The Doctor Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 That's not really how it works though, is it? It's not like you categorically have to play well for the under-21s or you won't be selected for the full squad. If you're good enough you'll be in with the seniors - Michael Owen only had one under 21 cap, an age level where Francis Jeffers remains our nation's top scorer. Who would you have rather had at the turn of the millennium? Owen was making defenders look like prats at the top of club football then tbf, Rashford isn't really doing anything similar.
Harry96 Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Drinky starting today apparently with Henderson and wilshere. Will be interesting to see how he does especially without Vardy.
Langston Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Owen was making defenders look like prats at the top of club football then tbf, Rashford isn't really doing anything similar. Wasn't the point I was addressing was it, really.
The Doctor Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Wasn't the point I was addressing was it, really. The point you were making is if you've done well enough at club level then who cares about youth internationals. Rashford hasn't, making your comment about Owen pretty much irrelevant.

Rashford has offered more than any other hypothetical fourth choice striker has in the latter half of this season (and I include Sturridge and Welbeck in that) so I don't see why he'd have to prove himself with the U-21s. You could argue Carroll perhaps?

RowlattsFox Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Its unfortunate that vardy played predominantly without Drinkwater and Drinkwater will play without vardy. Bigger challenge for Drinkwater though. Hopefully he can show he can play effectively with other players.
Langston Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Defoe firing Sunderland to safety? Fair. I'd sooner give him the experience though, I don't like Roy but I do think Rashford is a serious talent and we should encourage that rather than chastise his selection.
steflcfc Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Good luck Danny Know you will show your class this season again. Show wilshere and hendo how it's done. A real shame if he doesn't make the Euros. Hope Rashford copes with the pressure at a young age that the media are putting on him. Start upfront....something Vardy cannot get, and only gets put upfront when Woy needs bailing out
Tielemans63 Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Honestly lads, is it just me who cannot see what Adam Lallana offers? What does the guy do? He's not a bad player but he doesn't seem that good either to me? Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
Legend_in_blue Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Lallana and Sterling are dreadful. As is Henderson. Wilshere isnt fit. If Drinkwater doesn't go, I'll be extremely annoyed.
Wymsey Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Am I the only one who think the players aren't at their best in these friendlies, but will surprise a lot of us in France?
Stadt Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Am I the only one who think the players aren't at their best in these friendlies, but will surprise a lot of us in France? we'll be better when it comes to the actual tournament
The Year Of The Fox Posted 27 May 2016 Posted 27 May 2016 Am I the only one who think the players aren't at their best in these friendlies, but will surprise a lot of us in France? No. They're obviously trying to stay injury free.Rashford has to go for me. Not just based on tonight either. Great finish by Rooney too (yeh I said it)

Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk Agree with you here I would lose 1 of Lallana or Barkley similar players Sterling for me reminds me of when Aaron Lennon played for England, but of pace, beats a man and no final ball....50m Liverpool were laughing all the way to the bank with his trasfer fee
Countryfox Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 If Woy leaves Drinky out like that complete t&sser Hoddle has suggested, it will confirm that he is clueless and hasn't got a fvckin clue what he is doing.
Fox92 Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 If Woy leaves Drinky out like that complete t&sser Hoddle has suggested, it will confirm that he is clueless and hasn't got a fvckin clue what he is doing. We don't need that to confirm. He is useless; he hasn't got a clue what he's doing.
Ric Flair Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 Whose missing out then? Got a feeling it'll be Drinkwater and Townsend or Sturridge. Rashford is on the plane.
Dan Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 I still think Drinkwater will go. He was poor the other night but Hodgson does seem to like him. People going OTT about Rashford. Think he's promising but not ready.
ScouseFox Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 rashford will 1000% go. drinkwater, delph and townsend (unless sturridge is legit injured) will be dropped. rashford won't feature until we are 2-0 down with 3 minutes of injury time to go on our way out. can't wait.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 Just me who'd drop Barkley? He's become so irrelevant people have even forgotten him when thinking of players to drop tbf
Dan Posted 30 May 2016 Posted 30 May 2016 Strong rumours doing the rounds that Delph, Barkley and Drinkwater have been dropped. He's a clown. EDIT: In-before someone links this post to my one above this
