Guest CityFan 06 Posted 28 May 2016 Posted 28 May 2016 Anyone know the last time the 6th placed team got promoted through the play offs? 2004-05 season - West Ham. EDIT: Realised it's actually Blackpool 2009/10. Guest kristianity77 Posted 28 May 2016 Posted 28 May 2016 I'm not 100% but didn't the Championship play off used to be on the bank holiday Monday? Yep. It used to go League 2 on the Saturday, League 1 on the Sunday and finishing the Championship final on the Monday. For some reason past few years they have done it the other way round.
