Beliall Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 I have my own tea mug AND my own coffee mug. Not only is nobody else allowed to use either mug, but I'm not allowed to use my tea mug for coffee or my coffee mug for tea. I've had the coffee mug for over 20 years and have never drunk tea from it. It's a squat little mug, mainly dark brown, with a narrow brim so that the coffee stays hot. I bought it on a weekend away at Ironbridge Gorge soon after I started going out with my now Missus of 14 years. I expect to shed tears if that mug doesn't outlast me. In contrast, my tea mug is tall with a wide brim, as I chain-drink tea and don't mind if it gets lukewarm. It has brightly-coloured thick vertical stripes, which cheers my mood up. It's actually the 3rd identical mug, spanning about 10 years, as I've broken it a couple of times. They cost a fiver from the Co-op on last replacement, but Tea Mug III has lasted for at least 5 years now, so the price might have gone up.......or they might no longer be stocked at the Co-op. Please PM me if you require any further details regarding my mugs. PM sent.
Vlad the Fox Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Ive commandeered a minion mug from the kids, the other half keeps breaking mine, along with my Expresso cups. I've still got a league cup victory mug with all the players names on she broke years ago. I might design my own champions mug and get it printed at asda.

Not only is nobody else allowed to use either mug, but I'm not allowed to use my tea mug for coffee or my coffee mug for tea. I have spearate tea mugs, coffee mugs and soup mugs. I never put the "wrong" drink in the "wrong" mug. Maybe I need to lighten up and live a little. Absolutely not, Vacamion, You are clearly the only sane person in this thread. PM sent.
kingcarr21 Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 I have my own mug at work which I drink water from as I don't like any hot drinks
Fox92 Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Have a monopoly mug at home. At work though I just use the one I took on my first day.

Rincewind Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 I have a ceramic see thru mug, a LCFC, A DNO and a custom printed Quill 2 Ink 2 Paper one. I use them all at times for any drink depending on which one is cleanest or I washed latest..

I use them all at times for any drink depending on which one is cleanest or I washed latest.. Surely if you only used the one you washed latest you always end up using the same one? Or do you let some of the mugs (I'd imagine the DNO one) get all stinky and mouldy?
Guest MattP Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 I have my own tea mug AND my own coffee mug. Genuinely one of my favourite quotes ever on FT!
Guest MattP Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Reading this reminds me of my Grandad, he stills drink his numerous cups of tea every day out of his Espana 1982 "naranjito" mug, how it's got through 34 years without being damaged is still beyond me. I don't think a mug has ever got as much use as his.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Went into town today to get a new champions cup for Father's Day. I've had my own current Leicester cup, since 2014 so two years worth so far. Also got one from the 2008/09 League One champions season which is still going strong.
Guest Col city fan Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 I've got one that says 'Big cnvt' on it. No smart arse remarks thank-you....

Saxondale Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 LCFC one for at work, obviously. At home, I prefer my Bodum mugs without handles but with silicone heat sleeves. Like this (mine are blue): Not actually that practical, but I like them.
fuchsntf Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 2-3 leicester city mugs, 2 BVB mugs, 2 Leicester Tigers mugs. 2 krugs, and 2 lichtenstein mugs. 4-5 various mugs that my kids bought me on their 1st travels. I have well and truely been mugged I had a mug, I used for 25 yrs at work, when I took holidays, colleagues used it..!! 2nd day after retiring, brought it home , those vagabonds I had slowly nutured, with loving care, not one, 5 of them could own up to the dastardly mutation of a well beloved partner of 26yrs. I called Crimewatch to see if they could set up some re-inactment, to try and solve this mysterious case...They told me crimes of passion are not their thing.!!
SystonFox Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 I took my own mug to work. A Yorkie "it's not for girls" one from about 8 years ago. Now some melt in my office thinks it's his and every time drinks are made he's like "in the Yorkie mug please" My fave mug at home is a scrabble J8 one. My name begins with J obvs. Currently drinking coffee out of it and it tastes so much better than in any other mug

Rincewind Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 In the City shop near the market they have reduced City champions migs to £6. I was tempted but bought a wristband instead.

The Doctor Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 I've got one with a (now out of date) periodic table on it which was at work, then made it's way home for washing while I was supposed to being made redundant (that was 4 months ago - still here) and disappeared somewhere in my house. Getting tea on my way in just isn't the same...
Trav Le Bleu Posted 17 June 2016 Posted 17 June 2016 Yeah, I've got my own. And who are you calling a mug?
