Robin JD Popley Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Another thing I forgot to mention last night... IF he stays with them. Cheeky group stage tie against Olympiacos feat. Esteban Cambiasso? (Edit: Note they may still have to qualify through play off route).
weller54 Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 The season would be soured for me by seeing Spurs parade the PL trophy around White flag lane and all their mongol fans singing.. Are you watching Leicester City! ...just an unbearable image.

billyfox1 Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 For anyone who is still worried or not got their heads round the whole Liverpool/Man City thing. Here is offical confirmation from UEFA http://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/news/newsid=2353901.html?#201617+champions+league+group+stage+stands

Buce Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Obviously finishing top 3 and playing in the Champions League next season is a great achievement for us and was far beyond our expectations before the season started. But am I the only one who is now feeling that if we don't win the League it will be a bit of an anticlimax? Because we have got this far, if we don't now get over the line and lift the Premier League trophy I will be absolutely devastated, as this chance may never come round again. BTW I still belive we will win it. I think two wins (79 points) will do it. This. Anything but first now will feel like failure.
Gerard Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 We haven't qualified for the group stages just yet. Man City finishing 4th and winning the CL means 3rd place goes to the final qualifying round.
Gerard Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 A thread like this should make us realise how daft it is to be banging on about 'not winning the league'. For fooks sake, we can't finish less than third already! Yes, it would be nice now to finish this thing and win it, but if we don't it would have still been a truly incredible campaign. Ironically though if we finish second this will be the most depressed I've been about the end of a Leicester City season, even more than when we got relegated to League 1.

Gerard Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 I'm just sitting here remembering how on 20th December 2008 I thought beating Peterborough at home 4-0 was a great day and that my club was on its way back from League 1 Now we're in next season's Champion's league. Please don't wake me up yet! I hope you keep dreaming for another few weeks and don't wake up from a nightmare in a cold sweat.

I'm almost certain that one of our sides has to play a play off match and all four (or five if Liverpool win the EL) can't go straight into the group stages. So if Man City won the CL and the table finished like this: Tottenham Arsenal Leicester Man City Then it would be us in the CL play off.

UEFA Champions League/UEFA Europa League holders The 2015/16 UEFA Champions League winners are also assured of a place in next season's group stage. The 2015/16 UEFA Europa League winners will enter the UEFA Champions League play-offs unless the UEFA Champions League winners are already qualified for the 2016/17 group stage thanks to their domestic-league finishing position. If that happens, a group stage vacancy is created for the UEFA Europa League winners.

No. Champions League winner is independent, it has its own spot in pot 1. The Europa winner goes into the qualifying round. If Man City and Liverpool both win their competitions and finish outside of the to 4, the fourth placed team enters the EL.Edit: appears I was a bit late

I'm going to celebrate our CL group stage confirmation with a cup of coffee and a croissant that my Mum has just came round with.

Now lets go and win this fucking title.
