Donut Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 If you have a bust up with the person who employs you, who do you think is going to come off worse in that argument? Pearson is a good manager. Hes also highly confrontational and its alright sitting there and being "old school" and "taking no shit" blah blah but you cant act like that all the time. Thats it.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 The geezer's still a bag of shit. Hope Derby sack the cnut!
Wymsey Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 The rumours on here about him being linked with this may well be right..!

Jimmy Saville's best mate and someone who stands 'on the middle ground' between the Asian community and the EDL thinks Nigel Pearson is a bag of shit, I imagine the shame will be too much for him to bear.
Tuna Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 Meanwhile footage emerges of the training ground bust up between Nigel Pearson and owner Mel Morris.
ousefox Posted 28 September 2016 Posted 28 September 2016 Just a rumour but someone on twitter said he had an altercation with Shackell. One of my mates played with him at Barnsley and said he was an arrogant arsehole who thought he was better than he was. Wouldn't be surprising that he's the type of player NP wouldn't get on with

You have to get on with it and form a working relationship. An "altercation" within a couple of months is ridiculous.
m4DD0gg Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 The art of handling confrontation and big often unwarranted egos is the mark of a good manager. For all pearsons good points as a manager this will always let him down

foxes21 Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 thank god we have good owners and not someone like mel morris
foxy boxing Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 i am sure he is still a good manager but just needs to manage the team and leave everything else like off the field problems to someone else, he is getting a reputation for someone who is prickly and extremely difficult. he needs to cut out the confrontational style and be more diplomatic in his responses to journalists which i know is not easy when you are under extreme pressure
MPH Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 Great manager, likeable bloke for a fan and a player but seems to forget he is also someone's employee.
Les-TA-Jon Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 Still believe that any struggling side in the country could be turned around by NP, with appropriate support. That's what he's best at - getting rid of the deadwood and steadying the ship. Remains to be seen how much of that was also down to Shakey and Walsh, and whether he's still got it in him. I've always got the impression that NP loves the sport itself, but doesn't care for the fans, the players, the media, chairman etc - so you can see why he's struggling with the 'modern game'.

I'd say that more the mark of a good manager than anything.

MPH Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 I am now being told that he ( allegedly) punched the owner! Find this hard to believe, but apparently the owners son is fuming because his dad has a black eye! someone has to be on a wind up surely?
AKCJ Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 If that's true then we should name a stand after him or something.

Matt Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 We didn't even have chance to play a game for the Nigel Pearson Trophy. Do we win it by default? Saying that, Clough isn't even alive but Forest and Derby still play for the Brian Clough Trophy.
Donut Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 Could you imagine walking in to work and punching your boss? For christ's sake take the managerial talent you clearly have, and learn to behave like an adult.
Countryfox Posted 29 September 2016 Posted 29 September 2016 Say what you like but Mel Morris is an arrogant opinionated tw@t and our Nige will never put up with someone like that telling him what to do ... Perfect recipe for Direby dropping another division. Looove ittt !!!!!
