Means we could get just £15m or less for a player who was one goal shy of the golden boot and a PL record holder

Are people forgetting how much a gamble Vardy was and how even until the arse end of last season he couldn't hit a barn door? It's FOUR years ago. No one would or could have predicted this.

I think people are just hurting we might lose him. The barmy contract was in the release clause, not the sell on fee. Seeing how he was playing, to make his release clause just 20 mill was naive. It should have been higher. THAT's where we've dropped a bollock.

This, also sell on's, like buy out clauses, are part and parcel of football. Ridiculous to suggest anyone should leave the club because a sell on was negotiated with one of our players, all those signed for money probably have one.

I'm a little confused though, surely we should have looked to increase the amount of the buyout when he received his massive pay rise.

But when we offered him his new contract a few months ago, there was the possibility someone would. So negotiate the release clause a lot higher, deter clubs from buying him, or make more money for us and Fleetwood.
