Jace Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Could move again http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Leicester-City-look-ground-expansion-build-new/story-29238169-detail/story.html
Fox92 Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Everybody's dreams of rebuilding Filbert Street have come true.
Jace Posted 6 May 2016 Author Posted 6 May 2016 Everybody's dreams of rebuilding Filbert Street have come true. If that happened you know everyone would moan, remember the good old days of the King Power stadium where we'd sell out every week and make lots of noise with clappers
leicesterseddon Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Expansion will obviously be on the long-term agenda but I honestly can't see any firm plans being announced for 1-2 seasons at least.
Larry_LCFC Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Fvck moving again. There is no need whatsoever. Just add the extension.
foxile5 Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 It's a shame that Tigers have just expanded theirs, else we could've flogged the existing stadium to them and set about building a new one nearby.
m4DD0gg Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Its not like the owners dont have the money to build a new one. KP was done on a shoestring and is pretty shit to be honest. If they were to do it i would model it on Juventus stadium.
Jace Posted 6 May 2016 Author Posted 6 May 2016 Apparently they are looking at the old abandoned Filbert St site to move to.....
stevelcfc Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 I'm pretty sure the KP was designed to reach 55,000 which would easily be enough. The only reason why Top would build a new stadium is to make it more prestigious and architecturally appealing. If that the case surely there is things they could do to the KP, like a façade?
m4DD0gg Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Apparently they are looking at the old abandoned Filbert St site to move to..... yeh right
leicesterseddon Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Apparently they are looking at the old abandoned Filbert St site to move to..... Gonna call 'bollocks' on this one
foxoffderby Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Nothing surprises me anymore with the Thais. Whatever they do seems to be in the best interests of the club. If its feasable and the road infrastucture can handle more traffic and parking why not. A few years ago they wanted LCFC in the top 4 and people on here were laughing at that.
SpacedX Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 One thing it neglects to mention about the relocation...it's in Bangkok.
foxy boxing Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 No need to move again just expand the stadium if needed, they probably want more corporate fans (do we really want the prawn sandwich brigade)
Jace Posted 6 May 2016 Author Posted 6 May 2016 Tbh if they did do it its there money they are spending to do it we would be the 1s to gain from it, I'm sure the the best option really will turn out to do a major revamp of the King Power
foxoffderby Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Its not like the owners dont have the money to build a new one. KP was done on a shoestring and is pretty shit to be honest. If they were to do it i would model it on Juventus stadium. I have to agree with this. KP is a shit stadium done on the cheap.

The construction on the walkers as it was, had many corners cut once we had obvious problems in Tatter peelers years, the money had been spent and then relegation confirmed the big money was gone. It may well have been intended to be expanded when is was a design on a bit of paper, however I'm not sure that is the case now. and as our owners have the lifestyle they have, private jets, chopper, and some dude to make sure you don't get rained on , I would think they look at the emirates, with it's padded seating all round, whole tier of money making boxes and much nicer concourses, they may well have designs on something better than what we have.
Jace Posted 6 May 2016 Author Posted 6 May 2016 The Bede Island design was always a much better design than the current 1, its a shame that didn't go ahead it would be perfect for us right now
Mythyaar Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 I have to agree with this. KP is a shit stadium done on the cheap. So cheap we didn't actually pay for it.
m4DD0gg Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 You can see how crap the ground is internally and is falling to bits. The stand bouncing is pretty cool though.
Dodgy Bob Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 More than happy for the owners to splash the cash on a new stadium if that's what they want to do. What a statement of intent that would be. Go for it Top me old mucker.
purpleronnie Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 "Football is still difficult to say whether to expand. I want to see the numbers first. I want to work with the numbers, not just think that now 'Oh the demand is here, we have to build a new stadium or extend.' Let's see."Smart man.
