Jimothy Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 What the **** has Rashford done to deserve a call up? Played for man Utd.
RoboFox Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 What the **** has Rashford done to deserve a call up? He's basically only been invited along so Dele Alli has someone to play Pokemon cards with...
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Young Scored goals Fearless His development will improve in the long term with being around the squad He might just love it and score for fun It's a joke tbh. Spain etc take it seriously, while we use it as some kind of jolly

Jazzy_Jeff Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Hart Walker Smalling Cahill Rose Dier Henderson Rooney Alli (Diamond) Vardy Kane BOSH.
Dodgy Bob Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Young Scored goals Fearless His development will improve in the long term with being around the squad He might just love it and score for fun Isn't that what the U21's are for? Why, of all the players with potential to play for England, has Rashford been given this opportunity and nobody else? What has he done to deserve preferential treatment?I remember Sven giving Walcott a similar opportunity and it ended up being a total waste of a squad place and there's no evidence Walcott benefitted from it. His career has gone nowhere.
Dodgy Bob Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 This is honestly the biggest issue to me in England's squad. Too much time and energy will be spent debating the midfielders and the strikers, but if I were supporting England, the center back situation would scare me the most. Not enough quality, not enough depth. If the players don't exist then there's nothing you can do. The midfield and attack situation is more frustrating because we do have the players, but Hodgson won't play the strongest of them in order to get his (or possibly the sponsors) favourites in at any cost.
walkerleeds Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 The potentially talented midfield and attack will be let down by the shambles that is our defence anyway.

What has he done to deserve preferential treatment? Agree totally .What must some other under 21s be thinking. Its only my opinion, but you have to earn the right, on different levels. He might not even get on the plane, but we have older talent that deserved a new chance, Defoe, Carroll, or their 1st chance, Deeney, Noble, Antonio, etc.

It gives off absolutely the wrong message to potential England players - that playing for Manchester United gives you a better chance of getting in the England team regardless of your form or how good you are. That provides an incentive for future players to go to the big clubs, where the vast majority will be chewed up and spat out, when if they'd have gone to a smaller club they might have had a chance. We talk about the big clubs not being of benefit to the national team, and they're not, the last thing we want is the England manager effectively telling young players they should go to those clubs if they want to play for England. It's appalling from Hodgson, an absolute joke. I can't wait for him to be sacked after he fails miserably in a third consecutive tournament.
Guest Manini Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 I'm not gonna moan because I'm made up for Vardy and Drinkwater....but ****ing Jack Wiltshere?! The blokes clearly on a wind up
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 There's not much natural width in that squad (again, grrr, he did this last time). True, I'm not exactly sure who he would include (not Walcott) to really achieve that. Henderson's had an injury recently as well hasn't he? For me, that means Roy can't really justify taking both Wilshire and Henderson - you might take one risky pick, but not two, especially as one of the fit midfielders is also providing cover at centre half. The fact that Dier is twinning as a centre half makes it look like Drinkwater will be included in the final 23. Disappointed that none of Cresswell, Tomkins, Shawcross or Dawson have been given a closer look. The thinness of this squad also suggests future England mangers will need to start paying attention to the Chamipionship a lot more.
Raw Dykes Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Hart Walker Smalling Cahill Rose Dier Henderson Rooney Alli (Diamond) Vardy Kane BOSH. Yeah. Looks alright. I'd just swap Rooney for Drinkwater, but we all know that's never going to happen in a billion years. Centre half is the weakest area in my opinion. Shame we haven't got a Terry/Ferdinand/Campbell/Adams in his prime.
biggs Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 There's a number of dodgy characters in that 26. We have a weak back line and will need a strong midfield to compensate. Drinks is a must having played all year with a team that knows how to play while holding less possession. Would be mad if he's not guaranteed a starting position.
Wymsey Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 If Butland wasn't injured, I'd put him instead of Hart - quite bad positioning for Swansea's goal yesterday.

I would not at all be surprised if he was dropped from the squad At least we know Vardy is going to play in some shape or form, surely!?

Mezeker Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 I would take Wilshere in a big tournament over Drinkwater, Noble, etc. You all can say what you want about who is more deserving but a healthy Whilshere offers the England squad something they cant get from the other players available to them.

He's an overhyped, over paid fanny. He's got glass knees, fair enough, he has a bit of talent about him. But he's made it quite clear in the past he'd rather waste it by boozing and smoking in London taxi's and outside nightclubs. **** him, I'm not getting behind him if he goes. He's played one game this season, it's an absolute travesty he's even being mentioned in the same breath as Drinkwater, Christ even ****ing Mark Nobel for that matter, who can't get a look in!
Mezeker Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 But he isn't healthy is he he may not be 100% match sharp, but he has time to get there before everything starts. All things equal Englnd have a better chance of winning with him in the squad.

Benguin Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Noble said he's better than drinky. I feel he should have been in the squad but he's a **** for stating this.
Fox 4 Life Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Noble said he's better than drinky. I feel he should have been in the squad but he's a **** for stating this. It wasn't real, someone on twitter photoshopped it
