Christian Fuchs cannot understand why any of his Leicester City team-mates would want to leave the club after their remarkable season. Leicester City defender Christian Fuchs cannot understand speculation linking his team-mates with moves away from the club after their extraordinary Premier League triumph this season. The success of Leicester has seen a number of players – particularly PFA player of the year Riyad Mahrez and midfielder N’Golo Kante – linked with moves to other clubs. However, Fuchs says any of them would be crazy to leave, particularly with Champions League football next season now on offer. "We're playing Champions League football next season. Leicester City are playing Champions League football, isn’t that a good enough reason to stay at this club?" he said. "I think all the lads know what this team is all about. So why not stay? I believe that." Fuchs said he did not mind if the club decided to bring in new players, but insists whoever came in would have to fight for their spot in the first team. "Bringing in other players is not in my hands but it's going to be a tough challenge and I think everybody should simply look forward to it," the Austria international said. "It's going to be amazing to play in it – I played in it for three years [with Schalke] and I'm happy to be back." whoareyaaa Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 It is true, the quicker marhez and kante sign new deals the better, we don't want to hear that all summer long
Loggy88 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I really hope Mahrez and Kante stay like everyone else, I think Mahrez will stay but I think Kante could be harder to convince. He's the younger out of the two and could probably get in any team.
StanSP Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 So true. Hopefully he and others can persuade the players targeted by the media/other clubs to stay.
shawy2510 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 If he leaves then he is a Kante but either way good luck to him.
thybluefox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 If he leaves then he is a Kante but either way good luck to him. Eh?
MrSpaM Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Maybe Fuchs should go and tell Riyad's agent to stop being such a money grabbing bell end then

davieG Posted 9 May 2016 Author Posted 9 May 2016 I remember singing the chorus of this when Frank McLintock was being wooed by Arsenal back in '63. Seems appropriate now.

WigstonWanderer Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Obviously I'd like to see Mahrez & Kante stay for at least another season, but if they do decide to leave I think the team would cope. Whenever we have had a player out due to injury or suspension, they seemed to have coped fine despite concerns about some being irreplaceable. Kante, Huth, Vardy & Drinkwater have all been out at various times and Mahrez went through a bad patch, but somehow (IIRC) the team survived unscathed. Someone always seems to step up when needed. This team really are something special.
Alf Bentley Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Should have had Bocelli belt this one out on Saturday. Any waverers would have immediately sacked their agents and signed whatever contract was put in front of them....

ScouseFox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 basically exactly what i said months ago. nobody will leave.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Top signing was Fuchs. He's a classy left back and this season he looks great at PL level. He will be valuable in the Champions League next season, given he's played in the competition before. Hopefully all of the current team stay, but as Ranieri says it's important to have players who are happy at Leicester.
GaelicFox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Anyone who wants to go Should go with out love and blessings We won the league End of
RowlattsFox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 The big question for Kante and Mahrez is whether they think we can sustain this level. Their value may not ever be as high as it is right now. If we drop to mid-table next season will they get offers they will do this summer. Big decision for them. I'd be disappointed if they went somewhere else in this country.

If we drop to mid-table next season will they get offers they will do this summer. Big decision for them. I'd be disappointed if they went somewhere else in this country. Given that I've never seen Kante have a bad game I have no doubt he will maintain this level. I honestly think he would make any team in the world better.
Fox 4 Life Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I think Mahrez will stay. Kante, I am not sure how well he has settled in to the UK, he seems a very shy lad (looked almost embarrased to lift the trophy on Saturday!) so the chance to go to PSG may be too much to turn down. I would fume if he went to Arsenal though!
ThaiFox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Best left back I've ever seen at City, and he is obviously a brilliant team man too. The only reason players will leave is because greedy agents wanting more money for themselves with signing on fees. I'm sure they are all well looked after and well paid at Leicester City. Agents are one of the sores of football.
topharry123 Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I think we need to offer Kante and Mahrez new deals right now and get all the politics over before the summer break. Both need offering big deals and if they want to put a clause in their contract to allow them to leave in January say if we are out of the Champions league and not challenging in the league then so be it. But for now, we need to do what it takes to keep them. I see Mahrez being more difficult that Kante but we will see.
