Cropwellfox Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 I thought it was (sure I saw Mike McCarthy tweeting about it the other day) but I was wrong sorry. UEFA clarify all scenarios here: http://www.uefa.com/uefaeuropaleague/news/newsid=2215121.html (Scroll to the bottom) Sorry to get your arse twitching pal! Good man for clarifying your own clarification. No way we aren't in group stages so can now cheer Man City and Liverpool to help raise England's coefficient so we don't lose the 4th place. Tidy.
1972 Fox Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 Obviously finishing top 3 and playing in the Champions League next season is a great achievement for us and was far beyond our expectations before the season started. But am I the only one who is now feeling that if we don't win the League it will be a bit of an anticlimax? Because we have got this far, if we don't now get over the line and lift the Premier League trophy I will be absolutely devastated, as this chance may never come round again. BTW I still belive we will win it. I think two wins (79 points) will do it.

I will feel the same, this is possibly the biggest opportunity ever but at the same time what we have achieved is way beyond anyone's wildest dreams already... so in a sense I shouldn't allow myself to get too down hopefully and just celebrate the most incredible season we have ever had. I think that is how the players should feel let's get rid of this nervous feel and bloody go for it. That is what happened at the end of last season...
Robin JD Popley Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 YESSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! Only one prize left to get... Foxes Never Quit!

And we'll be remembered as the team that threw away a 7 point lead with only 5 games left - regardless of our achievements. Not winning the league would be a huge disappointment.
ceredigion Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 I think I'd rather we won the league and then went out of the CL in the group stages next season, than finish 2nd or 3rd and get to the CL final next season and lose it. What do others think?

What do others think? I would rather win the league now and then win the CL next season, I'm not greedy or anything I promise ...
GaelicFox Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 About to find out what it's like to be a member of the SS !! A proper European Tour Time to dry clean the Hugo Boss Suit

ceredigion Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 One paradox of tonight's outcome is that if we'd been hanging around the top 4/5 all season and got a result on the last day which meant we finished 3rd, that in itself would have been one of the club's greatest achievements, up there with the League Cup wins and promotion seasons, and would have sparked scenes of wild celebration. But now we just take it in our stride and finish our cups of Horlicks before turning in for the night.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 Even better news is that Newcastle are still fighting and capable of taking points off top clubs. Let's hope that they still have something to play for come the last game... or that we don't need it.This
Kendal Fox Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 That's at least a positive to take after the dark cloud of the last few days. Well done Claudio and the lads! Now win that title!
Kendal Fox Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 Win on Sunday guarantees top 2 finish ^ This...This..... Please This...!!!! Then we can put it behind us and look to the last 3, feeling confident of securing the title..
fuchsntf Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 We're all going on a European tour... Speak for yourself, I am already here. Plus with my contacts, if you all vote Brexit, I'll see you wont get the Visas on time....
blueharmie Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 I think poeple are forgetting who we are. Leicester in the champions league group stages? ****ing mental that is. Never thought I would see it. So hapoy
TeamRocket Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 this and shut the w@nkers up on social media/radio/tv etc. After Sunday night and yesterday & today I am not going to listen/watch any media apart from watching/listening to the live games for the rest of the season no matter what happens I just cant stand to listen to it anymore, makes by blood boil Totally agree with this
HighPeakFox Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 I highly recommend just avoiding all tabloids, social media, and not coming here too much until next weekend
Guest Col city fan Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 A thread like this should make us realise how daft it is to be banging on about 'not winning the league'. For fooks sake, we can't finish less than third already! Yes, it would be nice now to finish this thing and win it, but if we don't it would have still been a truly incredible campaign.

Won't be watching anything other than live games (and recordings of our games).
NewEnglandFox Posted 19 April 2016 Posted 19 April 2016 So beautiful. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2016%E2%80%9317_UEFA_Champions_League#Teams

BTW I still belive we will win it. I think two wins (79 points) will do it. No, I feel the same way as you mate. I'm absolutely delighted with what Claudio and the lads have achieved thus far, but at the same time, you've got to look at the reality and context of the current situation and the reality is that we are within touching distance of winning the premier league title, making history (for club and top-flight football in general) and that, as you say may and probably will never come again. I have been seriously emotionally invested since November to be frank - something I promised myself I would never do again after the utter misery of the Peter Taylor era - and I'm just trying to avoid even contemplating coming anything less than 1st now. Also, I'm surprised there hasn't been much criticism of the FA's actions against us, because, regardless of Vardy's behaviour - whether he was totally in the wrong or not - For the powers that be to potentially manipulate the outcome of this title race is sickening. If that happens and Spurs win, nobody - neutral or not - will ever be able to say for certain who would have really won the title. And surely that can't be right?!! Just surprised that not more has been made of that by influential voices such as Lineker, Shearer, etc.. The FA have to know it will make them look nothing short of corrupt... But, there I go again!! I'm still hoping and feeling we will beat Swansea... But it's the principle that really irks me, in the meantime.
AyewJoking Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 most would have you believe leicester winning the league would be the greatest sporting achievement of all time but if we somehow dont win it surely qualifying for the champions league will still be the greatest achievement considering who we are and where we were last season?
SydneyBlue Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 Pressure off lads, this is very special and not winning title shouldn't undermine what an incredible achievement this is. We should play with freedom like we did earlier in the season Yep, love your sentiment. We all desperately want to win the league but whether 1st 2nd or 3rd it is been an incredible journey and one that we should not consider as a one off event. We should cement a top 8 finish for seasons to come.
Eskay Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 What a wonderful moment in our history....just let it soak in. Think back to drawing to Hull 0-0 last season followed by a 4-3 loss away at white Hart lane. I was preparing for games against Derby and Bolton again! We're in the Champions League group stage!!!! I'm pinching myself that this is set in stone. If anybody thinks its easy....ask Everton, Liverpool, Man United, West ham and reigning champions Chelsea...how easy it is? What a day! f**k the haters...when have we needed help from outside before eh!?
reynard Posted 20 April 2016 Posted 20 April 2016 I'm just sitting here remembering how on 20th December 2008 I thought beating Peterborough at home 4-0 was a great day and that my club was on its way back from League 1 Now we're in next season's Champion's league. Please don't wake me up yet!
