Mike Oxlong Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 That joker Fuchs put superglue on the trophy handles just before Top picked it up.
Bellend Sebastian Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 We'll be complaining that the opera singer couldn't see next
st albans fox Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I think we learn by experience. It was far larger mass of people (and interviews) than two years ago. if it ever happened again, I would prefer a quick lap by the players and close support staff, trophy in tow followed by the slower one (with their families and wider club staff/owners) we saw on Saturday. if it ever happened again .................. It's not like we've played anyone decent yet!
m4DD0gg Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Whole presentation and lap was poor as do most of the people I have spoken to Leicester fans or otherwise think. Way to many hangers on, trophy virtually confiscated by owners, half of we are the champions and no quo. Modern football.
David Hankey Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Why do folk have to moan about Saturday's tremendous unforgettable day, we've just gone and won the most prestigious domestic title in the world. No doubt if it needs improvement it'll be better next season as they will have learnt from last Saturday's ecstatic scenes.
Ric Flair Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I was pissed up I admit but to me it looked like Top was carrying it and showing it off to the fans as a thank you for our support. It certainly didn't look like he was being self centered. Anyway I really don't care.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Just when I thought it was safe to go back into the water, Foxes Talk reaches an all time low. You miserable moaning gits we've just won the Premier League and still there's moans, incredulous! Have none of you actually thought it was a momentous and surreal thing for them too that just happened how it happened. Sorry the club didn't get Louis Spence into choreograph it for you, and it happened spontaneously!
kushiro Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 They demurred at first but were cajoled/coaxed into the 'frame'. Whatever you think of it, it's pretty difficult to argue that they were somehow coaxed into it. The picture of the king was clearly prepared in advance for the Thai lap of honour. I'd like to have seen the players 'running round Wembley with the cup' as the old chant goes, but yeah, it's a minor quibble.
ImBlue Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Only thing that was crap. I left as they were doing it. I understand why they are there as they want to share it with them, but the atmosphere and response would have been so much better if it was just all the players, that cannot be denied. It kinda killed it and spelt home time.
stripeyfox Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Overall of course it was a brilliant day and an unforgettable season. But I did leave feeling a little deflated by the "lap of honour". Far too many people on the pitch. Wives and kids I can understand but there were bloody hundreds of them? How many brothers/cousins has Jeff Schlupp got? One of the things I was looking forward to most was seeing Kingy and Vardy etc taking it in turns to show the trophy to the crowd. We didn't get any of that. I am aware it appears to be against FoxesTalk law to "moan" about this but there we go. Maybe the lap of honour isn't for the fans, but for the players, families and chairman etc? In that case, fine. Perhaps a lap with the players first then all the families could join them for a second lap?
Bettsj2 Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 The only thing that could have spoilt that was if Gary Birtles showed up, nicked the microphone and banged on about Forest winning the European cup. Can only see it as perfect.
Rob1742 Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 In fairness it was poor. Too many non players on the pitch. Should have kept the non players in some sort of enclosure on the pitch and if anything, just let their kids walk round with them. I went before they had come off as you couldn't see the players for the family members etc. Also pretty sure players mates were on the pitch too. One player I spotted had his mates on there. I mean, where do you draw the line? Couldn't really see anything, very poor indeed. Looking back, I will have memories of Eden Hazard scoring as I was behind the goal at Chelsea. Also memories of the Italian singer. Hopefully good memories tonight at the player of the year awards, but no memories of the cup being lifted.
Ollie93 Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I thought the lap was great. Most players came across singularly and applauded us in L1, I think it was Vichai who actually climbed over the barrier for a picture with someone at the front. Maybe if the Kop made more noise the players might realise you were there
Jimothy Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Whatever you think of it, it's pretty difficult to argue that they were somehow coaxed into it. The picture of the king was clearly prepared in advance for the Thai lap of honour. I'd like to have seen the players 'running round Wembley with the cup' as the old chant goes, but yeah, it's a minor quibble. I would imagine that the picture was going to paraded round whether Top had the trophy or not. Both of them were obviously invited forward into the celebrations and the picture by the players and Ranieri, they were handed the cup on several occasions by the players, it's all there on video evidence for all to see. And as someone else said the players, everyone of them, clearly like them. Each one gave them a hug as they went for their medals. Would you feel comfortable hugging your boss if you didn't consider him a mate? There's obviously a lot of good feeling between the players and owners.
Bunyip Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I think they used the families as some kind of human shield to stop the fans invading the pitch. Very inscrutable these foreigners are .
smr Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I thought that the players would come around the pitch a bit more than they did, it wasn't their fault, but it was good to celebrate with Top etc. and see the Thai guys lapping it up, after all without them we wouldn't have won the Premier League and they deserve all the plaudits they can get. Can't complain though and didn't really think about it at the time.
howlinmadmurfdoc Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 A football club isn't just the players though is it? Everyone on the pitch was there for a reason, whether they've played a part or the players wanted them there. We've just pulled off the biggest thing in football history and still people look for things to moan about. I look forward to next weeks, "the open top bus was slightly the wrong shade of blue" thread.
melrose Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 I did think at the time that Top was hogging the trophy somewhat He should have handed it back to the players but I think he got carried away It didn't spoil it for me, I just thought it was a bit odd!
monsgon Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 ....and the free beer was badly organised, and I don't like Pizza Hut..... bastards
DB11 Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 Can you blame them? Fans ruined it two years ago during the parade after the Championship so I'm not surprised they did it how they did and had as many 'mates' etc on as they could. Fans only have themselves to blame...
kyleolly Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 couldn't see the trophy presentation as all the friends and family were standing on the pitch directly infront of us.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 10 May 2016 Posted 10 May 2016 couldn't see the trophy presentation as all the friends and family were standing on the pitch directly infront of us. Should've gone to specsavers
