Guest CityFan 06 Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 The other Saturday when I was there the kop was covered over, presumably for cleaning the underside of the roof on that cherry picker, at the rugby World Cup they had to alter the white seats so no King Power branding was seen, is the champions league the same? I know the dug out seats have to have sponsors names covered up but not sure about stadium seat advertising. That's interesting. I found this on the web http://www.uefa.org/MultimediaFiles/Download/Regulations/uefaorg/Regulations/02/35/87/89/2358789_DOWNLOAD.pdf I've not read it in full but might be worth a look. It covers all areas of CL regulations (screens, facilities etc). Just, the fox heads would look superb in the Kop and Family stands. More unique. It was like that when it was first built.

Not read all the 100 pages but can't find anything about seating advertising, the stadium name is ok I think but won't get mentioned much. Kit bags, drinks bottles etc can't have branding on them and advertising boards have to be a certain length and height and corners filled in. Thinking back when Spurs were in it for one season, Harry Redknapp used to open a door in it to get to his technical area as like us their cameras are opposite the dug outs, wonder if they'll stick the boards straight across them like Spurs did then? Basically UEFA take over your ground a couple of days before the game and do what they like.

Every aspect of the stadium has to meet the CL regulations, and inspections can be carried out at any time to my understanding.

It's interesting reading but like all those documents you get lost in the wording at times, makes you wonder how they'd go on with a club that doesn't meet the criteria level, but it goes hand in hand, those clubs rarely get into Champions league places I suppose. Filbert Street would've needed some work doing

Filbert Street would've needed some work doing Indeed. As much as CL nights at Filbert Street would of been mega, we can still create those special nights at Filbert Way. And the stadium is built for it too, still has a modern ish feel to it which will help to comply with the CL regulations.
Jace Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 The seats are all being treated to get them the same colour I've been told by a decent source, think it was in the expansion thread about a month ago along with the planned development for the east stand

Allowed to say?
Jace Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 Same for the blue seats do you know? Allowed to say? Yeah all the seats mate its because of the discolouration of the blue seats

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 Pleased about that, genuinely. The KP will be looking smarter ahead of the new PL campaign and the Champions League next season. I remember last season the positive difference of appearance, for the stadium, those blue panels outside the ground made. Hopefully this will have the same affect.
MC Prussian Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 who gives a shit if it's gold. doesn't change your fvcking view does it. Depends on who's sitting in front of you.
Stadt Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 who gives a shit if it's gold. doesn't change your fvcking view does it. let's change the kit to gold as well because it doesn't change the team who we support

sdb Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 So are they replacing them or sharpening them up? Because I'd love to have my seat if it's getting thrown out...
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 Out of pure interest, I'd be really keen to see what they do to restore the faded plastic. PET plastics like that break down under exposure to UV light, and I was under the impression it was an irreversible process. Guess I'll have to wait and see!
promised land Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 So are they replacing them or sharpening them up? Because I'd love to have my seat if it's getting thrown out... This is bugging me, I don't want someone else's if they're putting them all back in. I've made that seat comfortable over the years, proper bedded in now like a nice cardigan.

You're quite right I'm sure, I was told they will treat them with a type of bleach so they'll be fading them to match don't think it's possible to bring the colour back. Either do this or replace them all are probably their options

bluebeau Posted 30 June 2016 Posted 30 June 2016 New Gold seats would look fantastic when the stadium is full capacity.
