bovril Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 The witch with the crown represents Mahrez's/ Kante's agent. Craig needs to have a word with his bloody sister.
AyewJoking Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 i think the only position we could do with a big money signing is the okazaki/ulloa second striker role. everywhere else, we just need back up but what kind of quality players are going to come just to be "back up"?
Culletonfox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Anyone who wants to go Should go with out love and blessings We won the league End of At a decent price mind you
Dodgy Bob Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Both Kante and Mahrez should stay, prove themselves in the champions league with us and then they'll get their dream moves to elite clubs where they will actually play. It would be ridiculous for either of them to leave us now for dross like arsenal or to sit on a bench and rot somewhere.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 If they go, they go, but we'd be mad to sell anyone to another PL team. I'd rather sell to Barcelona for £30m than Man City for £50m. We don't need the money and why would we want to give our best players to a direct rival?
MC Prussian Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 It's inevitable for some players to leave and I suspect the ones with contracts running out being let go on a free transfer. In order to cope with the European schedule and all those extra games, new signings will be made (Steve Walsh has confirmed that). But I'd say we can't keep a squad of 30, that'd be leathal. As for the others with multi-year contracts - they'd really be daft if they let all of this team spirit, cohesion and prospect of European football under these special circumstances go for a move away from the King Power.
Fox 4 Life Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 "I have just won the League and will be playing in the Champions League next year," Vardy said at the launch of his V9 Academy. "I am happy here. "It has been said before and I will say it again, we are literally all like brothers.” Love Vardy, let's hope he has a word with Mahrez and Kante
ian_marshall Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I don't think there's too much to worry about from the Premier League in all honesty. The way I see it they'll only go to another team offering Champions league football. That leaves one of Tottenham, Arsenal, Man City or Utd. Of those none of our better players will move to Spurs, I'd be surprised if any thought that Arsenal would be a step forward given their recent lack of success, and City need virtually a whole new team as the majority of their team have seen better days. The only one that would concern me would be Utd, as they have an exciting young team and should they make the CL have the heritage to turn player's heads. Having said that I'm not sure that Utd will make the CL anyway, as they have to overthrow City, hope that Liverpool don't win the EL, and then negotiate qualifying. Add to this that they'll be a low seed should they qualify and probably have a pretty tough group I'd like to think our players would stay with what they know best. Of course they'll always be the lure of football from abroad but again who could tempt these players. My opinion is that probably only Barca, Real, Atletico, Bayern, or PSG would be able to tempt them away but are our star players good enough to be first team regulars in any of these teams? I think Shakespeare may also point out Knockaert's journey to anyone thinking that the grass is greener on the other side. He could potentially have been a PL winner this season, but instead he went off in pursuit of a short lived stint in the CL and will now be plying his trade next season in the Championship. It'll be interesting to see what the players decide but I'm pretty confident we'll see them all playing at the KP next season.
smr Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I think they'll all stay, they'll get paid enough and played enough, in the CL, as Premier League Champions, what could be better? If the likes of Mahrez and Kante are gonna go anywhere surely it'd be to a top top European club like Real Madrid, Barcelona or PSG, but then they'd have to question how much game time they'd get, and how well received and loved they'd be by their fans, look at Bale and Real Madrid fans- they don't all love him...
Gerard Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 If they go, they go, but we'd be mad to sell anyone to another PL team. I'd rather sell to Barcelona for £30m than Man City for £50m. I hope they stay not just because they're our top class players but because it sends the wrong signal out to top class prospective signings that we've had a great time but now we're going to take the money and run.

I hope we do sell a few this summer but not our key players. Anyone not currently getting a game and a new signing comes in pushing them further down the pecking order then the right thing is to cash in on them especially if they're not a young developing player.

