Len Finsbury Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Tea MUGS? Bloody heathens. You'll be telling me next that you don't use saucers and that you have milk in your coffee after 11am!
The Blur Posted 18 June 2016 Posted 18 June 2016 You lot are absolutely mugs for being so prima donna about your mugs When I visited Rome and Florence last summer, I bought Roma and Fiorentina mugs as souvenirs and planned to buy football club mugs of respective cities that I visit in the future to build up a collection but when I got home, I realised that it does not felt right buying football clubs mugs when I have not visited their stadium but I plan to do that in the future if I get a chance to visit stadiums. It will look really nice on a square shelves I think.
Alf Bentley Posted 18 June 2016 Posted 18 June 2016 'Linnets', man. 'Lynnettes' makes us sound like a diner in Kansas. The Lynnettes sounds like the name of a baton-twirling, pom-pom waving cheerleading troupe such as might perform at half-time at a King's Lynn home match. I always had a soft spot for King's Lynn FC, even though I only saw them in action twice, about 33 years ago. I grew up as a Folkestone Town fan and the 2 clubs both ended up in the Southern Premier in about 1983. Folkestone had won promotion from the Southern Division (glory! glory!), King's Lynn transferred from the Northern Premier, I think. The 2 teams were very evenly matched (above mid-table, but not good enough to challenge for promotion to the Conference) - and played out a couple of cracking, really tight matches: 2-1 Folkestone at home; 3-2 King's Lynn away. I was living in Norwich at the time, so King's Lynn was one of the closest away matches for me: a pair of really good, tight-fought games. I love games like that. So, there's always been a corner in my heart for King's Lynn. But then I'm a complete mug.......just to bring things back on-topic.

Lynn have always been a club with great potential, never quite able to attract the players and finances needed to make a push for the Conference. I've seen some great games down there in front of 1500-2000 fans. Some of the support is, how to say.... passionate. Games vs Merthyr, Coalville, Grantham and Wisbech can get tasty. A few years ago I remember Vardy scoring against Lynn for Stocksbridge. We were managed by Carl Heggs at the time, whose brother owned the carpark under which Richard III was found. Life is circular....

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 I got a free 'Leicester City Premier League Champions 2015-1016‘ mug at the Father's Day carvery down the KP today. Gave one to my father today. Hopefully it will last years with it being iconic. The current League One champions cup I've got has been going since 2008/09. Still in pretty good condition now to be fair. Perhaps faded slightly but definitely useable.
