Milo Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Just saw this, too. His good bits are good, but he's a bit of a fruitcake. Seems to be always on the edge of doing something a little unpredictable. Just reading the new Fearless book and didn't realise what a behind the scenes set up he created. Pretty impressive, shame he's a bit of an oddball....

He left the club in a very good state for Don Claudio to then Polish the diamond. And is a major factor in our success. He will always be lcfc related to me.

Fox 4 Life Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 The owner called him in to the office and said results aren't good enough. Pearson then asked him if he was an ostrich, nutted him and started screaming FOAD whilst stamping on his head. True story
Guest FriendlyRam Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Not shocked if its Mel throwing his weight around, but it could be the allardyce thing as well so we wait and see tbh If it is indeed Mel just sacking another manager I'm done with the club until he sells up, he's turned this club into an absolute joke over the past 14 months, you can spend all the money you like it doesn't mean success just look at Forest and us lot, we're going to be looked on as "how not to run a football club". I wish him well for the future, he got handed a pretty impossible job with us tbh, I don't blame him one bit for the mess we're in, that sadly is down to Mel Morris and his reckless spending.
crazyleicester Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 You got to feel for Nige. He worked wonders with us and we would not be where we are today without his input. He is sometimes under-appreciated by some but on a personal level I always wanted him to succeed. However, the reality is he went into a new club without his tried and tested backroom team. I know he has had all sorts with him that come and go but the core of his team with Shakespere and Walsh have been with him from 2008 with us twice and at Hull. To think that he could get back to those heights without such an integral part of his team missing is almost like Paul McCartney going solo after the Beatles! You`ll get success but you need your buddies to be complete! Its a shame it hasnt worked out for him but going to a club like Derby who come across as one of these delusional sides who live in the past talking about the "Derby Way" of playing and almost an insistence that they should be in a prem was always going to be a problem. There are ambitious clubs and delusional clubs and for me Derby seem to be a bit mental in expectations. I remember having a chat with one of my work mates who was trying to convince me they are bigger than Newcastle and all roads led to the 70s and Brian Clough. Its almost the same with Liverpool fans who think they are bigger than Man Utd because of what happened 2 to 3 decades ago. Anyway, if the net rumours are right and he is sacked, I hope he finds a club that lets him manage the way he wants to but without his backroom team his job is going to be twice as hard.

Exactly this I'm not stupid enough to think we're a top half prem side, we're a bottom half championship side and that's that, the players we have have been built up to be something their ****ing not, their not as good as some of our fanbase think they are, their ok in the right formation and system NP needed 2 years maybe a year to start moulding his own team together, Anya and Vydra both looked decent and were the only positives so far this season, which says it all because they were Pearson's signings. I'm not shocked by the sacking, I'm just shocked pearson didn't plant one on Morris before leaving.
Guest FriendlyRam Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Just now, Col city fan said: What a complete fook up.. Oh it is Nigel pearson is well out of it here at Derby. 4 managers now sacked by that bald headed idiot, and the best part about it is he's spent 30m quid and the club in the worst state its been in since the 3 amigos, I wouldn't be shocked if we're well ****ed in terms of FFP
desertfox2 Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Unless it's something to do with this whole Allardyce stuff then regardless of if it's to do with a bust up at the training ground or not ultimately it's results as if they were top of the league it would be a different story.

I have heard it from fellow Leicester fans when we had shite players and Megson in charge so listening to Wolves, Forest or Derby fans almost demanding success is more out of frustration. The other thing for your mob is that you have spent a lot of time in the play-off possies and even headed the table a couple of seasons ago but if you have such high expectations that adds to pressure on new bosses from the get-go. Its strange as for us I think our turning point was when we got relegated into Englands third tier for the first time ever. We then switched on the realism and fun button and I remember getting to a few away games and really enjoying it, even if we were in some of footballing shit holes. From then many of us started smiling again and expectations became realistic. Maybe you need a disaster season before you lot kick on instead of always hovering there or thereabouts. Get Holloway in, get relegated and then re-hire NP and problems will all be solved

I was willing to spend this season in the bottom half if it meant NP got the time he needed to get the poor attitudes out and bring in his own players. its coming out that he's had a massive row with Morris about the way he spoke to the players on Saturday... so its obvious we're going nowhere with a player power within the club. Next man swears at them... Morris sacks him.. its almost comical from my perspective, god knows what Forest fans and you lot think of it
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Don't think this will ruin him too much now with Derby basically being a revolving door now. Not sure whether he'd get the Villa job, but I'm sure he'll bounce back
Guest FriendlyRam Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 I think Villa are another basket case tbh, he needs a club that will stick by him and give him time. He needs a club like Ipswich, Mick McCarthy has done brilliant there on a shoestring, but they've given him free reign which a manager should get. Sadly to say clubs like mine, Forest and Villa have deluded fanbases and even more deluded owners running them
bridport007 Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37489071 Big Sam also.
crazyleicester Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Football is really unique, especially in England. We have so many clubs now in the lower leagues who have won the league in yesteryear but where football is weird is we seem to bypass the years of shite and romanticise about the glory year or years, even if it was 50 years ago. Its almost like my family and the lottery, everyone thinks they will win it once in their lifetime and its only a matter of time There is nothing wrong in dreaming and stories like ours actually adds more power to aiming high as its almost a "if they can do it why cant we" mentality. For me I miss the buzz of games against Derby and Forest so wouldnt mind if you lot came up to be fair but for now, we will sit back with a beer watching the Champions League having a little chuckle!!
Argarath Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 "Was last seen choking the owner while asking in a phycotic manner whether or not he was an ostrich"
Tielemans63 Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Very strange decision. Surely when they hired Nige their due diligence flagged up that, wherever he's been, things have got worse before they've got better as he makes his mark, gets rid of the dead wood and brings in better, hungrier players. Results have been shit but I bet that's down to players he wanted rid of still being at the club and downing tools.
foxes21 Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Derby will regret losing Pearson. They needed to give him time to build something like our owners did, doubt they'll be able to get a manager as good as him.
murphy Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Promotions, great escape, laid the title winning foundations and now led the sheep to the bottom three. Legend!
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 Good, I can go back to wanting Derby to lose each week
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 27 September 2016 Posted 27 September 2016 As I said in the other thread, good news purely on the fact I can go back to wanting to see Derby lose week after week. Hope NP gets a decent job with a club that'll give him the freedom to make them successful. Derby's team seem a rotten bunch.
