The Year Of The Fox Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 I still think Drinkwater will go. He was poor the other night but Hodgson does seem to like him. People going OTT about Rashford. Think he's promising but not ready. How do you define, 'not ready'? I think what our side have lacked since Rooney in 2004 and Owen in 98 is a young player playing without the fear. Use him now before Hodgson gets chance to turn him into a vegetable in 2018. It's the same with Vardy, he doesn't know how to play football any differently to what he does with city. That's great as an England fan, if only we didn't have a manager who was scared to put him to his best use.

Barkley hasn't played in either of the friendlies despite no reports of an injury. Townsend didn't start the Australia match despite being one of the out of the blue call ups who needs to prove his form and Sturridge is struggling to get fit. 3 from those 4, has to be. EDIT: Deplh has already been dropped, so only two to be dropped today.

It's disgusting. I am a massive England fan but part of me wants us to fail again as the bias that goes on with England is sickening.

Spot on To add to that the injury problems Wiltshire and Henderson have had makes the decision remarkably poor. Also that the media apply pressure to take Rashford who is nowhere near ready because he had a decent half against a poor Australia side makes it even worse. I think he's not a bad player but he wasn't MOTM worthy the other night. He took his goal well but I thought other than that he was very 'meh'. I think he's a decent prospect but not someone who'll carry us like Rooney or Owen did, they both looked a lot better at that age. More than happy to be proven wrong though.

Drinkwater has been outstanding all season - he deserves to go, simply as that. Rashford is the wildcard and sometimes you need one in there to brighten up a very dull squad. Ok we're all excited about Vardy but he's never going to get the respect he deserves and utilized in the way that makes him devastating. Sturridge would be dropped over Rashford as his injury problems are a farce, he'll be taken based on the fact he cannot be guaranteed to be fit so therefore we still need 4 strikers when what should be considered is the fact he'll get injured means he shouldn't be anywhere near the squad. The calculated gamble of all the injured players is Wilshere as he gives something a bit different, Henderson is quite similar to Drinkwater whose had an unreal season so he goes and Jordan can go on holiday the twat.

It shouldn't be a decision based on whether he is ready or not. Simply put, we don't need to take him if we take Sturridge. Taking both is pointless and will probably lead to him dropping Drinkwater. Why not just put him down as a reserve and call him up if Sturridge gets injury (again)???

ScouseFox Posted 31 May 2016 Posted 31 May 2016 always wanted us to take 5 strikers tbf. especially if we take rooney, kane, sturridge, rashford and vardy. all completely different. all great options. it's taking what, 7 or 8 centre mids? that is the issue here. barkley, henderson, dier, drinkwater, milner, alli, wilshere, delph (alright he's out). what the hell are we going to do with all of them? even if we play a diamond we're probably going to play rooney deeper so we will have 4 spare centre mids. WICKED.
