Lol! Click bait much. Well known LCFC journo writes story about one of our targets joining the club that's just nabbed our chief scout. And throws in rediculous transfer fee to fit in line with the new "moneybags Everton" approach the press are pushing.

Except the telegraph have been spot on all summer re Leicester.. Matt Law & John Percy most of the time

anyway doesnt matter, as people have said Sigurdsson is well known. Hardly a secret and wouldn't be considered exceptional scouting as everyone knows his capabilities

Yep that was my point, makes the story more believable and gets people to click through :)

Disagree with the people not rating Siggy, he's a class act and has been for years. I don't know how well he would fit in to our current system but he's lightyears ahead of his team mates at Swansea and he knows it.

£25m to me, in these prices, considering Mane et all are going for thereabouts or me, well to me £25m is not a bad price to pay at all.

Everton will sign him I think..

Can probably Offer him the most money and that seems the driving force for all players today.. Over and above the chance to play in the CL.

He isn't worth 25mill. Everton are welcome to him at that price, don't think he'd suit us anyway

He is well worth that in today's market. When the price for Michael Keane is being set at £15-20m he is anyway.

And as far as his style of play, Iceland played the same style as we won the league doing, and did pretty well at it, which is completely different to the way Swansea play. So he is obviously adaptable.

Plays in the same position and style to Barkley.

Everton will face the same supposed FFP restrictions as every other PL team. They may have been bought out but their turnover is going to be less than ours given what we've achieved. If we really want to we could blow these horrible scrotes out the water, perhaps we are reasonably happy with our squad and don't need to be going all guns for loads of players?

Excellent player, works hard, and would suit us. £25m in this market is about the going rate.

Doubt they are letting him go, I would welcome him.

He would get half a dozen goals at least from dead ball situations

FFP (in its watered down guise) exists in Europe and not the PL.

the PL has an agreed overall salary increase system. Everton will be paying their players much higher salarys than we are (on average).  They haven't been very active in the market over recent times. They have some catching up to do as far as spending money is concerned. If they want to spend 20m on Keane and 25m on sig then it's no issue for them.  Tbh, we still have a good 60m/80m to spend in this window as so far we have spent nowt! taking the improved contracts into account brings that down to 45/60m.  anyone care to guess how much of that we will actually spend?

Ranieri 's quote.. 'the market has closed ' suggests all outgoings and incomings are finished?

I thought that was in regard to Mahrez as he's already said he still wanted players recently. It's his poor grasp of the language in my opinion but who knows.

Shortly before that comment he said he was looking to bring a couple more in, so I think it's safe to say he was just talking about Mahrez with the 'market is closed' comment.

Quite surprised about this actually, Sigurdsson is very alike Barkley?

Or maybe this move is to try & push forward their pursuit for Juan Mata...

I would rather have Sigurdsson over Barkley any day.  Barkley is too greedy, takes too long on the ball and runs down blind alleys getting surrounded.  Like Stones he uses a bit of skill to get out of a tight situation he has created, and looks good, but in doing so puts his team mates under pressure.

Sigurdsson would be great, he does his job really well and can pull something special out of nowhere.  I doubt Swansea would sell as unless they improve they will be in the same situation

Just read Swansea are lining up a bid for Tottenham's Nacer Chadli, 15m.

I'd definitely welcome him here. He'd be a great signing for the Swans though.

I'd love us to sign Sigurdsson. 25m sounds a lot but it's all relative now, who could we sign for 25m that would be better than him?

Knows the prem inside out and he is probably one of the best free kick takers in the league.
