Fosse is the original name of the club and so would be very natural to take it back. 'Citeh' is fine and okay but I don't understand quite what people like about it so much. It's just so un-original, every other team has United or City in it's name...

Aleksz Posted 11 April 2016 Author Posted 11 April 2016 As a hypothetical scenario, maybe as a one off season with a commemorative badge to celebrate an anniversary or a success I would like to see a return of the fox and crop, or a reworking of that badge (for an anniversary badge with a retro kit) or a tweaking of the current badge to incorporate a star to represent a league win or something (as if that would ever happen) but in a hypothetical scenario, maybe replacing the cinquefoil with a star could be okay. To completely rework the badge it would have to look awesome and carry some meaning and not be a shameless branding exercise, so no #fearless or any other bullshit. You could even incorporate the 2 badges, so the fox and crop shield with the fox head from the current badge. I don't know how people would feel if they tried to incorporate Buddhist designs and symbols into the badge and branding, as a hypothetical branding exercise it could be an interesting project, but in reality it would be greeted with a lot resistance. I like the idea of a commemorative badge, but i don't think i would do that here. I like the idea behind the fox and crop, will experiment with that. I agree there would be a lot of resistance, i expected that on this hypothetical project let alone in real life. Thanks mate. 'Foxes Never Quit' in one of those banner scroll type things across the bottom, an old school football (similar to the one on Birmingham's badge) above it, with a fox sitting upright looking forwards, probably a fairly basic design lie the Owl on Wednesday's badge. With 'Leicester City FC' above that, maybe 1884 written under the scroll. The shape wouldn't be too different to the Cambridge United one, probably with the scroll more proportionate to the ball. Leave it leave it leave it ! Its the best club badge out there by a country mile ..... If you want to do some designing perhaps an LCFC themed pair of pants or knickers .... that should keep you busy. Useful. Cheers.

I do still love that design but wouldn't necessarily want it changed.

I quite like it as a suffix, there's something warm about it. We should be proud that we're a City and not a Town also.

Len Finsbury Posted 11 April 2016 Posted 11 April 2016 I'm laughing at some of the responses on here. You know he hasn't actually been commissioned to redesign the badge right? This is only a project. Personally, as I've got older, I've become a lover of more traditional things so if we had to redesign the badge, I'd go for an older design and just freshen it up. The old shield badge like this would be a great start but I'd incorporate 1884 instead of the LCFC across the top. Edit: I'm ****ed if I know how to make it smaller!
