GaelicFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 It's been revealed Fleetwood Town will get 25% of any Vardy transfer fee Means we could get just £15m or less for a player who was one goal shy of the golden boot and a PL record holder Wow ..... The sell on clause looks more and more like a disaster Anyone know if there has been paper talk taht mahrez or Kante have similar sell on clauses in thier contracts ?
Matt Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Rudkin You've played a blinder offering that contract Now get the fuck out of this club. Idiot. Even if Vardy doesn't decide to go, it's quite scary how badly Vardy's contract has been handled, They really did shoot theirselves in the foot when offering it him, there was no need, not when it seem Vardy/his agent have requested a release clause as low as it is.
UPinCarolina Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Wow. That's game changing money for Fleetwood Town.

He couldn't make a happy meal in mc Donald's the **** Wow. That's game changing money for Fleetwood Town. Massive stuff ! Equivalent to winning the FA cup !!!!!
Amin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Happy for Fleetwood tbh. £5m makes a lot more difference for them than it does for us.
GaelicFox Posted 4 June 2016 Author Posted 4 June 2016 Happy for Fleetwood tbh. £5m makes a lot more difference for them than it does for us. I agree , good on them but really the buy out clause now looks stupid ! Considering 25% is going north
Ozwin Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 *Insert metaphor regarding John Rudkin's twitchy bum hole here*
brockmyster Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 In all fairness when we signed him no one was expecting a £20miilion bid to ever be placed for him were they hence the high sell on clause
UPinCarolina Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Happy for Fleetwood tbh. £5m makes a lot more difference for them than it does for us. Some good might come out of all this rubbish. Maybe they can use it to buy a difference maker in League One.
Wymsey Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Pleased for Fleetwood. A well-run club, unlike their bitter rivals down the road...
GaelicFox Posted 4 June 2016 Author Posted 4 June 2016 Some good might come out of all this rubbish. Maybe they can use it to buy a difference maker in League One. They can buy Blackpool
StanSP Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 can people realise the 25% fee that Fleetwood will get would have been part of Vardy's transfer to us 4 years ago?
Kitchandro Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Bloody hell we are getting taken to the cleaners on this one
Matt Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 can people realise the 25% fee that Fleetwood will get would have been part of Vardy's transfer to us 4 years ago? I'm not disputing that. It just makes the £20m release clause even more laughable though. Surely you account for that. £20m is too low as it is, to not even get the full £20m...well...

Guest Col city fan Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Blimey! If this happens my money is on Fleetwood for automatic promotion!
Guest Col city fan Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 In all fairness when we signed him no one was expecting a £20miilion bid to ever be placed for him were they hence the high sell on clauseExactly this. Are people forgetting how much a gamble Vardy was and how even until the arse end of last season he couldn't hit a barn door? It's FOUR years ago. No one would or could have predicted this. I think people are just hurting we might lose him. The barmy contract was in the release clause, not the sell on fee. Seeing how he was playing, to make his release clause just 20 mill was naive. It should have been higher. THAT's where we've dropped a bollock.
Koke Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 £5m for a club like Fleetwood is massive. I'm glad it's going to them and not some billy big bollocks Championship club.
fuchsntf Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Someone once said.. do your math, 25% of nothing still remains nothing.. Fleetwood mac, will have a better chance of making a bonus.. Pubs in M.harborough want to keep the Vardy party on their doorsteps. Vardy got turned down trying to get in a London N.club
ramboacdc Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Wow. That's game changing money for Fleetwood Town. *runs to bet on them winning the league next season*
FireFox Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 Blimey! If this happens my money is on Fleetwood for automatic promotion! What are the odds now? Might be worth a bet now just in case the bookies are prepared to adjust them.
Manwell Pablo Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 In all fairness when we signed him no one was expecting a £20miilion bid to ever be placed for him were they hence the high sell on clause This, also sell on's, like buy out clauses, are part and parcel of football. Ridiculous to suggest anyone should leave the club because a sell on was negotiated with one of our players, all those signed for money probably have one. I'm a little confused though, surely we should have looked to increase the amount of the buyout when he received his massive pay rise.
Merging Cultures Posted 4 June 2016 Posted 4 June 2016 In all fairness when we signed him no one was expecting a £20miilion bid to ever be placed for him were they hence the high sell on clauseBut when we offered him his new contract a few months ago, there was the possibility someone would. So negotiate the release clause a lot higher, deter clubs from buying him, or make more money for us and Fleetwood.