Socks Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 I reckon mahrez will go either way But think that will be it But thats why we bought grey aint it? That young lad will do very well for us next season. To com from Birmingham in the summer, put some quality performances in for us then lift the pl trophy the same season must be mind blowing for the yoof
TJB-fox Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 **** selling them. We won't make the step up to the next level if we turn into a Tottenham / Southampton and just sell sell sell to the big clubs. Play hardball, see what we can get and how long we can keep them for. We don't need to sell and we're building something strong here, they'd be idiots if they left anytime soon. Worried about Kante leaving, Mahrez and Vardy will stay.
KFS Posted 9 May 2016 Posted 9 May 2016 Riyad's post match comments on Sunday were enough for me. First time he's really said anything with true conviction to the media about being a band of brothers, rather that trotting out his usual "I do it for the team". N'golo worries me. Even lifting the trophy he looked a tad like an outsider. Although that could very easily be his shy personality; which would make me question if he would want all the pressures associated with a Real Madrid or PSG etc. There's no way any other team outside the Premier League would need his attributes, they win their leagues easily enough by sitting on posession and I'm not sure he's quite the pass master he can be yet. Crazy he's got more room to get better.

st albans fox Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Interesting comments - mostly revolving around Kante and Mahrez. Ceefax gossip today had something about Arsenal beginning negotiations for the two - but that was sourced from 'Football France'. They would, wouldn't they? - after all Arsenal is France's top club. I would have thought both players have France based agents. therefore, perhaps might be more to it than if it were a uk sourced article. despite riyad saying he wants to stay, his agent will be trying to extract the biggest contract he can so don't be surprised to see more of this stuff until we either announce they have signed new contracts or you read that talks are actually underway to sell one (or both) of them!!
RoboFox Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Interesting comments - mostly revolving around Kante and Mahrez. Ceefax gossip today had something about Arsenal beginning negotiations for the two - but that was sourced from 'Football France'. They would, wouldn't they? - after all Arsenal is France's top club. It would be interesting to find out just what the two are thinking. If left to his own devices I believe Mahrez would automatically stay. Kante appears to do all his speaking on the pitch so he is very difficult to 'read' without the sound-bites usually dropped for the media to savour. Fuchs is right - why would you leave a team which had won the title so effectively. I'm not going to say easily because it was bloody hard work for the squad - even following it has seemed that way. But by at least seven points and thirteen at most - and with two games in hand. The only time they really fell apart was the first game against Arsenal. By the time of the return game Arsenal had the dice well in their favour. The squad have Champion's League to look forward to (with much confidence) and the other 'fancied' Premier teams (bar Spurs) are either in transition or disarray. Chelsea, Man CIty, Man Utd and Arsenal all have significant internal challenges facing them next season. Leicester are, at the moment, the tightest outfit by far. I think Kante is the glue that binds it together at the back - takes a lot of pressure off the defence. He's almost as invisible as the ref, yet he disrupts the rhythm of the opposition so effectively! Seeing City play Barca or Bayern without him would be like eating chips without salt & vinegar. I'd love to see how he might cope with Neymar and Messi. The club could probably afford to pay him what he asks but how would that sit with the others? I don't think he is ego led - like Ronaldo for example. So I wonder what are his motivation(s) - why he would stay is clear enough, to the fans, but why might he leave? Wait... Are you posting on this forum from 1988?
Manwell Pablo Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Ultimately they are comments made by a left full back who is going nowhere regardless, he has his career plan, and Danny Simpson, who don't get me wrong did his job but I think you can slot any basic well disciplined right full back into that 11, the team ain't getting much worse. They have selfish reasons to want the lads at the other end of the field scoring 40 odd goals and the outstanding holding midfielder in front of them to stay. Obviously it depends on who the buying club is, Riyad mahrez has played a huge part in giving us something we thought so impossible we haven't even dreamed about, his dream is to play for Barcelona so if they came knocking he'd 100% have backing to leave if that's what he wanted. Ideally everyone will stay and we will make a good go of next season but we will see.
foxfanazer Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I feel strangely calm about thile possibility of players like Kante and Mahrez leaving. I wouldn't want them here if they aren't 100% behind what we're trying to achieve here. Yes they're the best players we've had at the club but only when they're happy. I have faith in our scouting team to unearth more hidden gems
Hollism Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 There was an interview in FourFourTwo with Riyad a few months ago (the one where he said he thought Leicester was a rugby team), and it highlighted how he'd promised his late father that he'd play for Barca one day. I think if Barca did come in for him and managed to convince him he'd have a part to play, then he'd be off. Similarly I think Kasper would go to Man United if the opportunity rose. I can't see Vardy going anywhere for as long as we want him to stay. I guess if he could choose, he'd play for us for as long as he was a regular then see out his career at Sheff Wednesday? Kante is impossible to even guess at though. The only thing I'd even attempt to predict would be that would be that no one is going anywhere this summer. I expect to be a bit more concerned coming up to January if we aren't competing at the top.
