Mostly started by Russians and French to be honest. Watching the French game peacefully neR the queen vic pub and out of nowhere the Russians stormed in.

During the melee I was speaking to English police who were there in blue vests and they were saying the French police were way out of order

It's beyond a joke now how we get blamed for this.

Two calls tonight both saying Russians and locals starting fights and yet English fans still get the blame, beyond a joke here how so many people hate their own people for stuff they aren't responsible for.

Wouldn't happen anywhere else.

So other people made England fans pick up bottle and chairs and launch them did they?

Granted England fans are getting unfair bad press with some of the incidents, but at the same time, they are to blame aswell. Those facebook videos earlier show England fans goading the police and lobbing glass bottles. No denying it and no opposition fans in sight. That is scummy behaviour.

the police presence is insane. just let them drink and be merry. things are only gonna kick off when you're trying to have a pint and sing ten german bombers and you're suddenly surrounded by 500 french police with 50 dogs, have the world's supply of tear gas and a shitload of weapons.

it's the same as most aways. if you just let people go about their business 99% will have a good, jovial time. it only worsens situations when you're herded off a train, locked in some shit pub or outside a concourse and told you can't do this, stop doing that etc.

fans shouldn't lob bottles at police but if they weren't being unnecessarily overcrowded by said police there'd be none to lob any bottles at in the first place.

If I remember correctly the venues are assigned to each group before it is known who will be in each group, so it was not a conscious decision to put England in Marseilles.

Thing is though with how security is in france at the moment are you surprised at the show of force?

If things kick off regardless of who starts they're clearly gonna show zero tolerance

Why are England fans still singing about German Bombers?

Last time I heard that I was in Portugal watching Holland V Latvia who were teams in our group and several England fans were in front of me swearing at women and children and were totally threatening - had Millwall tattoos too.

Absolutely embarrassed that day.

Having said that - I have no doubt that we will take all the blame, French policing will be act first think later, Russian fans who are looking for trouble will be prepared and willing to go far further than Queensbury rules.

What's frustrating is that its all nonsense - French authorities need to be concentrating on real threats not all this mindless shite.

Hooligans kicked the Englishman, wearing an orange t-shirt, on the floor before throwing him over the harbour wall and into the sea.

The fan, sporting a black eye, was later seen swimming to shore.

A police source said: ‘We are checking on a report that an English supporter was drunk and fell into the harbour. This has been a bad day for the city and it has not been helped by the behaviour of the England supporters.’

Actually feel very safe over here. We was on the old port last night seen local youths starting to gather in mass numbers on a corner decided to call it a day in the pub we was in. Went McDonald's, come out went down a few side alleys bumped into what must of been 20 non uniformed police with M16S guns on them with orange raping around their arm.

It was a conscious decision not to change it once it happened

If the French were serious they would have closed all the bars yesterday and opened segregated areas

I do think the English lads get bad press

I do think a small minority go looking for trouble and the French cops will over react to those few

And I do fear this will inspire other thugs to get down to france this week

Only an English mob would singing anti IRA songs while drinking in a Irish Pub all day and complementing the owner on his good beer lol LOL lol

the Irish man also confirmed the English fans in his pub didn't start any trouble they were attacked by local scum and then the cops waded into the English lads after the desert rat scum had cleared off

Makes you wonder if cops and local gangs are in cahoots

So the amount of police force is responsible for the fighting in the streets? lol

Sorry, but that's absolute bollocks. Just an excuse to divert from the fact that England and Russia fans are attacking each other and dimwits fueled by alcohol fighting with local residents.

Like most of these stories the reaction is typical, Mattp probably thinks no english fan does anything wrong ever. And others on here totally blame english fans.

The truth is (as usual) is that some english fans we're behaving like morons and some locals and some fans from other countries starting trouble.

Amongst all the naughty crap it's great to see the first meeting of the "Nigel Pearson Appreciation Society" went really well

Why were leicester fans singing 10 german bombers when we played werder bremen in a friendly the other year? Cos they're effin retards, that's why. I blame standing, give a football fan an inch and he'll take a mile.

Because it is a totally unrealistic thing to rearrange a tournements whole logistics just to save a few scuffles

Well the rest of Europe could do what they did before... and just ban us from playing abroad.

Not true the French have plans in place to move teams in security issues arose !

This is and has always been a security issue

48 hours of pitch fights and serious assaults is not a few scuffles

It Had cross my mind , How do UEFA check the rise of the premier league ?

Ramp up England fans get them fighting and causing trouble then ban all England teams from Europe for a few years because of those England fans

Slightly paranoid , slightly possible

So the photos of the pub 'set on fire by England fans', was actually a pub which was attacked by the French who threw Flares into it.

The Russians are now having a pop at the English in front of the Old Bill and surprise surprise, the police aren't bothered.
