Chester Dontlie Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Voted. It's no contest imho. Sure there's few great goals there but it would be a travesty if someone wins it over Vardy Alli? The ball bounced before finding the net. That's not very pretty, imho. Also, no disrespect to Palace, but Vardy's goal against Liverpool was much more meaningful... A stunner which sums up this perfect season
Brooksy Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Has to be Alli. Owen said it on Twitter the other day. There's no particular skill to Vardy's. Anyone could do that on their day. Alli's is just class. You could say that about any goal
ousefox Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 You could say that about any goalThe point I was making was what Owen suggested - ask any professional player which goal took the most skill and it's clearly Alli's.Maybe it's because I played football in some fairly good teams and have seen goals like Vardy's quite a few times. Alli's was something special and is not something a lot of players attempt to do, and can do.

What, hit a bobbling volley? all biases aside, vardys is the better goal, it's a great assist and a superb hit. Allis is a good bit of control but its a really scruffy shot. For me it'd be Ritchie's goal, that is a spectacular strike.
TheSomersetFox Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 the fvck was Lloris doing for Newcastle's 5th? wrong thread.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Vardy for me the pace he runs at, attention of defender has to break his run slightly, look up to see where keeper is to smash a ball with ferocious pace and accuracy falling out of the night sky over his shoulder, all in a split second decision making time!
Lloydwasmylife Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Got to be Martina's for me. Look better every time you see it
HighPeakFox Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Strange twist, the 'panel' gets the choice of the top 3
theessexfox Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Strange twist, the 'panel' gets the choice of the top 3 Cos the Arsenal fans all got on it last year and gave it to Wilshere I imagine
Rincewind Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Is Mahrez's in the list? For individual skill that is the best. For opportunism Vardy's is best. It is hard to choose one from another because they are good in different ways. How can you say an individual spur of the moment strike is better than a team effort both that may involve defensive errors? Vardy's was good because he knew the goalkeeper was prone to be off the line and waited for the chance and hoped for the best. Mahrez knew he had the beating of the defenders so was showing off. The other contenders I cannot say as I am biased.
orangecity23 Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Cos the Arsenal fans all got on it last year and gave it to Wilshere I imagine Good they've taken measures to stop that, but have they taken any measures to prevent Garth Crooks from breaking into the room where the panel is choosing best goal, then selecting as the top 3: Dele Alli, Harry Kane, an extra unlisted Harry Kane goal - then finishing off by stripping his clothes off and writhing his grotesque frog like body over a bizarre montage of Kane photos that he printed on the office printer and a tin of spilled Alphabetti spaghetti. Bit of an oversight if they've not covered it, at the very least they need to keep Garth and Danny Mills off the CC list for the group email about it.
promised land Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Did I just here Sunderland sing 'Leicester city we're coming for you'?
bovril Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Spurs finally win a trophy. Made up for them. Genuinely. What a story.
