Howard99 Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 These three are widely regarded as the best managers around at the moment. So who would you pick as the number 1 at the moment? Guardiola for me
Donut Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 You forgot Luis Enrique, Ancelotti, Mourinho, Zidane.......
foxy boxing Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 Guardiola, the trophies speak for themselves as does the trophies
AKCJ Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 Guardiola has proven that he's the best but I reckon Simeone could be if given the chance at a bigger club.
Strokes Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 I'm not sure the answer can be given until their careers have concluded. Look at mourinho, it can go wrong very quickly and black marks taint careers.

Finnegan Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 Guardiola obviously, how is that even a question? I appreciate he's only had three giants to manage but how many gaffers have we seen go to those clubs and have no way near the consistency of Pep? He's probably my least favourite of the three in both style on the field and personality off it but he's in a league of his own.
Wymsey Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 Klopp for the on-pitch entertainment and his 'banter'.
Donut Posted 25 September 2016 Posted 25 September 2016 As a fan i think youd really take to Klopps enthusiasm, passion and engaging character if he was managing your team. Guardiola seems to have the midas touch though. Needed a Champions League win at Bayern perhaps? I really like how Luis Enrique has put the entertainment into Barca again after the tiki taka era
Grewks Posted 26 September 2016 Posted 26 September 2016 Klopp and Simeone have built something with their bare hands at Dortmund and Atletico, Pep has been given it in his hands 3 times now. Ferguson was a great because he built, re-built and re-built again. Guardiola was given Messi, iniesta and Xavi. Guardiola was given Muller, Robben and Ribery. Guardiola was given Aguero and De Bruyne. He turned Bayern, from the most devastatingly counter attacking side completely dominating Europe. To the most boring, slow, repetitive, ineffective side on a european stage.

Won the domestic league and a few German Cup's but any decent enough manager would have been able to do that with the squad that they possess. He was brought in to win the Champions League, and they didn't do it under his tenure. Man City has been his toughest job yet, and he's already spent over £150 million in one transfer window.

Totaly agree to Grewks and MarkDeVirus Guardiola never trained a bad team, with good teams and a lot of money behind i think a lot of managers can do it like that. Klopp and Cholo hadn´t this financial background and had some good successes but i belive that they don´t fit to every team. Klopp and BVB, Simeone and Atleti are a perfect match. Both have to build a team with "less" money and managed it very well.
Fox92 Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Well I voted Guardiola because of what he won at Barca and at Bayern. People come out with shite like "fraud" and "he'd get found out in the Prem" yet he's currently walking the league. I like Klopp much more though and really hope he does succeed at Liverpool.

You have to laugh at the people who say "he's been given so and so". He made Messi, he made Muller and he's currently making De Bruyne. He's a bloody genius at taking talented players to the next level and that's why he's always "given" great players.

Yeah I've never quite gotten to "oh well he's not proved himself lower down has he." If a Michelin Star Chef has spent his entire culinary career at that level he's not going to take the first job at Harvester just to prove something. Quite clearly a master of what he does, and his coaching methods work, both collectively and on individuals. He is a desired manager who has won the lot from the very top since the start. Why anyone feels he needs to go and prove himself with less money to spend and a lower ability of player is beyond me. He's not going to wake up in two years, have an epiphany and take over West Brom cause he needs to show he can do it lower down.
Ozwin Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Give them each a League 2 side and let us find out that way.
Captain... Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 What Klopp and Simeone did at Dortmund and Atletico surpasses any single thing Pep achieved at Barca or Bayern. The fact that Pep has done it at 2 clubs and comes in and makes it happen instantly is still impressive as is his start with Man City. If Simeone can go to another club of the same stature or greater than Atletico then he can be considered as good as Pep, likewise Klopp if he turns Liverpool into a title contender and gets them to win something then that will be a greater achievement than Pep winning the league with Man City. The fact it has taken time shouldn't detract from what he is doing at Liverpool. Right now it is Guardiola, but a failure to win the league this season with the talent he has available and the start they've made will put that into doubt.
desertfox2 Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Went for Klopp but only because Guadiola has had easier jobs relatively
bovril Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 How is managing Barcelona not a "challenging job"? It's not Champ Man.
Dan Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 People completely under-estimate what Guardiola did at Barcelona. I'll admit Bayern was a bit 'meh' (wouldn't go as far as failure but it was nothing iconic), he turned a side that finished third into the greatest team of my lifetime. Messi & Iniesta were not even as close to being as big as they ended up being before he was in charge. Read up on his time at Barcelona. He doesn't get the credit he deserves for it.
